Disha Patani’s father breaks silence on firing incident: 'The bullet missed me…'

Disha Patani's family is shaken after her Bareilly residence was fired upon in the early hours of September 12. The incident is believed to be linked to her sister Khushboo Patani's comments on Aniruddhacharya, which were mistakenly attributed to spiritual leader Premanand Ji Maharaj. Following the incident, Disha's father, Jagdish Singh Patani, revealed that he narrowly escaped being hit by bullets during the shooting.

"Eight to ten shots were fired, and the bullets passed very close to me. My dog started barking very loudly, and I got alerted. The bullet missed me by a very small margin. I just got saved," Jagdish Patani told Times Now.

In an earlier statement to ANI, Disha Patani's father clarified that Khushboo had been misrepresented, and her name was wrongly associated with the controversy involving Premanand Ji Maharaj. "We are Sanatanis, and we respect the sadhus and saints. It someone is misrepresenting her statement, it is a conspiracy to demean us."

About the firing incident at Disha's house

Authorities reported multiple shots fired, including two rounds of aerial firing around 4:30 am. Fortunately, no injuries were sustained.

Virendra and Mahendra, known as the Dhelana brothers, have claimed responsibility for the attack. In a social media post, they issued a warning to the film industry. "I, Virendra Charan, Mahendra Saran (Dhelana), brothers, today the firing that happened at Khushboo Patani/Disha Patani's (Bollywood actress) house (Villa No. 40, Civil Lines, Bareilly, UP), we got it done. She insulted our revered saints (Premanand Ji Maharaj and Aniruddhacharya Ji Maharai). She tried to demean our Sanatan Dharma. The insult of our deities will not be tolerated. This was just a trailer. Next time, if she or anyone else shows disrespect towards our religion, then no one in their house will be left alive," the message reads.

Khushboo Patani's remark

Khushboo Patani, a former army officer, criticized Aniruddhacharya Maharaj's comments on live-in relationships, which led to a misunderstanding where she was incorrectly perceived as criticizing Premanand Ji Maharaj. Following online trolling, she issued an official clarification and threatened legal action.
