Actor Navein Prakaashh, who currently plays Dev Virani in the reboot of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, recently spoke about his journey and his experience of being part of the iconic show. Interestingly, acting was not his first career choice. Navein revealed that he initially aspired to become a news anchor. However, his path changed during college when he began participating in theatre, which gradually sparked his interest in acting.

Originally from Patna, Bihar, Navein moved to Mumbai in 2020 with the hope of building a career in the entertainment industry. After arriving in the city, he enrolled in acting classes and attended several workshops to better understand the craft. Despite landing his first show, the journey that followed was far from easy. He shared that the past two years have been particularly turbulent, both professionally and personally. Surviving in Mumbai proved challenging, but patience and perseverance helped him stay focused and continue auditioning for new opportunities.

Struggles, Patience, and Perseverance

Reflecting on his journey, Navein admitted that the struggle after his first show was real. He faced multiple rejections and uncertainties, which tested his resolve. The actor described this phase as difficult, especially while balancing personal challenges alongside professional setbacks. However, instead of giving up, he chose to remain consistent and patient. According to him, these two qualities played a crucial role in helping him move forward during a challenging period of his life.

Today, Navein sees his role in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi as an important milestone. In the show, he plays Dev Virani, the son of Sahil Virani, portrayed by Sandeep Baswana, and Ganga Virani, played by Shilpa Saklani. The reboot also marks the return of Smriti Irani and Amar Upadhyay as Tulsi and Mihir Virani, making the project special for both the audience and the cast.

Working Around Smriti Irani on Set

Speaking about shooting for the show, Naveen shared his thoughts on working alongside Smriti Irani, a well-known politician and former Minister of Education of India. Although they have met on set, Navein revealed that they have not yet shared screen space, as her character is currently away from the Virani household. However, he expressed keen anticipation about eventually performing scenes with her.

Navein described Smriti Irani as elegant, poised, and undoubtedly brilliant at her work. He sees the opportunity to work with her as a learning experience and considers it a valuable moment in his acting journey. He shared that he is grateful for the chance and is hopeful about sharing scenes with her soon.

Apart from Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Navein has also been part of Sapnon Ki Chhalaang. The show introduced several new faces following a six-year leap. It premiered on July 29, 2025, featuring actors like Rohit Suchanti, Tanisha Mehta, Shagun Sharma, and Aman Gandhi in second-generation roles.
