‘People drift apart, we did’: Fahmaan Khan on trying to FIX ‘broken bond’ with Sumbul Touqeer

Sumbul Touqeer Khan and Fahmaan Khan's chemistry in Star Plus show Imlie quickly became one of the most loved onscreen pairings. The two actors not only enjoyed a massive fan following, but their chemistry also contributed significantly to the show’s success, helping it stay at the top of the TRP charts for several months. In fact, their closeness often led to reports linking the two of them together, frequently making headlines. However, both actors consistently maintained that they were only best friends. Speculation about trouble in their friendship began circulating after the actress’ stint on Bigg Boss 17. One of the statements that particularly stood out was Fahmaan Khan saying that he does not miss his friendship with the actress.

In a recent conversation with Subhojit Ghosh, the actor was asked about that remark once again and whether he regrets saying it. Responding to this, the Imlie actor said, “No, No.'' When asked if he has ever tried to let bygones be bygones and speak to the Sumbul, Fahmaan says, ''We talk but baat ko bahut time ho gaya. Abhi iske aage jitna uske baare mein baat karoge utna zyada controversy badhti rehti hai.''

Fahmaan then says that he is never going to have any hard feelings for Sumbul. ''Ek jo mutual respect hai it, waisa hi. I think its always going to be there. There is never going to be hard feelings there. Kuch hai nahi waisa kuch hua nahi hai. People drift apart. We did. Aur woh bahut saare doston mein hota hai. Like I said no hamari industry aisi jagah hai jahan pe sab kuch dikh raha hai. Warna tumhare kitne saare dost honge jisse tum drift apart ho chuke ho in different times of your life,'' says Khan.

Speaking about the same, Fahmaan says, ''Ab uske liye kya kar sakte hain. Koshish to ki hum log ne sab ne. Aisa nahi hai. I think its all part and parcel of living a life. And like I said if its meant to be, when and if wavelengths match again, you never know what can happen.''

Ask the actor if he is open to working with Sumbul again and he says, ''Of course why not. She is a brilliant actor yaar. Hum dono ke takkar ke scenes hote hain to maza aata hai kaam karne mein.'' Fahmaan says that the healthy competition between the two of them helped them become better actors. ''That is why that show did also that well. I think I mean we both had that,'' he said.

Fahmaan Khan and Sumbul Touqeer’s fallout surprised fans, as their once close bond reportedly turned distant due to misunderstandings and changing priorities.
