@ Bold red. Ishwari did not disapprove of Natasha, but she didn't approve of her either. It was shown several times how Ishwari was fighting very hard to accept the truth regarding Dev's engagement or marriage talks. The reason she did not show her displeasure in a direct manner is because she did not see Dev depending on Natasha emotionally. What Ishwari saw was that Dev still came to her for advise and she was still his confidant. Here Ishwari also knew that Natasha meant a big deal to Dev's business and for his growth as businessman. And she did not want to be the hurdle in Dev's business development.@ bold blue. Dev on some level knew of his mother's possessiveness regarding him. Also he did not want to share Sonakshi's love with anyone else. Till Sonakshi came in his life, he had not wished for anything for himself in his life. He had to share everything he ever had with his family all his life. I am not saying it is a wrong thing, but a person would like to have something for their own and Dev did not have anything for his own. Even the money he earned was for his family and not for himself. He wanted to prolong the disclosure for as long as possible. He knew that one day he would have to, but he was procrastinating, just like Sonakshi did with revealing Soha to Dev. She knew she had to do it one day, but was not sure when that one day was(thanks Sam 😊 ). Hence he wasn't really prepared for what followed the revelation.@bold pink. Bijoy rejected Dev immediately after meeting Ishwari even before the initial breakup. It is true that when he came to know that Dev had told his mom, he wanted her to take her time romancing her. But when Sonakshi tried to learn cooking, he immediately became agitated and concerned. He adamantly told her that she should not change and anyoen who makes her question herself was not good enough. Here neither Dev nor Ishwari had asked her to learn anything. She had taken the initiative herself. Following her trying to learn cooking, Bijoy decided to visit IN and talk to Ishwari. When Ishwari said that she wan not very happy with Dev -- Sonakshi's love, Bijoy recanted his acceptance of their relationship. He told Sonakshi to reconsider and did not think him good enough for her. This was even before the initial breakup in the hospital. 😊@ bold purple. It is true Bijoy and Asha are a pair. But they do have their strengths and weaknesses. As much as Sonakshi was influenced by Bijoy, Saurabh was influenced by Asha. If we see season 1, it is very clear most of the time how Sonakshi and Saurabh mirror Bijoy and Asha. They formed a wonderful pair because of Asha being who she is. Sonakshi did not fully understand Asha's role in maintaining the relationships. Sam has written in detail regarding the dynamics between this pair(sorry don't remember the thread link. But this is kind of the summary of it.).@ bold green. Bijoy is not just protective, but over protective. He usually doesn't follow what he preaches. His treatment of Saurabh is the example. It is just because Saurabh took it all in good humor, it did not seem bad. Bijoy wanted a partner like Ritwick or Jotin for Sonakshi without thinking if they were the kind of partner she wanted. Bijoy never really understood what Sonakshi was looking for in a partner. When Sonakshi married Dev, she was looking for support and acceptance from Bijoy, but she did not find either one. Anytime Sona did anything, Bijoy would immediately think it is Dev's doing and when something happened, he did not hold off saying "I told you so". He might not have used the exact words, but made it abundantly clear of his disapproval and I told you so.@ bold violet. True that we all take pride in our upbringing, but this pride should be under control. Here I would like to add Pride and Prejudice. In that although Darcy has all the good qualities, he is still considered as "proud" because of his behavior. I have kids and my son is praised by a lot of people. It does make me proud, but it does not blind me to his faults. Here Bijoy has cultivated this understanding in Sonakshi that is perfect and flawless. There is no person on this earth without faults. Sonakshi has many flaws some of which are pride, conceit, ego and not accepting her mistakes.Even in season 1, before realizing she loves Dev, she interfered in Dev's family stuff, but did not really think it was wrong of her to do so. Especially when she had told Dev that he was not supposed to interfere in her life. She claimed she had good intentions for her interference. But it does not really mean that she had the right to interfere. And she never apologized when there were negative effects due to her interference.Similar to Dev's blind faith in his mom, Sonakshi too had blind faith in Bijoy's decisions. She agreed to marry Ritwick claiming it to be her decision, when in reality it was Bijoy's and not hers. She called Ishwari as "maa", but did she really think of her as maa in true sense. Did she behave the same way with Ishwari as she would have behaved with Asha. Similarly, Bijoy called Dev "beta", but did he consider Dev as his son in true sense. If he had considered Dev as son, he would not have asked Sonakshi to hide anything from him regarding his family. But he repeatedly encouraged her to hide things from Dev while telling her that Dev shouldn't hide anything.Only when Sonakshi and Bijoy accept that they are not perfect, that Dev is Sonakshi's perfect partner, will the true story unfold.I think KRPKAb is kind of illustrating certain proverbs and sayings in a beautiful way. One of them is "never judge a book by the covers". Till now Sonakshi has judged Dev based on what she has seen so far, that is the cover of the book. She hasn't really understood Dev completely as she declares. There are several chapters to go for the main story to become a little clearer.
