The newcomers and their flaws

Arjun Kapoor: He has terrible dialogue delivery. I hate how he runs out of breath or doesn't complete the sentence while saying his lines. It happened in Gunday and it happened in the trailer for Two States. He needs to work on this if he wants more appreciation as an actor.

Sushant Singh Rajput: Sushant has no superstar quality. He's a good actor and a decent dancer but I don't think he has that much appeal. I don't see girls going gaga over him nor do I see guys trying to emulate him. He did star in a commercial film like Shuddh Desi Romance but that role was just weird. Hopefully over time, he finds his audience and caters to their needs.

Siddharth Malhotra: What can I say? The guy's definitely trying, I'll give him that. However, his acting and dancing is still somewhat awkward to me as a viewer. He needs to continue to improve these skills if he's wants to be taken seriously and going by his interviews it seems like he does.

Ayushmann Khurrana: Two words, overrated actor. It literally seems like he plays the same person in every film he does. If he wants to prove himself he needs to start signing difficult roles where he can show off his acting "talent".

Varun Dhawan: I thought he was bad in SOTY and I don't like him in any of his ads. He needs to work on his acting skills for sure. Until then, I hope his Main Tera Hero does well so he can continue to do massy roles that lack versatility.

Aditya Roy Kapur: This guy is as good of a dancer as Ajay Devgan, which is a problem. Something else that worries me about him is that he's too laid back for his own good. I don't see the burning ambition in him that I see in most of the newcomers which could screw him over at the end of the day.

By the way, I know that some of these seem harsh, but it's just constructive criticism. If you disagree, it's completely alright but understand that I'm just expressing my views. 😊

Sushant is fine. He can emote and has nice screen presence. He's good looking too imo. Anyways, this forum is obsessed with look department and has very high standard. But at the end of the day, acting skills and personality matters for a male star. Else John Abraham would be a superstar. He can build loyal fanbase if he keeps delivering successful films. Ajay is hardly a looker but is one of the most bankable stars in BW.

I think Sid may turn out to be the DP of these young lot. He will improve as he goes a long and then a few years down the line will explode and gain success like DP did last year.

I didn't mean to say he was bad looking, I meant to say he's not that popular. I mean that in terms of box-office. I don't think the masses will line up and wait for an hour to see a SSR movie... not yet at least. The youth don't seem interested in him either.

I agree with most. But with Varun. I see the potential in him. One thing I hope he avoids is attempting to repeat whats already been done. Like Salman & Govinda image. He can act decently and has decent comic timing and dance pretty good. He can be a mass hero. But hope he explores more in subtle and strong script films. His film with Sriram Raghvan's sounds good. (rumoured to have Aish). Also with Sushant. I hope he also explores something lighter by doing completely opposite so he can attract mass audiences equally. As for Arjun. He just needs to polish up a bit. Other than that he is fine.
I wish to see Sushant. Varun and Arjun in many films in coming years. Sid M is someone I am not fond off. Well as of now. Ayushmann annoys me. & ARK - I just cant see him going too far for some reasons. One thing I noticed is Sid & ARK's lover boy image really worked well with the young girls. But hey. They cant continue doing it throughout their career. I mean they can't pull of another SRK

He has only done two films. And SDR was a clean hit. None of the newcomers you mentioned has a loyal fanbase that will wait an hour to watch their films. What matters is on screen personality and acting skills. He has got both imo and should do well as long as he choose good scripts.

i agree wid Aditya being a poor dancer, but yeah with practice he can definitely improve.. and about being not ambitious, well Adi never wanted to become an actor or superstar, A2 happened to him, and everything was so sudden that he is still not rushing with many projects.. i like that he is a bit of laid back and maintains a low key ..

If you look at all the newcomers films, Sushant has done really well he has got 2 hits out of his 2 releases ... both very diff in terms of genre, characters ect ... he may not be the best looking out there but he certainly has a pleasant face, good height, build and can dance like a dream. Others am not sure about maybe another 3-4 yrs will determine whether they survive or not ... ofcourse the filmy kids will have an edge but ultimately its the viewers who'll decide who they want to see onscreen
