Dhanush is an established national award winning actor from the South even before he set a toe in BW. The filmfare debut for him was ridiculous. 😒 To call it a debut is ridiculous. So I am excluding him from the list..😉

Dhanush's wasn't a debut, he has been playing the same character in his South films for almost a decade. That was the reason he was taken for the role actually. He shouldn't be in the list therefore.

Among the rest Vivek Oberoi by a mile as far as critical reception goes. People today wouldn't believe the kind of praises he got for his debut performance.

Mahima and Kangana.

Mahima was super beautiful during her pardes days. She wasn't the best actress but she wasn't horrible either. Too bad she didn't get proper roles after that..

Kangana is a natural born actor, straight from the beginning. I loved that she didn't look like a typical bollywood heroine. Her awesome hair stood out for me too. I'm glad she is getting her due now.

Vidya definitely but I was in awestruck with Mahima after watching Pardes

I LOVED Mahima, she was one hell of an actress! Her scene in Lajja, made the whole movie for me. I wish she made it in a bigger way, she truly deserves it and she was the entire package!

The best debut IMO..was Hrithik Roshan, I don't think anyone had that kind of phenomenon around them. He literally became a star overnight.

From the list - Mahima, Kangana, Vidya are the best.

Rishi Kapoor(Bobby) & Kumar Gaurav(Love Story) had similar receptions, if not bigger. Even Salman Khan(MPK), Sunny Paaji(Betaab) & Aamir Khan(QSQT) had massive debuts. But they weren't considered because their performances were nothing to write home about, at least not critically acclaimed. That includes Hrithik.

I'm surprised by just 1 vote for Nandita Das, she excelled in 1947:Earth. Playing a complex character with confidence.