Nice analogies and similes.
Sona's concern was a treat to watch. She particularly liked the fact that Dev owned the father-daughter relationship and placed it over and above every possible excuse. This is exactly what she has been craving for. She could not get it, but wants Dev to give that to Soha. Its hard to predict the future tracks. However, Sonakshi needs to see Dev and Soha happy with each other. That was my biggest take away in the last few days.
I am not so sure about Sona not knowing Dev's feelings. In some ways both of them don't know each other's and their own feelings. However, they can sense the connection is already there.
What did Soha mean when she said Thanks for saving my mother? Dev saved everyone at the camp by catching the snake?
As for the Mandals, there are a lot of possibilities. I am happy to wait and watch.
Jatin and Sonakshi alliance - No comments. It can go either ways to be fair.
Shaavi - Your symbolism is amazing. Makes sense and I loved reading them all
I still have a few pages to catch up. This thread is a lovely read today

You are again telling what you want😆.
Not entirely sure what you mean but I am just going to taking in good spirit. I hope I wasn't forcing my views.
Anyways don't misunderstand me. Even I would love a scene in which Dev understands all his mistakes, asks for Sona's forgiveness and kicks Ishwari out of his life. I would also not want Sona to forgive him easily. In fact I would prefer if she asks him to make his entire property jointly held in their name as security against his greedy and cheap family. But based on the charactisation shown in the past one year, I know that is not going to happen. Sonakshi is too soft and too big a hopeless romantic for this to happen. So I have to accept the characters as they are. The way we accept the characters in a movie or a novel. We can like them or hate them but we can't have them as per our specifications
You are right here. We can only interpret what we see based on our situation. For example, what you say about property as security would never even cross my mind :-)
Me too hopeless romantic is a hopelessly pragmatic world!

Every individual is different. For Sonakshi it is impossible to live without Sona. I can easily understand and appreciate that because I am the same. Make me walk on live coals but can't stay without my son. My ex husband was hundred times Dev, but if he had won the custody case, I would have taken back the divorce case. No second thoughts about it.Also, There is nothing demeaning about it. In the show also, The mother in Sonakshi overpowers the woman in her and so if the worst scenario comes, Sonakshi will follow Soha.I would personally prefer Sonakshi to sit with Soha and explain to her that papa and his family was not good to mummy and her grandparents and therefore it is not possible for her to go. She can explain that people can be very nice to people they love and bad at the same time to those whom they don't.Soha is shown quite sensible and will understand. But if Soha acts unreasonable, Sona would have no option but to bend.I said that day in pehchaan's post also, we all are judging the show by keeping ourselves in their place. But the leads are not us. What makes you or me feel happy or satisfied will not make Sonakshi happy. Even in our family, is the happiness and needs of two sisters same?We want redemption of Dev, we want him to grovel before Sonakshi, but have we thought for two minutes what Sonakshi, the character wants?
