Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor wrap up Sunny Sanskari ki Tulsi Kumari ahead of October release

The filming of Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, directed by Shashank Khaitan, has officially concluded. Varun Dhawan, who leads the project alongside Janhvi Kapoor, shared the update through a series of behind-the-scenes pictures and videos on Instagram.

In the post, Varun appeared with co-stars Janhvi Kapoor, Rohit Saraf, Sanya Malhotra, and Maniesh Paul, all sporting character t-shirts as a backdrop read “It’s a wrap, almost.” He captioned it: “SUNNY SANSKARI KI TULSI KUMARI is done!!! Mein phir se aa raha hoon @shashankkhaitan ki direction mein... Oct 2nd.”

Janhvi responded in the comments with a lighthearted “Mera Sunny sabse sanskari.” Later, she joined Khaitan, Rohit, and Sanya in a joint post that read: “We had too much fun making this, and you’re going to have too much fun watching it. Mark your calendars for October 2 coz it’s going to be too hot to handle.”

Akshay Oberoi, who plays a significant part in the film, described the atmosphere on set as “a fun joint family experience.” Reflecting on the shoot, he said, “The energy was electric. Working with Varun, Janhvi, Sanya, and Rohit has been a joy. And with Karan Johar producing and Shashank Khaitan directing, the film carries heart, humour, and entertainment. I’m eager for audiences to see the world we’ve built.”

The film, produced by Dharma Productions, has faced multiple postponements. Initially scheduled for release on September 12, it is now set to arrive in theatres on October 2.

Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari also marks the second on-screen pairing of Varun and Janhvi after their 2023 collaboration Bawaal. The project aims to deliver a light-hearted romantic narrative backed by a large ensemble and Dharma’s signature mainstream style.
