Part 3

Mr.Walia looked at this girl and he didn't know what was happening to him. He thought that she was the most beautiful girl he has ever seen in life. Then he remembered that he was Mr. Jai Walia and he doesn't fall in love with anyone ever. He than realized that Bani, had her hand out to shake his and he was lost somewhere else. He shook her hand and told her of how nice the decorations were. Jai then introduced Bani to his masi and dadi. Bani being the perfect girl in values touched both of the elder's feet for blessings. Masi was already impressed. There was 30 minutes more till the pooja started and Jigyassa comes running out of the kitchen in an angry huff.

Jigyassa:"Jai Bhaiya, the cooks just quit the job as I told them there was too much salt in one of the vegetables. He screamed and said you always question my cooking and he walked out. No where are we to get food we can't order any as it's a pooja and food should be hoe cooked. Everyone is going to be here in 30 minutes. "

Jai:"Jigyassa why do you always taunt the cooks because of you we don't have any food to give to the guests, now what to do."

Bani was still standing there when she remembered the parsandam she had made in the morning to bring but left it at home as Pia was bugging her so she forgot. She then called Pia on her phone and told her to get ready and to bring the parsandam. She then told Tarun to go pick up Pia from her house.

Bani: "Mr.Walia, I heard your problem and I don't mind cooking a few items for you. I had made a lot of parsandam in the house this morning and I just send Tarun to go receive it. If you would show me your kitchen I could make some vegetables till then."

Jai: "Bani that is very sweet of you but I can't let you cook so much food by yourself and these are very important delegates coming for pooja and everything should be very rich and fancy."

Bani was thinking that this Mr.Walia guy was telling her that she was middle classed and couldn't cook; this was very depressing to her. She then rung up Pia and told her to bring the whole gang and she told her about the problem. Pia being Pia listened to Bani but always wondered why she helps everyone so much.

Bani:"You don't have a choice now, please show me the kitchen and I will start. My friend, Pia is bringing some people and we will cook together."

Bani started cooking the food; she wrapped her hair in a loose bun again and tucked her dupatta into her sari. She began cooking and she put her heart into every single item of food. Jai was walking around feeling very bad for this and Masi was admiring Bani even more. Pia then walked in with her friends and they began cooking and chopping the food. Ten Minutes before the guests were supposed to arrive all the food was prepared and it looked as if the finest chiefs in India cooked these dishes. Bani and Pia then quickly cleaned up everything in the kitchen and fixed their hair and make up again. The gang and Pia were leaving so Bani herself decided to leave to as the pooja looked as if for only fancy people. As she was leaving, Jai stopped her and told her that she must stay to receive credit for this wonderful pooja. Bani stayed and everyone enjoyed the decorations in the house. Tarun was very impressed with Bani, just like he always was. It was time for lunch and everyone walked into the dining area and sat down. Everyone was filling their plates with seconds of food and they were enjoying it a lot. Jai who by some chance had gotten to sit right next to Bani stared and Bani's plate after noticing she didn't take anything. Masi noticed this and asked Bani why she was not eating.

Masi: "Bani why are you not eating, you made this delicious food and you yourself are not eating."

Bani:"Ji, Masi. I have kept a fast today as it is Krishna's birthday and can only drink water."

Jai's face dropped as her realized that this girl who he barely knew helped a stranger like him and on top of that she was keeping a fast on this day and made lots and lots of food in front and still didn't stop helping him. Bani then got up and shook Mr. Walia's hand and thanked him for inviting her to the Pooja. She also thanked him for the wonderful compliments. She was then leaving when Tarun said that he would give her a ride. Bani said no and took a taxi home. She was sitting in her house when she remembered that she and Tarun were supposed to finish the presentation. She grabs her bag and heads to the office.

Part 4

Bani is about to call Tarun, when she remembers how much stress he has to go through everyday, and that he was supposed to visit his mom today. She decides to not bother him and finish the project alone. She is in the taxi when her cell phone rings.

Bani:"Hello, this is Bani speaking, may I know who this is please."

Tarun:"Hi Bani. Have you reached home yet?"

Bani: "Yes" she lied.

Tarun: "I am in London seeing my mom right now and she gives you her love. I will be staying in London for a week as her health is not doing so well. You will be able to handle everything in the office right?"

