Miss India Earth 2019 winner, Sayali Surve, has reportedly converted to Hinduism, citing harassment from her Muslim husband as the reason. Surve, a Pimpri-Chinchwad native now residing in Mumbai with her four children, has also adopted the name Aadya Surve. Reflecting on her difficult marriage, she shared that she married Aatif Tase in 2017 in a love marriage, having met him through a mutual acquaintance. Despite her family's disapproval, she proceeded with the marriage, a choice she now regrets.

Sayali Surve Alleges 'Love Jihad'

Speaking to media, Sayali said, "Mujhe conversion karna pada, kyunki nikah karna zaruri tha aur convert hona bhi zaruri tha. Pehle procedure hui, uske baad main wahin rehti gayi. Jab aap 24 ghante ek insaan ke saath rehte ho, toh aapko uski aadatein samajh aati hain aur uske background ka bhi andaaza hota hai."

She also mentioned that she had considered leaving the marriage on numerous occasions but was frequently manipulated. She stated that she had given the marriage multiple chances, considering her children, but eventually, she could no longer endure the abuse.

"Jab aapko 24 ghante gaaliyon ke alawa kuch sunne ko nahi milta, aur bina kisi galti ke maar-peet hoti hai, toh jo cheezein aapke liye pehle normal nahi hoti, woh dheere-dheere normalise ho jaati hain," added Surve.

Sayali emphasises on the future of her children

Furthermore, she explained that, with her children growing older, she did not want them to be exposed to the situation and suffer lasting trauma, which led her to take this significant step.

Sayali stated, "Definitely love jihad ka mamla hai. Kai log mana karte hain aur bolte hain ki jab maine khud yeh kiya tha, toh aaj kya bolna. Jab maine yeh decision liya tha, tab itni samajh nahi thi. Main bharose mein, unhe ek achha insaan samajh kar gayi thi. Yeh saari cheezein iss dharm mein zaroor hoti hain."

She emphasized her reluctance to speak negatively about any religion, noting that, as someone born into Hinduism, she had tried for a long time to maintain her practices based on her upbringing. However, when these were openly challenged, she was forced to cease. She gradually learned that other religions, particularly Islam, lacked certain aspects, and she was instructed in and practiced namaz.

Sayali files FIR

Additionally, Sayali shared that she has changed her children's names to reflect their religious identity. She has also filed multiple FIRs and is scheduled to give her statement in two days. Due to safety concerns for herself and her children, she was unable to travel to Mumbai, but she mentioned the police have been supportive and will come to Pune.

Becoming emotional, she expressed that she possesses significant revelations and evidence but is not inclined to engage in such conduct. She also encouraged women facing similar circumstances to come forward.
