Bani felt how the sun was burning on her skin. A nice breeze played with her hair. She was sitting in the sand with Anjali building a castle. She saw how Anjali's hair and face was covered by a litte sand, but it didnt seem to bother Anjali at all. She was too engrossed with her castle. When the were done a bright smile adnorned Anjali's face. She pointed towards her castle with one hand and with the other she signed to Bani to come and sit next to her. 'Do you like the castle?' Bani asked smilingly. Anjali nodded, lay her head on Bani's lap and strechted her legs in the sand. Bani knew what time it was. Anjali wanted a story to go with her castle. 'Once upon a time there was this beatiful girl ...' As Bani told a beautiful fairytale to Anjali she didnt noticed she was being watched by Jai who was sitting on a terras not far from them. 'Smile Bani and enjoy your smile. I bet you won't be smiling much later on.' He giggled to himself. His mobile rang and he picked it up with a short and firm 'yes'. The person at the other end of the line seemed to have good news. 'Perfect.', is all that Jai had to say. He hung up, payed his bill and with a hug wicked smile on his face walked upon Bani and his daughter. 'And my sweet princess, they lived happily ever after.' Jai dropped himself next to Bani. 'So my ladies. It seems Ive came right on time. The story is over and so is our day at the beach.' Both Bani and Anjali made faces. The day was still young and they were enjoying the beach too much to be leavingt his early. Anjali started giving Jai puppy faces and nodding her head. Jai burst out laughing and quickly hugged Anjali. 'Dont give me those faces my princess. You know I cant refuse you then. I promise Ill bring you back to the beach soon ok? As for now I have a special suprise for you.' By the word of suprise Anjali pushed her dad away from her and looked at him with big curious eyes. Jai enjoyed his daughters looks and without paying any attention to Bani he got up and lifted his daughter in his hand with great ease. Making her giggle like crazy. He walked towards the car and Bani didnt have much of a choice than to just follow them.
Bani finished her dinner and was watching how Jai and Anjali were having the biggest fun making a total mess out of their plates, the table and their clothes. Jai was starting to get on her nerves. She was the one who was supposed to ignore him and not the other way around, she thought in bitterness. Since morning he had only spoken to her if it was highly acquired and that too without looking at her. A deep sigh escaped her chest. She started looking around her, but there was nothing funny to be seen. 'If you are done spying on people we will leave.' Bani was taken aback by the sudden to her directed voice of Jai. She turned back at him at once, but there was no emotion on his face. He once again didnt pay attention to her. Payed the bill and got his daughter to the car.
Bani was looking out of the window car as her face was all grumpy. She suddenly remember that she hadn't spoken to Rano and Pia all day long. 'Dekho ... mr. Walia please stop the car over there. I need to make a phone call. Jai turned and looked at Bani's face. He reached for his mobile and gave it to here. 'Here call.' Bani didnt take the mobile. She softly shook her head. 'No, thank you. I will use a public phone.' Jai got irritated. 'I said take it!' Bani cleared her throat and now in an irritated voice replied back to Jai saying that she doesnt want his mobile and she rather use the public phone. 'Well suit yourself. I wont stop.' Bani was fuming, but she didnt say a word. Anjali felt the tension between the two adults in the car and pretended to be sleeping.
Jai kept stealing glances at Bani, but she was starring out of the windown constantly. He knew she would never use his mobile phone and it offered it to her on purpose. He didnt want her to phone anyone and give her an excuse to escape, before he would make a good deal with her. 'Just 10 more minutes miss Dixit!' and he smiled by that thought.
Bani felt how the car slowed down and stopped infront of a huge building. Jai got out of the car and as he hold a sleeping Anjali in his arms he walked towards the building. Bani followed them, while she was wondering where there were and what they were doing there. She stepped into the elevator and saw how Jai pushed the button for the tenth floor.
Jai opened the door of appartment number 417 and walked in. Bani followed him hesistantly. She saw how he walked straightly to another door. She walked into the appartement and looked around in amazement. It was furnished in a very trendy style. Totally different than the Walia Mansion. She wondered what they were doing there. 'Anjali is sleeping. Now lets get to business.' Bani looked at Jai. He pointed towards the sofa and asked her what she liked to drink. 'Paani please.' After getting Bani a glass of water Jai dropped himself in the chair infront of her. 'Ill get straight to the point miss Dixit. In order to take care of my daughter you have set some conditions. You refused to work for me and to take care of Anjali at the Walia Mansion. I agree to you conditions.' Bani smiled to her heart content. 'But I have my conditions also. Never will I alow a stranger to take care of my daughter without getting paid for it and I will certainly not allow that someone else but me will financially take care of my daughter while Im still alive. So I've thought of this solution. You will take care of Anjali. You will move here with us. In this appartment and you will get paid by the month.' Bani's mouth dropped open and she was all ready to attack Jai, but he raised his hand. 'I'm not done. This apartment belongs to Anjali and so does your salary. Anjali's mom was a wealthy woman and she has left all her property to Anjali. I don't think you can object. Ive accepted your conditions which means we have a deal!' Bani couldnt believe her ears.
