But she also knows that Sonakshi and Dev are not ready to live together. That although they care for each other as parents, they are not like Bijoy and Asha who are happy with each other. She has also seen how Jotin has taken care of her mom, how Sonakshi is happy with him. Till now Sonakshi and Jotin's marriage talks has happened behind Soha, not in front of her. If Jotin says that he will not take Dev's place as her papa, but will marry Sonakshi to take care of her and will be Her(Soha's) Jotti as she calls him now always, Soha would want Sonakshi to marry Jotin. Especially since she will see Bijoy's happiness in it.

3) Dev -- Post leap when he talks about Sonakshi and their love, be it with Golu or Ishwari, he doesn't refer to it as a "mistake". He owns that he was not a good husband, calls himself nakaam pati. He also thinks Sonakshi was too good and he wasn't good enough and will never be one. He also knows that Ishwari will never accept Sonakshi and since Sonakshi herself doesn't love him there is no point in trying to convince his mom. Dev has come to believe that Sonakshi does not love him and he thinks only of Soha. If Sona marrying Jotin makes Soha happy, then he will also make peace with it and not do anything that he thinks might upset Soha.

3) Sonakshi-- she has been living with the guilt for the past 7years. She calls her falling in love with Dev as a "mistake" which given a chance would like to mend it. She thinks she should have listened to Bijoy and because she didn't, he was insulted(slap by Dev), her family was hurt, thrown to the streets and she is solely responsible for all that. In the segment Bijoy made it clear that he doesn't want Dev anywhere near Sonakshi or Soha. He will definitely remind her of the insults that he had to endure because of her trusting Dev. Of all the things they had to bear since then.

This will prompt Sonakshi to reconsider marrying Jotin and say yes as she will see this as the way to redeem herself for all the distress caused by her to her family. This is also important for her as she thinks she takes her own decisions and is not unduly influenced by Bijoy or anyone. Doing so she will be in the same place as Dev, where she is trying to secure happiness to others even if is momentarily. She has to understand Dev in order to begin the healing process.

Only when she accepts that her falling in love with Dev was natural and not a "mistake", that she did not do anything wrong in wanting that love, will she be able to trust Dev again as her spouse. Only then will Dev and Sonakshi come together.

Like you say above, Sonakshi rejected him when they broke up - and breaking up was his choice wasn't it? She didn't open her mouth ever and say 'She made a mistake by loving him or marrying him'. We are repeatedly shown what she thinks of Dev as a father for her child. She doesn't doubt his love for their child.

Unless Dev can prove himself as a good lover/husband, I don't want Sona to live with him. I'd rather she give Soha away to the Dixits and walk away with dignity.

So why exactly do we think it is Sona who is wrong in all this? I can understand the need for sympathy to Dev but what is Sona's fault?

The beauty of KRPKAB is that there is no black and white characters, except maybe Ayaan. Even maami and Vickky are not completely black, they are just darker shades of grey. The breakup was not just a result of Dev or Ishwari's mistakes, Sonakshi and Bijoy are also responsible for it. If Ishwari was driven by her insecurities and fear, Bijoy was driven by pride and ego. Is Ishwari wanted to retain absolute control over Son, Bijoy was not ready to let go of his daughter either. Both Dev and Sonakshi respected and mirrored these parents. Both of them let their parents interfere in almost everything.

As much as Dev or Ishwari need to introspect , accept their follies that lead to the breakup, Sonakshi and Bijoy need to do the same. Pride goes a long way before fall and there is no such thing as a selfless act in pride. It is true that Sonakshi did a lot of things for Dixit family, bore all the taunts and all, but most of the times it was not for selfless reasons. For Sonakshi it was about making her fairy tale come true and from her view, a "happily ever after" meant a family mirroring Bose family. She set out to place Dev as Bijoy and Ishwari as her dida and herself in Asha's place without completely understanding the role played by Asha. Also she did not stop to listen or give time to make this happen. Her fear of losing Dev acted as a catalyst and Sonakshi wanted her vision come true in a short period of time.

Dev might have said the words get out, but he had always told Sonakshi that he loved her and was committed to her. He kept proving it over and over, but in the end he got tired of it. Hence his disappointment.

All these main characters are now placed in such a way that they are emulating the characters that they judged others the most. Dev is now fighting for acceptance, understanding the struggle Sonakshi went through with his family during marriage phase. Sonakshi is learning how guilt can overshadow good decision making and make someone so vulnerable that will lead to committing blunders.

Ishwari is realizing how her interference and fear is costing her son to not have real happiness. How she is responsible for not giving him the freedom that he deserves. Bijoy on his end will realize that pride, ego and arrogance are not virtues. That he has not really followed what he preaches regarding absolute morality and will eat his share of humble pie.

I am so sad today after reading the views in the thread- I may be in the minority-
I can't accept sona- Jatin marriage.
Even soha agreeing to this & deciding on this- can't think.
I can't think other than devakshi.
Probably I may be the only one who would stop watching this show if this track happens.

I don't want reunion in the end or Dev be a last choice for sona.
If sona marries Jatin , I want a beautiful & understanding girl for Dev who can bring happiness in his life-
I don't think loving someone & thinking her as a part of himself is a crime.

Lastly I wouldn't want soha to agree to sona- Jatin marriage.
She is dev's daughter!! After seeing her papa's love for her , she should not agree.
Sorry for my rant- please don't bash me.
I know it is only a hypothetical scenario- I couldn't imagine that only-

But in this situation max to max they can go to proposal from Latin. Not more then that. Sona might get agree to that she will try to think jatin as a, life partner but not more then that. We required to see what soha wants she, wants, dev and, sona, together or she want a family like, a, normal child. According to some spoilers, on the wedding day, Soha will say she doesn't want Sonakshi to marry Jotin and wants Dev both as her papa and husband of Sonakshi.Following this Sonakshi will cancel the wedding and return to IN with Soha.
