I want to not only remember him but also bring that reserved Mayank back, that light nupur with fun yet a soft, loving and sensible side back, the real MN back sigh i can never give up can i?

Senny, hun, Nupur asks him if he is taunting her or praising her.... (taana mar rahe ho ya tareef karre ho).... she knows he is praising her and trying to cool her down... but she wants to trick him with her reaction. When he says whatever you like.... she says taana(taunt).... that confuses him.... he knows Nupur likes to hear praises... so he is dumbfound when she says she likes his taunt.... and seeing his reaction Nupur says.... yehi expressions dekhne the muze by God... and laughs... she tricks him and he fell for her silly trick.... that's why she laughs....

''SHILPA AUNTY. Who made being known something of a 'mummy's boy' a compliment, a badge to wear with gratitude!''

minus this adorable combo of shilpa aunty and her Mayu..... rest of the mom-son pair i've come across on tv can be called 'over the top dramatic' with no real feelings , understanding, privacy and this amount of respect....
the mom son moments truly had been heartwarming....be it their arguments or teasing or their unique way of caring for eachother.

''I think every Mayank fan did a double take! What did he just say?!!? I did not know Mayank came in a sweet version! Does not every girl yearn for this? That their love have a special side, part and even smile that they keep apart only for them, that no one else can invade upon or ever know except his cherished ones; that keeps a special place in his heart which is only reserved for them? ''

that is the depth and realness in mayank's character that i otherwise miss be it in books/tv/movies........he does not wear mask yet guards his emotions well from the world and only his loved ones get to see his vulnerable side ....
aww...i love the comparison you drawn with Mr Darcy's character....
infact these have been my thoughts too since i started following the character's growth ....(you can call me Darcy fanatic since i in love with that character since i read P&P for the first time many years ago.... same as Mayank holds a special place in my heart for the uniqueness of his character)

wonderful post....i just read the first page ... but could not wait to read the rest before answering.....do continue😳

this scene infact highlights the very thing that Mayank once said ..that Nupur always ends up surprising him...be it with her actions or reactions

after reading this post ...<sigh>.....all i want is the CVs get back Shilpa aunty and let us relive these adorable moments and now added to it we will get a unique ...never seen before saas-bahu pair that can light up any dull moment in mayank's life

not just Mayur jodi...but also Shilpa aunty and Nupur's jodi is tailor made to compliment eachother.

the CVs really have no clue that they have taken out a big chunk out of the very soul of Mjht by keeping Shilpa aunty away

My Dear Friend Sabah,
Thank you so much for writing such a wonderful post.....i read it last night but couldn't reply....but reminiscing those old moments left me nostalgic!!Thanks for cheering me up with your post once again!!
@Jess,Senny,Mou.....and Sabah....all of you have written so well👏
I don't know what more to write.....i'm short of words and neither can i write with the beauty that you all do.......but let me try and add something from my side...............

SHILPA SHARMA........a symbolism of the modern woman today......she is a single parent,works hard.....at times keeps quite busy with her job.....but she always had time for her only son....Mayank.....aka Mayu!!! Single handedly she raised him to become what he is now.......she inculcated all those values....to respect a woman,work....be caring and humble......and everything in her son.....she has been his support always.....whenever Mayank needed her,she was always there to guide him......
She is an easy going woman,she knows perfectly that life needs to be enjoyed but she knew her son was yet to learn that....and she was glad that her son had met someone like nupur!! At times,i found so many similarities in her and nupur......! She tolerated Mayank's anger for she knew her son inside out....she knows what he can do and what he can't......she teases him....she knows he'll get irritated...but she also wants to teach him...that in life one can't always be serious....but in matters such as the marriage of mayank and nupur.....she displayed her disappointment too at the way mayank had handled the situation....she very patiently requested bauji and was handling matters so well.....she accepted nupur with open arms....but also made it clear that they needed to study first,build their career........!

MAYANK SHARMA........the sadu,sarcastic guy.....very different from his mother in many aspects....one wonders why that serious self.....maybe he had seen his mother go through various hardships and now he wanted to do well just for his mother who had done so much for him!!!!Though,a very sorted out person,(he has gained that quality from his mother)....there were times when he needed immense support.....whenever he was to take an important decision,he would first consult his mother......she calmed him down....gave him her own perspective in an unbiased manner.....at times he didn't tell her directly what the problem was,he just wanted to speak to her....it gave him courage and strength to move on....(the scene when he talks to his mother ,when he learns about Nupur's marriage) Mayank is a momma's boy.....he himself has been a great support for her....he understood she was feeling low...when she lost her job....those scenes show us so much of the caring child that mayank is.....he couldn't see his mother like this....he could see her getting tense,worried and for him she was most important....more important than anything or anyone....he didn't care about his love and the problems at that time...he only knew that his mother needed him...!Maynk,known to handle difficult situations,perfectly,ina cool,smart way....learnt it from his mom!!

The relationship that the two shared is so wonderful....amazing!!

