May be it was abolished long back but not implemented properly under bairam khan his regent and he had to take strict actions again to implement those laws.
and the bandi says she is from 15 years working here now jalal is 20 when he married jodha when he was 5 years old he was in kabul or rewa not in agra humayun was in persia how bandi can be in agra fort?????? Or was she working for lodhi dynasty in agra forttt😕
Till Ruqu and jalal were 17 MA took care of harem and Bairam Khan the kingdom as commander in chief and PM. So ruqu has become harem incharge now 2-3 years back only it was under MA till then(or some senior wife/sis of humayun)
Historically when akbar was 20 there was no harem Jodha was only his 5th wife and he had very few cocubbines(maids) in agra fort. Its only once he was 25 and above he married many wives and kings started sending women as gift to his harem. So how come in serial at age 20 jalal is having so many wives and maids and cocubbinesss???? This is historically wrong. jalal does not have this big harem at age of 20 may be at age of 35-40 his harem was so big not at 20.
Hamida banu was never harem incharge. She is empress of mughal empire. Mothers/daughters/sisters etc were never given harem incharge duties why? How can a son/brother/father go and ask his mom/sis/daughter that he wants this person to spend time with????? Its common sense that emperors relative shall never be hraem incharge.
British abolished bonded labour and slavery both because despite ban by many kings it continued. Actually even today in 21st century india there are bonded labourers working in farms and adult slaves and child slaves working in unorganized sectors. So no law could completely abolish it it is a mindset that needs decades to change

actually my mom is a history prof. & she told me tht during akbar's reign the wives & kids of dead defeated were brought in as slaves & they were also bought & sold. actually behind this issue BK played a huge role & later it was continued by people like adham khan. so during 1562-64 akbar made a rule tht the wives & kids of the dead defeated soldiers wont be treated as slaves. so "babu" s story which is shown in the show was the reality of tht time.

I think HB knew abt it but didn't give much importance to it as it was something she had been seeing from childhood so it didn't bother her as much as it did jodha who didn't see it in amer. when we see something all our life we tend to ignore them or they stop making a big enough impact. Or maybe since mahamanga was the absolute authority even overpowering ruqqaiya at times HB didn't want to get into any confrontations with her specially when her own son was against her in the first place. It is only that since Jalal listens to jodha that she is beg. To take more active role in these things and also because she feels protective towards jodha whereas Jalal never gave her any leeway when it came to their relationship so she kept in the background.

Just an observation: how many of u noticed that jodha mentioned to mahamanga that slavery is not suppose to take place as per Mughal rules. She said "Mughal kayado me Daas pratha nahi hai". So I guess it was happening despite humayun abolishing it. I don't know. Just a guess.

i know it continued bcoz of BK & maham. finally akbar abolished it. but tht lady told tht she is there for last 15 yrs. & 15yrs. back both jalal & ruku were kids. 2ndly, if rukshar knew it, then why HB is not aware???😕
