We should have one for the actresses too. That would be interesting.
I was hoping to see Ranveer up there..I still think of him as a newcomer.

I agree with most of your criticism except Varun. I thought he was good for a newcomer in SOTY. I think from all the newcomers..he has the best screen presence and dialogue delivery.

Sid and Aditya can be boring on screen. I don't think they have the passion that Arjun and Varun or even Ranveer have.

Constructive criticism is always better than completely writing off someone. You never know who bounces back when and how.

I only know about Sushant Singh Rajput's work since I have observed his growth and am a proud fan of what he has achieved. He is a good actor and has got his films on the basis of his acting than anything else. As much as we like to say what did these hotshot directors like Dibakar B, Rajkumar Hirani, or Shekhar Kapur see in him, the truth is they must have seen something to trust him with their dream projects. Even critics like Masand, Anupama and Raja Sen have named him among the top performers of 2013. So, I definitely don't agree when people here say he is not a good actor or he doesn't have screen presence.

A lot of people judge him on the basis of his character in SDR. And I say character and not acting. Raghu was not the most likable character and probably the dislike for Raghu's flaws overpowered his performance. Sushant has played Preet, Manav, Ishaan, Raghu as differently and convincingly as it can be. He wants to improve and grow as an actor, and that's his biggest strength. He has chosen the most different films which can make him stand out, and I hope he does. Also, about his fan following, he has the most sustained one. His fans have followed him over a course of five years and most don't come here. Plus, Sushant is the only one who had two clean hits. He must have been one of the factors.

On his flaws..there is scope for him to improve on his dialogue delivery. Also, I feel after coming into BW he has become quite reserved and conscious off screen. He is really funny and intelligent, but he his holding himself back because probably the territory is new. He just needs to open up and feel more confident and he will fly.

I have not seen others work so much. Just one film of everyone else. They all have their strengths and shortcomings...their film choices will decide their fate. Out of all, Arjun and ARK have some good films lined up. Ayushmann needs to come up with a new strategy for himself, or else he might be on his way out.

Niki, I thought he was fab in SDR too...said the same in my review as well back when the movie came out...but most people just hate SDR by default cuz of the unconventional script...and Raghu basically was a loser in the movie😆...I too was amazed that Sushant could make Raghu likeable for me otherwise there were hardly any conventional likeable qualities in the character...he was a confused ghonchu but Sushant played him superbly...I could see his growth as an actor in SDR.

And I'm just amazed seeing his transformation in pics for DBB...his dedication and focus shows...and I'm sure he's going to be superb in the movie itself as well...that's the dark horse for this year in my opinion among all the clutter of detective movies being made.

Good topic, excellent analysis. I agree with most.
Arjun Kapoor has screen presence and if he takes care of his fitness has the potential to be an Anil Kapoor level star.

Sushanth and Ayushmann are not superstar material to me, but have the potential to have a long career with both money and versatile roles like Ajay Devgan.

Sid is like looking at a pretty wooden sculpture to me. He was terrible in SOTY (but that was a terrible direction job by KJO IMO so I will not hold that against him), but improved a little in HTP. He reminds me a lot of Deepika when she very pretty to look at and wooden in acting. Unless he works hard and improves drastically like her he will not make it long IMO.

Varun is the guy that seems to have everything like a good body, ok looks, not too handsome, but I can't figure out if he wants to be a Salman or a Govinda. The thing that Salman and Govinda have in spades that he does not have is tremendous screen presence. You just cannot look away from them and this guy becomes part of the scenery a group. He looks like he has all the ingredients to be a lead actor, but I could see him flopping the Abhi or Imran Khan way.

ARK is the dark horse. Has the potential and talent to be a lead actor or a strong, supporting one. His ambition and hard work or lack of it will make or break his career.

Nothing about any of them though screams STAR to me like Ranbir or Ranveer

I don't think Arjun has problem with dialogue delivery, Kangana is someone I would say has bad dialogue delivery but because she is a fantastic actor you don't pay too much attention to that. Arjun's problem is he needs to find where his strengths lies, Gunday was not his type of film I think that's why he performed so bad. He should experiment but within a limit. Look at Ranbir although he's great actor he sucked in Besharam because he's no Salman Khan or Akshay Kumar you have to know what your weakness are

Sid- There's nothing special about this guy! He's a bad actor, dances horribly, and has no screen presence. He and Ayushman aren't going to last for long.

Varun's biggest problem is he's trying to ape Salman which will be his downfall, the guy needs to make and follow his own path. No one likes imitators. When the original is here why would anyone want to see you? He's great dancer tho and I love his offscreen personality.

I have yet to see Sushant's work so I won't comment, but I do think he's decent looking guy and his future projects sound promising.