Bani:"Of course Tarun, you just take care of masi and give her my love too."

Tarun: "If you need any help with the office work don't hesitate to call me and Jai said he doesn't mind helping you if you need any. I will see you in a week, and Thanks Bani you rock."

Bani:" Tarun, no thanks between friends, okay and take care, Bye!"

Bani had reached the office and went into her cabin. She plugged her laptop into the outlet and put her hair into a loose bun. She started working on the presentation as she knew, now that Tarun was not here she would have to present the presentation herself. She had totally lost track of time when she heard her stomach growl. She looked at the clock and realized that it was one in the morning. She quickly picked up her flies and unplugged her computer. She was standing outside locking the door to her cabin when she heard footsteps in the hallway coming this way. She assumed the security people were probably doing a check of some sort. As she turned around she bumped straight into Mr. Jai Walia. As she had not eaten all day her body was weak compared to his and she fell on the floor with all the papers flying in the air around them. She keeled on the floor and began to pick up all the papers around her. Jai also bend down and picked up the papers on his side. He handed the papers to Bani and reached his hand out to help her get up.

Bani:"I am so sorry Mr.Walia, we keep bumping into each other, isn't that funny. Once again thanks for the invitation to the pooja it was very beautiful."

Mr.Walia: "Stop flattering me with your Thank You's. I should be the one to say thank you as you cooked all that food with keeping a fast."

Bani:"I was my pleasure, Mujhse Dosti Karoge!!

Mr.Walia: "Yea, of course."

Bani:"So no thank you's between friends so we are even."

Mr.Walia: "So if we are friends then can ask you have you eaten yet Bani? Also, don't call me Mr.Walia way to boring and formal, just Jai.

Bani:"No I haven't. I am going home now and will just eat whatever is in my fridge or in the morning."

Mr.Walia: "First of all I won't let my new friend go home in a taxi at this time of night and I can't let you go home on an empty stomach. Come on lets go pick up something from McDonalds."

Bani:"Mr. Walia…..I mean Jai. Don't worry I have some food in my refrigerate."

Mr.Walia:"I bet you it's not as tasty as a nice warm sandwich and some hot chocolate."

Bani: "Okay your right, let's go."

This is a short part as I have school tomorrow. Enjoy!!!

Bani and Jai walked downstairs to his car. Neither of them was feeling shy around the other, it was as if they had been friends for 20 years. Bani talked about her life in Mt. Abu and how lonely it had become since she moved to Bombay. Jai talked about his business, family and friends. They got in the car, and Jai turned on the radio, they were still talking but not looking at each other as Jai was driving. Then the song Mujise Dosti Karoge came on!!! They both began to laugh.

Jai:"Bani you know, maybe I will answer your question about being friends tomorrow. I don't know you may be some crazy lunatic for all know."

Bani:"Hey,I am not that bad. you could be crazy for all I know."

Jai:"ok,ok sry so here we are what do you want to eat."

Bani:"I will have a titi sandwich chuntey on the side and a nice hot chai please."

Jai:"wow, looks like your very hungry. Lets go eat inside as it already is raining and the food will get cold."

Bani:"Ok, good idea."

The two new friends went inside and enjoyed their warm sandwiches and hot chai. Jai went to go get the car while Bani was waiting outside near the roof. A couple of guys came around, and they were drunk. They started to grab Bani and take her inside of their car. She screamed and yelled but nobody heard her. Then Jai was coming in his car and noticed this. He got out of the car and punched each of the men until they were unconscious on the floor.

Jai:"Bani are you okay. I am sorry, this is my entire fault. I shouldn't have left you alone."

Bani:"Its okay, I'm fine, and its not your fault I should have stayed inside. Thank You for saving me."

She pecked him on the cheek; he didn't know what had happened to him. A whole passion for her developed throughout his body for her. When he was punching the guys all he could think about was how dare they touch his bani. They got into the car and Jai dropped Bani to her house. She thanked him for the dinner and for saving her life once again. He promised her he would help her with her presentation in the morning and bid her farewell. Jai and Bani slept very peacefully that night thinking of the dinner they had together and the feelings they felt for each other.
