Here's the easy solution,

Dev: Maa, I already ate at Sona's house. But since you cooked for me, I will eat a bite of your cooking too.

Polite, thoughtful, truthful and admirable.

Why does Dev always defaults to lies when the truth is much simpler?

Precisely because Ishwari believes that Dev doesn't lie to her, all blame will fall again on their "new relationship" and Sona. You just wait and watch.

Well we all know that Dev doesnt hesitate to lie .. He lies left and right when ever he gets a chance justifying that he is trying to protect someone or trying to not upset someone or what not.. But he lies all the time .. The only thing is ishwari things dev never lies to her.. But unfortunately he lies mostly only to her..and ishwari lies to dev with out any hesitation...so i have no hopes for mom and son atleast in the near future...

To make changes in dixit household, dev has to first start speaking truth only thenwe can expect any change

I just want Sona to stand up and say it to her face " yes .. agar sab ko batadeti tho dev keliye jo surprise plan kiya tha woh kharab ho jaata tha "" bass aur kuch nahi... she doesnt even have to stay and hear any of their taunts...

two things... Dev needs to start speaking truth and only truth (start carrying a pocket bhagavat geetha is it helps_... (forget about supporting sona .. that is second on the list).

Sona needs to just speak her mind and move on and not stay there to hear Ishwari's reaction or encourage her to emotionally blackmail using the victim card.

Yeah right. If Sona even says that, Dev will go like, "Kuch kuch past mein hua tha, tum nehin samjhogi." Sona ka bad luck hi kharab hain.

The day Dev speaks the truth and nothing but the truth, that day Ishwari will get her bamboo which Dev will never do to his Goddess. So hamara bhi bad luck kharab hain.

just saw the episode and precap. i have a feeling sona made up a story to surprise Dev. and Dev told his mommy. and they got late cause Dev didn't wanna leave and again forgot to tell mummy they'll late getting hom😛 wrath will barso on sona though. either way... sona is learning the tricks of Dixit household. i must say.. she is a fast learner.. her saas and patidev are teaching her to lie as long as it doesn't hurt😉 so... how does her going on a date with hubby hurt anyone???? they are married couple. they can go wherever, stay as late as they want😆 why does mummji have to call and check their whereabouts??

Go Sona Go.. jee le apni zindagi👏 sassumaatajee ko ishwari niwas pe rraj karne de.. so much cooking, cleaning etc. to do👍🏼

yes, but Dev hasn't been brought up that way. he's been raised by a cheating, manipulative, self absorbed, jhoothi maa😡 who will do whatever to get what she wants.

Im a silent reader of this forum. Can I say a v simple thing. If u feel the cvs are not doing justice why you are wasting your precious time in watching something which you feel unrealistic. The cvs have creative freedom to write what they think appropriate and the viewers also possess the same right as the remote is in their hands. Nobody is complelling to watch the show. It's epitome of negativity to bash the cvs after the episode. If you think the serial is disgusting dont watch. Atleast the cvs have restrictions and have to adhere to certain norms. Where as the viewers have no compulsion nobody even bother if they stop watching the serial. This is atrocious... to watch the episode without fail and criticise everything. Hypocrisy personified thats alll I can say!

I agree it's the upbringing. It really annoys me when the makers keep saying it's a journey of good mother to a good MIL. Ishwari a good mother? Gosh! from which angle? I'm sure they must have changed the definition of "good" in their dictionary.

ive been saying the same thing. she is good from which angle? look at her offsprings.. they are emotionally weak people. she does everything to give pain to her own suputra!

Just watched the episode .As far as speaking the truth about Sona's medical reports is concerned,I have zero hopes of Dev telling it to Sonakshi.She will find it out some other way and it will create a huge drama.So,I wasn't surprised to see him hide the truth today.Dev is not thinking that by hiding he is only going to cause her more pain,not thinking about her right to know it,or the fact by talking about it,they can actually find some solution.

There was no reason to lie about dinner today.Is he going to give the excuse of difficult past for every small thing? He could have easily told the truth today.Haven't we seen so many times Dev skipping breakfast or dinner due to work? So what was the big deal today?

As soon as I heard Dev & Sona agreeing not to fight,I knew something of that sorts would be happening the next moment/episode🥱I wasn't wrong.There was no need to react the way he did when the only thing Sona was asking was about the need to lie regarding dinner.👎🏼

As for Sonakshi- I don't think she would lie regarding date to Ishwari🤔At least, I hope not.It's probably gonna be Dev who informs Ishwari about them visiting to her mama's place.But of course,Ishwari is going to blame Sonakshi and create a big emotional drama and Dev will probably stand mum and feel guilty.Again.
