Their voices gave way.......Naina had touched him.....or was it something else......no.....it cant be.....but....if it was him.....we was probably crushed under the weight of his jeep......
"Ohh......", Naina couldnt bear anymore.....but she struggled on.....
"Ruk ja Naina.....kuch karna padega........."......it was impossible.....the two of them couldnt lift up the jeep.....or pull him out......and the worst of all, the darkness....it didnt allow them to get a clear view of the situation.......
"Kya karein?"
"Aalekh....", something stirred in her mind.
"Hmmm?"
"Bike......bike le aayein....."
"Yahan......Naina yeh to slope hai.........'
"To...."
"Huda......main......theek hai....par tu yahin rehna.......yahinch!"
Aalekh sprinted towards his bike......and Naina sat down near Rajveer....to try and sense life in him.....to check whether there's any movement.....is he still even remotely in his senses......
....she knew she was expecting too much......he had passed out when he had called her......his voice full of pain.........she hoped.....hoped.....against hope!!
When she felt Aalekh come back.....
"NAINA...."
"AALEKH.....MAIN YAHAN HOON.....JALDI KAR!"
And he came there ......switched on the lights of his bike.....that was quite adequate for the two cadets to get a view of the situation......
......After struggles for an hour and a half.....they could free the scarred, injured, and unconscious Rajveer from the jeep.
"Ab?"
"Ab....inhe infirmary yah fir city hospital le jana padega........"
"Magar inhe bike pe nahin baitha sakte......nahi chalne wala distance hai......kya karein?"
"Hmmm......ek kaam kar, tu jaa.....KMA.....aur Dr. Shalini ko bata.....woh zaroor kuch karegi.....fetch help!"
"Aur tu......yeh Captain sir to hosh main nahin hai.....tu akeli?"
"Haan.....main yahin hoon....Sir ke pass.....tu jaa......"
"Naina.....hil na mat yahan se....."

It had been nearly an hour since Aalekh had left......but the rout back to KMA....was itself one and a half hour long.....so it was still quite some time for him to arrive.........
She sat there.....Captain Rajveer.....lay motionless.....under pattering rain....under that tree......
.......suddenly................
She heard some rustling nearby.....was it an animal.....no........cannot be.........this jungle doesnt have any.........she heard footsteps..........
Naina alarmed........someone was already following Captain.........could it be them?.........
.........she pulled Captain near her....and made him stand.....lean on her with great difficulty....she moved swiftly to nearby bush......then to another......slowly after 30minutes, they came near the lake.....at a place perfectly hidden in the bushes.....and an old rock formed likeliness of a cave.....she pushed him inside.....to save him from chill and rain..........

It was obvious Aalekh hadn't found her......as she had moved from the place they had promised to meet............it was hours since the friends had separated...........
No sign of help....and no improvement in Rajveer.....exception of a few slight movements.......made Naina go pensive........worried..........scared!
It wasnt anything.....but she thought he needed treatment.........he was in pain...........why does this always happen to him.......loosing his friend......then having to shoot him.........then Naina didnt trust him........then that fatal accident.........and now.....this..........why did he get most of the pain..........she couldnt see him like that.....with occasional utterance of pain.....
They lay there....in that cave....
naina had the first aid kit with her still but...the cotton the bandages were nearly soaked...
naina took out the bandages however and somehow managed to wrap a few wounds...
rajveer trembeld again..
"sir??.."
"uh!!!..huh??!!!..nain.....pani....pan.."
oh god...where was she going to get the water from...
they were in the middle of nowhere...and now water..
sona lake...
yes sona lake...
but how cud she leave rajveer alone here..no she cudnt go out to fetch water...
naina took out a ball of cotton and stretched out her hand...
the rain was lashing out with all its might...
the cotton was soaked in no time...
naina sat down beside rajveer and lifted his head to rest it on her lap...
she squuezed the water out of the cotton....the drops of water were like fragments of new life to rajveer...
his throat was dry...he was tired ...fatigued...

naina looked at his peaceful face...there was an unexplained tranquility..
a tear rolled down naina's cheek..and it fell on his face...
no she cudnt sit here looking at his bruised tired form..
naina tried to get up but ..rajveer held her hand...
"woh nirdosh hain...kuch..nahi kiya...meine....meine nahi maraa...woh..naina...naina..."
"sir??..sir mein yahan hun..."
he gripped her hand tight...naina had an instinct to protect him..
it seemed a lost child looked for comfort..and at the mere mention of her name the fear gripping his heart seemed to settle down..
a serenity took over..
naina put her arm round his neck...and she pulled him close..
and like an insecure infant rajveer clung on to her...in her arms..close to her heartbeat he found solace...
.it had been ages since aalekh had set out to search for naina
accompanying him in the army jeep on the road a patient dr.shalini...

he storm seemed to be in two minds...for a few seconds the winds rested and then all of a sudden they lashed out as if they were to bring a city to its end...
the rain cotinued its reign...it felt the clouds were to shed their load one last time...
the night grew darker and the cave beame colder...
naina held rajveer colser still...shivering...trembling...but protecting him..
rajveer slept heavily unaware of the storm...one seemed to be inside him though..an unexplained storm wich compelled him to suddenly wake..and move closer for support..
aalekh was angry at naina for having left the place..he wandered alone...lost in the jungle...shouting out their names..
the spare torch in his hand was announcing its end...no..he cudnt affor o be lost again...not wen naina needed him...but why did she have to move away...
meanwhile in the cave a now tired naina waited....it seemed endless...
rajveer in the crook of her arm...naina cud sense a slumber overcome her...
the little light of the lightening seemed to slowly dim out as naina feld her eyelids becoming heavy...
she had to be there for him...protect him..he neede her...rajveer sir...rajve...
"naina??.."
"huh??han???sir!!???sir aap??sir aaap khade nahi ho payenge dont try sir.."
"no naina..hume yahan se nikalna hi hoga..woh..woh mujhe dhoondh rahe hai...hum..dono hi mare jayenge naina...cmon lets go..aaah!!!"
rajveer had tryd to move forward but his acute pain got better of him...
"sir.."in a raflex naina's hands moved forward to support him..
somehow after the slumber rajveer lokked fresher..but was it possible..
"kya dekh rahi ho cadet. singh..we have to move...plzz come on.."
"yes sir...chliye..dheere..sir...SIR DHHEEERE.."
rajveer had tripped again..
"shhhhh!!chup ..v cant afford to make a noise.."
"sir kya yahan se nikalna thik hoga???aalekh hume dhoondh raha hai jungle mein.."
"no cadet we cant stay here..uske aadmi har jagah faile hain.."
they walked with great difficulty as naina supporting rajveer cudnt walk properly..after all lending support to a strong young man like that wasnt an easy task..
they had coverd quite a stretch of the jungle..
"waise mein kitni der behosh tha??.."
"kafi der tak sir..mein aur aalekh raat ke sade teen baje yaha ayye the...aur ab to subah hone wali hai..it may be around 6 am sir.."
"meri ek phnoe call par aise a gayi???"
naina stopped..
he was looking at her as if questioning her..asking her why she gave him all that pain and now why today did she come running to save the same man she had accused of her brother's murder..
"meine naveen ko nahi ma..."
naina had put her hand on his lips..

"sir..woh.."
shh..i thnk wahan koi hai...oh..shit hum jungle ke beecho beech hai..naina we have to hurry for cover..jaldi naina..fast.."
suddenly the graveness of the situation dawned on them..they were aboyut 20 steps away from a bush...20 steps away from life..they hurried..if only...they cud reach it in time...
