Romance shown as a journey of discovery between a couple is always beautiful. Every story even the mythological ones have love stories in them. Whether it is Ramayana or MB or Mahadev love story is weaven within the narrative.
Coming to lockets and other things love is about feelings, it is about heart so some things matter that way. Even in Ramayana Ram's ring to Sita and Sita giving her choodamani for Ram is treated as the most beautiful moment. It is part of Sundara Kanda and at home it is told that it is auspicious to read Sundara Kandam.
If Ramayan and MB had wars, revenge everything, but they had love too.

It's just my take and it is a show for 1 year. So I would prefer to have some romance with the thriller aspect as long as they keep Durga strong and with her eyes on the mission.

I have watched Ramanand Sagar Ramayan and BRC Mahabharat. Romantic moments were there but they were just moments. Never ate entire episodes or story.
Journeys of couples are there to watch in other loads of romantic shows.

Every show need not be swamped and dumbed down by romance.

Cinevistaas made epic shows like Junoon in past that had family drama, business rivalry and crime all woven fabulously well together. Not a single moment in that show was hollow, irrelevant or drag.

Unlike waste episodes now.

Actually tv shows these days have bcum romance centred... Not saying I don't like romance, but shows get diverted from their original concepts to show romance...
I don't blame the creatives... Generally ppl only wtch romance... I have observed that shows get more popularity once they show romance...
Again, mentality of ppl is to be blamed...

@atominis the problem is those days it was a finite shows with once a week time. These days it is 6 day per week. To be frank a lot of fillers have to be created to run the show. Hence they waste time on long eye locks and other things😃. Even the current MB the way Bhishma vadh was dragged I couldnt take it.
If they can make story finite say no more than 4 to 5 months then most of the off repeated romance can be taken off.
Coming to every show needing romance. Well my take is this. When destruction is on full swing you need the force of love to balance things out. I mean there has to be a hope for tomorrow and only love can bring in that hope.
That's why even Lord Krishna made Abhi marry Uttara knowing fully well Abhi's fate in Kurushketra. He knew that for Dharma to go forward a hope is needed and for that , for the betterment of world and society Abhi-uttara marriage has to happen.

Same is the case with Mahadev-Parvathi. That marriage was also for saving the world. Because only the son of Shiva could kill tharakasur. Shiv was not interested in marriage. So Parvathi when she couldnt won him with her love, she won him through penance.

In EHT also Durga is on the path of destruction. But she cannot remain that way. After the mission there has to be hope for her, a life for her and without love and optimism that cannot happen. Hence the romance angle.

For heaven's sake don't compare Mahbharata and Ramayana. They celebrate love as much as they celebrate the human existence. Love there is divine and not about eye locks alone.
Love in fictional series is horrible, just horrible. They give more importance to physical attraction. I am not like against it or something . ITs okay when you are showing us a love story, even if the moments are cliched but do't brng such things in a revenge story

And yes Durga has more flashbacks of Dev than her parents.

I will not compare a revenge show with mytho. It may be a daily but it does not mean this level of dragging is needed. It is a finite show after all and not meant to run for 1000 episodes. It was said it was inspired from Khoon bhari maang. That film has its moments but Rekha remains focused on her goal till the end. Unlike this show where past and real cause have been forgotten now. I don't think she is taking revenge or looking for justice for her raped sister and killed parents. Especially no flashbacks of parents!😲

I can't believe that a yaar was more important than parents.

Please don't compare dheela and silly Dev with Mahadev. Too naive and gutless for that comparison.

Dev never strengthens Durga the way mytho characters strengthened each other. He is her weakness. Too many goof ups and sluggishness since he entered. Like the one in hospital.

Even Dayal has changed his mind now and started discouraging Durga. (If he wanted normal life then why did he help her plan revenge earlier?)

For me Dev is a nail that punctured tyre of EHT. Show aagey chal hi nahi raha jabse yeh aaya hai.

I loved your thread!!! 👏
Right now in the show I miss the pace, the pace with which Mathur went to jail!
Its lacking!
i didn't mind Dev's entry as long as the focus of the story remain unchanged and i felt its good to see some positive character around!
I hope to see the same pace back.. the full fledged revenge track back!!!

i feel the hawtness factor is ok if the show is touted to be so..coz sumhow i have noticed people are getting obsessed with romance and for sum reason, with consummation scenes...aah, the days wen on-screen characters cud have sex without us being voyeurs😉.. so if shows like IPKKND etc, which were advertised as love stories and IPKKNDEBP which was to be a dark love story has love scenes, i wud give it BOD..but a show like EHT which was NOT SUPPOSED to have this kind of nonsense, starts showing BS in name of love, i wud not tolerate..

Look romance is not a bad thing but here the topic is different. Why such obsession ? It can just another thing that happens in our life. Why this thing has to larger than life is the question.

The reason I said a love story will make it realistic is because it is almost impossible to find someone so focused on revenge that other emotions don't come in the way. Dev and Nitya were best friends and after finding out that Dev is innocent Durga's reaction towards him seemed unusually emotionless. And I don't think it has to be larger than life, it can (and actually already is) be an element of this story.
