Part 20
Bani got out of the car. She waited for Jai to lead her to his house. She really never wanted to set another step there, but for the sake of Anjali she would step on her ego and walk in. When she was standing infront of the little princesses bedroomdoor she felt her heart beating faster. She was nervous. The last time she had see Anjali she was all happy and able to move the upper side of her body. She couldnt speak yet, but she tried to make little noises. Jai carefully opened the door, trying not to make any noise in order not to wake up Anjali. It was already past midnight. The both of them walked in tip-toeing. Like two thieves afraid to be caught red-handed. Anjali's room was lit by the moonlight. Bani smiled to herself as she remembered how scared Anjali always was for the dark. She always needed some kind of light in her room. Bani sat herself infront of Anjali and caressed her beautiful silk dark hair. She kept sitting like that for quite a while. Jai was sitting on a chair at the other side of the room. Giving both ladies a lovely look. He couldnt wait to see his daughters reaction. She would be thrilled to have Bani back with her. He saw how Bani planted a kiss on his daughters head and walked up to him. 'Bani ...', he wishpered. 'Thank you.' Bani seated herself in the chair next to Jai. 'There is no need to thank me mr. Walia. I haven't done anything for you. I'm here for Anjali and for Anjali only, because she is an innocent girl and I really love her.' Jai rose from his chair and arrogantly answered Bani back. 'I didn't thank you for me. I thanked you on behalf of my daughter who is sleeping right now. I think you also should go to your room and get some rest. Tony must have already prepared the guestroom for you. You will be staying there henceforth. Your sisters can move to here also. I will have their rooms made ready by tomorrow morning.' Bani was listening in disbelieve and couldn't believe that Jai had the nerves to command her and take such important decisions in her life on behalf of her. She got up in frustration. 'Listen mr. Walia. I think you didn't get me. I agreed to help Anjali. Not for you but for her, because she was able to make a special place in my heart. I agreed to help Anjali, but there are certain conditions. I will take Anjali with me to my house. She will be staying with me and my sisters and I will take care of her. I don't want you to pay me, because I don't need your money. As far as my job at the restaurant is concerned, I will drop my regisnation letter by tomorrow. You are free to visit your daughter at anytime. Other than you and Sahil I dont want any of your sick relatives visiting her. Once she is completely recovered you can take your daughter back.' Jai's mouth had dropped open. 'Are you out of your mind!' Jai's loud voice was heard by Anjali. Both Bani and Jai hold their breath. She opened her eyes, but when she didn't hear anything she went to sleep again. Bani gave an angry look to Jai and whispher in an angry tone that he should keep his voice down. Jai in frustration pressed his lips on each other and grabbed Bani by the arm. Pulling her out of his daughters room and pushing her inside his room. 'Here we can talk!' He let go of Bani's arm and she turned to face him with thunder written all over her face. Jai wasn't pleased himself. 'Look Bani, you must be crazy to think that I will hand you over my daughter! No not just crazy. Insane! Insane! Who the hell do you think you are. If I want I can get my daughter worlds best nurses, so who are you to come and put such ridicilous nurses.' Bani was walking up and down his room as he was giving his lecture. She hold her hand up. 'Stop it right there mr. Walia. I don't need to take all this from you! I'm Bani Dixit and unfortunately for you, your daughter wants me! Yes me and not the worlds best nurses! So you better stop waisting my time, cut the drama and tell me at once if you agree to my conditions or not.' Jai was swearing inside. Bani knew his weakest point and she was misusing it badly right now. He didnt have much of a choice. Jai's emtional state made Bani nervous. He hadn't spoken for atleast 5 minutes and just kept walking up and down the room, hitting his right fist againt his left palm. Mumbling things to himself, which she assumed where curses towards her. In a fit of anger and frustration he banged his fist against the wall, causing himself extreme pain, but he couldnt care less, as the pain in his heart was a million times worse. Bani was shocked and trembling all over her body. She felt very guilty for parting Jai from Anjali, but she knew that in order to be able to help Anjali she needed to get her out of the Walia Mansion, where there were people who didn't love her, who didn't care for her and even worse who wished her evil instead of good. Bani walked up to Jai who was leaning with his head on the wall. His hand was hurting like hell. He must have broken a finger or two. Bani hesistanly put a hand on his shoulder. 'Mr. Walia?', her voice was trembling. Jai turned around in anger. He litterly barked at Bani. 'Go and sleep. I will give you your answer in the morning.' He walked out of the room and slammed the door behind him. Bani dropped herself on his bed and let her emotions free.
