Varun Dhawan recalls portraying a drunken scene in Jug Jugg Jeeyo: 'Started drinking at 7:30 am and by 2 pm…'

During the filming of Jug Jugg Jeeyo, Varun Dhawan and Maniesh Paul shared a humorous experience. For a scene where Varun had to act drunk alongside Anil Kapoor, they decided to embrace method acting. They began drinking early in the morning, and by the afternoon, their speech was noticeably slurred.

Varun recounts a scene from Jug Jug Jeeyo

Varun Dhawan recounted a scene with Maniesh Paul and Anil Kapoor where his character delivered a drunken speech. To prepare, he and Maniesh began drinking at 7:30 AM.

Talking to Pinkvilla, the actor shared, During that climax scene with Anil sir, when they are renewing their vows, I get drunk and I give a speech. So we were supposed to be drunk. We started at 7:30 am. So Maniesh and I started drinking in the morning, and by 2 pm, we were slurring.

Afterward, he had to sober up, but because the scene wasn't completed, he had to repeat the process the following day. “And the next day, the shoot continued, so we had to drink again,” he added.

Varun on his father’s assistance

In an interview with ANI, Varun shared insights into his early career, starting with his experience assisting his father before his acting debut. Recalling a moment on set in Delhi, he described how he attempted to offer a suggestion for a shot, which was met with disapproval from the seasoned filmmaker. When it comes to work, my father sets aside all personal relationships...he has his own way of doing things. I remember once, during my internship on one of his films, I must have made a mistake, and I was suggesting how a shot should be done. But that wasn't his vision, and I wasn't at a level where I could say anything. I was too young. Then he said, Jab tum apni film banaoge ya jab ek mukaam pe pahuch jaaoge tab karlena ye sab. (When you make your own film or reach a certain stature, then do all this).

Varun Dhawan, like many across the country, celebrated the auspicious festival of Durga Ashtami on Tuesday, September 30th. He took to Instagram to share photos of the young children who were welcomed into his home for the puja.

The photos depicted Varun seated on the floor with five girls and one boy. The children were enjoying halwa, chana, and poori from paper plates and plastic glasses, while Varun ate from a steel plate. "?????? ?????? ?? ?????????? #bestmeal," Varun wrote with the post.

Varun Dhawan's next project is Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, a romantic comedy directed by Shashank Khaitan. The film, also starring Janhvi Kapoor, Sanya Malhotra, and Rohit Saraf, is scheduled for release on October 2nd.