It was always so much fun to watch Mayank and Shilpa aunty's interaction.....always got a smile on my face......😊.....from teasing her Mayu about a girl (i have to say,it was just so amazing!!!she wanted her kid to atleast have a girl in his life....have some excitement in his life!!! LOL,remember her constantly telling him about her friends and their son,with their gfs??!!!).....to the famous.."maa,balon ko mat choo".....(she didn't want mayank to just be a perfectionist...she wanted him to have fun!).....to the "mere young kaan,aise adult battein nahi sun sakte"...and him getting embarrased and angry......to him trying to hide his feelings about nupur from his mom....and her understanding it only too well....rather she understood it way before...during the first holi sequence!!!.....to that proud Shilpa aunty,when her son had just confessed his love infront of all....to the caring,understanding mother..telling her son to fight back his love!!.....to that little interaction at their bangalore's house!!!.......him hiding his poem for nupur....and she trying to read it.."ma,kya kar rahi ho??....."aajtak teri cheeze nahi check kari...kyunki tune mujhd=se kabhi kuch nahi chupaya!!....yeh kya hai??" ....to their discussion about his poem......her asking him to go to nupur and say this poem to her......those times when she scolded him about his behaviour to nupur....or her melodramatic ways........"main hoo na"......the diwali scenes........................this can never end......thier relationship can't be decribed even if i write thousands of words(maybe i can't write it well)........we can only watch and say...........everything that i wished to say......is here in this VM that i found....all credits to the makers...i'm sorry couldn't ask their permission!!

I 'm sorry if i haven't been able to put those moments in words well enough.....i'll be back soon and try and put it better!!!

Edit-
Another one....please give credit to Aisho.....i couldn't ask her too....can anyone tell me whats her id???

hey sabah!
beautiful post! i'm totally in aww! speechless.
to be honest i have always loved mayu-mum relationship more than anything in this show! i just can't explain how much i miss her presence in this now yawnworthy show. the reason is the connection. i can connect so much with them. is like a slice of your own life being shown 😆. the scenes were light and we got few emotional ones too (but thankfully nothing ove the top)
aah the video you posted above! its one of many awsome and favourite scenes! the most simple entry with two mugs of coffee and the irritation in mayank's face which is natural (oh cummon even i get irritated if my mum disturb's me in my last minute study, just tat mayank is all tensed abt tis 'project' of his 😆)..so i say connection 😆
later the coffee exchange, "apni wali piyega toh itni nahi lagegi". i don't know y but love tis dialogue, just can't explain why 😆
next the "tujhe nahi pata mein kyun nahi so rahi"..... and the way both complete ech other's sentences...'meri ma aur sawah nau ki local kabhi late nahi hoti' (any guesses y Mr Sharma is so punctual 😆)...
i really love the fact ki they are there for each other, being a single mother she ha no one but him, and same goes for mayu and they both know tat.
and the dhamki she gives later on...'mein check karney aungi' lol super cute!! and the cherry on the cake was balon ko mat chuo 😆... i simply love her mother's obsession with his hair (gosh even my mum is obsessed with mine 😆).....
the fact tat mayank becomes a complete child in front of his mum, like an open book which only his mum can read, cause he believes in doing things on his own 😆....but as they say mom knows evrything.. one indirect help or advice and problem solved 😃
and yup as u say thanks to vaishnavi ji (i see theis thread is dedicated to shilpa aunty..i went n to write abt how awsome the secen u posted is 😆 am sorry for tat) and arjun for bringing life and chemistry to tis wonderful pair tat we hardly see the difference of onscreen and offscreen 😊
i want to rite pages and pages...but yeah tis is definately not my last post here.
thanks a lot for opening this wonderful thread!!

@smile843

Let me paraphrase Mayank, if I may, 'when she (or such beauty) is before me, inspirations just flow….'

Seriously, the beauty, wit and love encapsulated in Mayu/Shilpa Aunty moments is so breathtaking and heart warming, it is my honour to submit such a post, which I created with much trepidation and humbleness, as I understand the respect their have garnered in everyone's heart.

@Dolly18

Dear Dolly no problem. I intend to have the next update sometime over the weekend.

@nanditasingh

I am do glad that you commented. I love reading your posts, I love your dry wit! Thank you so very much.

"...i love the comparison you drawn with Mr Darcy's character...."

If he had just been a carbon copy, it would have been 'nice' to witness, however Arjun, the creators and other actors, (for do not their reactions, interactions become part of the whole persona of Mayank?) created a whole new awe inspiring character.

I love P&P, but my all time favourite Jane Austen book is Persuasion. Captain Wentworth may not live up to Darcy/Mayank standards but he has his own charm!

I also preferred Jess' take on that scene. I think if we had never scene Mayank/Shilpa Aunty moments, Mayank Sharma the sweet boyfriend would have become an incorrectly fitted puzzle, but seeing Mayu, the puzzle makes sense.

"the CVs really have no clue that they have taken out a big chunk out of the very soul of Mjht by keeping Shilpa aunty away"

She was the highlight of every episode she appeared in. She was instrumental in Mayank's development. As were other wonderful and strong female role models, CJ and Tamana Mam. They directed him towards betterment and encouraged that 'shy' Romeo or as we call him 'Mayu' inside of him, to find courage and express himself.

Can I encourage you to write some ff or even thoughts of Little Mayank and Aunty Shilpa scenes or even post Nupur scenes? I would love to hear people's varying hopes and dreams for these wondrous characters.