The early strays of sunlight invaded Jai's room, waking up Bani. It took her a couple of seconds to realise where she was. She sat up and looked around her. A deep sigh escaped her chest and she pushed herself to get out of the comfortable kingsize bed. She walked into the bathroom and inspected her face. It was all swallen up and her eyes were still red from the many tears she had shed that night. She closed the door behind her and took a refreshing shower. When she got out of the bathroom she was suprised to see Tony standing infront of her. He was clearly more suprised to see her standing in Jai's room. 'Goodmoring miss Bani', he stuttered while wondering what she was doing in Jai's bedroom and bathroom. Bani didn't bother to answer him back. She was still mad with him for lying to her and keeping her away from Anjali. 'Put that tray down Tony and go bring the breakfast for miss Anjali. I'll be waiting in her room.' Tony hurriedly left the room and so did Bani after putting her earrings back. She walked into Anjali's room to be suprised by one of the most beautiful scene's she had probably ever seen. Jai was fast asleep holding Anjali tightly in his arms. Anjali seemed to have a very peacefull sleep as she was smiling from ear to ear. Bani felt how a warm feeling took over her heart and she kept looking at them with a lovely look on her face. Jai felt how the sunlight was fighting against his eyes. He didnt want to get up, but eventually he opened his eyes. He looked at his beautiful daughter and with a sad smile on his face he he gave her kiss and got up carefully. When he stepped out of the bed he was suprised to see Bani standing at the door. Her hair was wet and her face seemed swallon up. It was clear that she didnt have the best night of her life. Neither did he for that matter. When he realised that Bani was starring at him he quickly put his hand throuhg his messy hair and while murmling a grumpy goodmorning, without looking at her, he walked out of the room. Once Jai had left Bani couldnt help herself but to break into a giggle. She walked up to Anjali and lied down next to her on the same spot as where Jai had slept. His place was still warm and Bani could smell his cologne coming from the sheets and coushion. She gave Anjali a kiss and caressed her hair. 'You know princess, your dad is really what people call one of a kind!'
With a heavy heart Jai got himself changed in some of his more comfortable clothes. He fixed his tie in the mirror, while his eyes dropped to his bed. He could see the wrinkled sheets on the place where Bani had slept. 'We will see miss Bani Dixit who will make the best deal' He said to himself while giving a wicked smile. When he was about to finsih fixing his tie, he bedroom door was opened forcefully and furious Jigyasa barged in. 'Where the hell is she? How dare you get involved with a girl like her?' Jai looked in shock how his sister searched through his room and bathroom. She walked back to Jai and kept shouting in his face. 'Where is Bani Jai? How could you let a small town girl like her fool you?! How could you spent the night with her Jai?!' She got a tight slap back as an answer. Jai was furious. 'Whom I spent the night with and whom not, is none of your damn business. I'm your brother and not your husband. Next time don't barge into my room like this! And you better get the hell away from me, Bani and my daughter you hear?! Now get lost and don't show me your face untill I ask you to. There are a couple of important things I have to take care of first. Once I'm done I will deal with you!' Jigyasa kept standing watching her brother with big eyes and a hand on her burning cheek. Jai gave her a hateful looked and walked out of his room.
Anjali opened her eyes only to meet the pair of dark eyes she has been looking for the last couple of weeks. She was thrilled to see Bani infront of her. Bani smiled whole heartedly and took Anjali in a tight embrace. Both girls smiled and giggled while Bani made Anjali have her breakfast. Jai walked in and was happy to finally see his daughter smiling. Anjali enthousiastically made funny noises and nodded to her father, while point towards Bani. Jai was amazed. Anjali had been pretending all the while he thought. She could still move her upperside of the body, she just refused to do so. 'Are you naughty girl!' Anjali blushed as she knew she had sold herself out. Jai laughed and quickly hugged his daughter. 'Don't worry silly. I'm not mad with you. You have to know that papa loves you very much and even when he is sometimes an idiot!', he whishpered in her ears. He let go of her and hold her small face in his hands. 'Is my little princess happy?' She smiled and nodded her head. 'Have you been a good girl and have you had your breakfast?' She nodded again as her eyes were sparkling. 'Yes she did, mr. Walia.' Jai lifted his head and looked at the smiling Bani. Without returning a smile and with a poker face he told Bani to get Anjali ready for a day at the beach.
