Earlier I used to believe no one should get a MIL like Ishwari, thanks to her manipulation, I would like to say now no one should get a mother like Ishwari. We have the freedom to choose our life partner but not our parents. Im not sure how many of you heard about 2 of the famous mythological characters yayathi's son puru and Bishma. Both of them sacrificed their life fulfilling the desires of their father. To me Dev looks like a reincarnation of Bishama. Bishama took an oath to maintain celebasy so that his father can marry again. Here Dev decided to live without his wife and child, to appease his mother. Whether it is correct or wrong is debatable. But we can't deny the fact there are, there were and there will be Devs in this world as long as we have mothers like Ishwari and fathers like santhanu ( bhishma's father) and yayathi.

Drcs, the name devrath is an indirect reference to the sacrifices Dev has had to make for his parent. To Sam's point about the hidden Meanings, I have noted various references and the way the makers put them in dialogues it's to remind us that there are similarities but not the same. D'ARCY and devdas being two.
Sam, I would say the show is becoming double meaning more and more. Season 2 is full of open endedness and I like that. Dev's celibacy status after the breakup being one such example. The role of elena, neha, riya and nikki in post breakup IN is another one. They pretty much leave it at "Jo sochna hai socho lo" because the viewers interpretation is another hero of this show.

This was felt heavily when the obvious dejavu were discussed. The subtle intertwined dejavu is where the real beauty lies. I made a post on the previous week thread on the same. I'll try and dig it up.

There is the "on the surface" story and then more deeper interpretation that is left with us viewers

The open ended scenarios are really confusing at times which are deliberate for viewers imagination and can be cleared in the later part of the story I hope we get a flashback of both Dev and Sona of the past 7 years. Also the use of the word Ram and Sita for Dev and Sona left by vicky left many doubts in my mind.I doubt Dev has had any relationship in the past 7 years d way he still claims his haq on Sona makes me feel that the husband in him has not died.

I don't know whether it's coincidence or makers choose it intentionally, devrath of Mahabharata is none other than bhishma. Devrath is another name of bhishma.

Siddhi, the Ram and Sita reference was another hint. He didn't say krishna and radha. So you have a point

PS: I personally feel he isn't celibate.

So many interpretations on that dialogue by Sona 😆
I agree with you Latha n Sam that it was kind of twisted. But then just like Dev's dialogue that he feels when she is hurt this one also had personal reference. If for Dev it was his inability to prevent her getting hurt because of his mother, here Sona might also have said it along the same line. She has been trying to prove herself these past seven years that whatever he has said on that fateful day was wrong. She was not a gold digger, didn't marry him for her nikamma brother, she is also capable of making money i.e in crores using her professional capabilities and then she can be a mother and a good one at that. She came to prove her worth as a woman that day and when asked to turn back didn't inform about the baby for this reason. In her mind she have now answered or proved all his allegations to be false. So this final one now that she is a liar, that also she had to prove isn't it?

P.S: Haven't read all the posts on yesterday's episode. Just read Sam's reply on Latha's post. Having one of the worst migraines. But just had to reply. 😆

@livelife wowww. ..that's great to hear...Bhishma and Dev have lots of similarities. Dev knows the evil intensions of GKB but remained silent same goes to Bhishma he didn't object to the atrocities of kauravas against pandas and stayed solid with them. Yup they have their share of bloopers still I feel CVS of this show try to do lots of justice to the storyline.

Guys what do you think still binds the viewers to the show, 6 weeks over 30 episodes, lead pairs are at loggerheads, forget about romance they don't even smile at each other, still the viewers are gaga over it and panicked if they hear that show is ending? Whatz d reason you think?

@geena, take care and have proper rest dear. Migraine is a real night mare.

As I have mentioned in one of my previous post in this thread, my take on Dev's bitter words in the farm house is bit different. Calling her gold digger after she signing and throwing prenup doesn't make any sense to me. When all are seeing the hurt he caused to Sona by those words, I felt he is trying to convey how much he is hurt with her believing his signature on prenup by saying those hurtful words. As he told her in Shima, she also should know how much he is hurt with her words or actions. It's as simple as him challenging her by saying if you believe that I can betray you by signing prenup then believe these words also. He himself never believed those words and she too knows that but unfortunately she took those words on its face value because both are in the most vulnerable state at that moment. So I can't blame anyone there.

Yes Latha, my take on his words are also different from Sonakshi's take. I was only stating her POV when she uttered that dialogue. 😃

P.S: Thank you Latha. It was a nightmare this time and ended up going to the hospital. Much better now.
