I didn't know Preity's debut was Dil Se, I always thought it was 'Kya Kehna' lol.

I think Mahima's debut was the best. With a debut like that I have no clue how she didn't get big projects afterwards.

Rishi Kapoor(Bobby) & Kumar Gaurav(Love Story) had similar receptions, if not bigger. Even Salman Khan(MPK), Sunny Paaji(Betaab) & Aamir Khan(QSQT) had massive debuts. But they weren't considered because their performances were nothing to write home about, at least not critically acclaimed. That includes Hrithik.

I'm surprised by just 1 vote for Nandita Das, she excelled in 1947:Earth. Playing a complex character with confidence.

I doubt they were bigger. Kumar Gaurav is a nobody today, Rishi was popular but not as much as his contemporaries. Sunny and Aamir were good but I didn't see the kind of hysteria there, that was present with Hrithik in their debuts.
