AS I SAID.....IT IS THEIR DUTY TO ENTERTAIN US..... WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO CRITICISE.....It is appaling to see the person being called names by the so called fans of the actor/actress just because of some criticism.....
First of all swordfish let me commend you on putting up this post to begin with. I personally have gotten quite tired of the bickering and the baiting. Its fine to post what you feel, but when you know a post is going to ruffle feathers why bother to post it? I think people just have a different view of what pertains to bashing and what doesnt. I completely agree we should be able to criticize someones acting, because THAT is their job. To act. Were watching SONY, paying to watch it and as long as we comment on their job thats fine. But i think it crosses the line to start making remarks about a persons appearance or comment on anything of their personal lives. They are playing a character, that we can comment on because THAT is what we see. We dont know them personally nor do we associate with them personally. Just leave their families and personal lives out of it, comment on it in a nice peaceful nature but dont go criticizing their families for no reason at all. How would you feel if you were in their shoes? We all seem to forget that many actors come to IF and read what we say, criticizing clothes and acting is related to their acting but how do their families and bf/gf affect their jobs in any way? They dont.
I find it to be over the line when one comments on an actors personal life in a rude manner, be it physically or what not. What I have always felt it was okay to criticize about has been the job they do. Its the same as if a boss criticizes their employees typing skills. Thats the employees job. Thats fine. But what if he comments on how ugly they look? That I find to be very hurtful and crass.
Like Nitica, I am getting sick of the appeasing and the bashing being done by various groups. Dont suck up and dont start fights. Just post what you want but remember to keep in mind that if you want to be respected give respect as well. I just simply want all this to be swept under the rug so everyone can start fresh again. Dont get too overly sensitive about something but at the same time expect some people to be overly sensitive about the topics you post. So just be careful about what you say.
