Part 11

Adi informed Mayuri and Shekhar about what Mathilli had said. Mayuri wanted to get the two married, but Adi asked her to wait. He first wanted to prove his abilities before taking the role of Mathilli's husband, and Mathilli supported this decision completely.

At college, all the classes were in session. A few students were heading towards the library. Mathilli was walking down the hallway when she felt someone pull her into one of the classrooms. It was no one but Adi. He had his arms tightly wrapped around her waist and was staring at Mathilli who was struggling to break free.

M: Adi let me go.

A: No…I haven't seen you since morning. You didn't come to the park for a jog.

M: I had to finish some work, and I tried calling you.

A: Too bad…now you have to stay right here in my arms to make up for that time.

Adi noticed that something was bothering Mathilli, and it wasn't him holding on to her.

A: What's the matter? Something bothering you?

M: How did you know?

A: That's how much I love you.

Mathilli couldn't help but smile at this comment.

A: That's more like it…I always want to see you smile. Now tell me what is bothering you.

M: Actually, I'm worried about Pragati. She doesn't love that Batuk, yet Trishna dadi is forcing her to marry him. Pragati is like a sister to me, and I hate to see her like this.

A: Where's Pragati right now?

M: She's at home.

A: Okay I have a plan, but I need your help.

Adi explained his plan to Mathilli. As soon as he was finished, Mathilli couldn't resist hugging him as a way to thank him. That day Mathilli went to meet Pragati and explained Adi's plan to her. At first Pragati hesitated, but eventually Mathilli convinced her. After Mathilli left, Pragati went to Trishna.

P: Trishna dadi…I'm ready to marry Batuk.

T: What?

P: Yes…I'm sorry I disobeyed you.

T: Why this sudden change?

P: I've realized that Ankit will never be able to give me the happiness…he's good for nothing.

T: Oh, I'm so glad to hear this.

P: Dadi, I'm going to the temple to pray for a good marital life with Batuk. He's not home at the moment. When he returns, can you ask him to meet me there?

T: Sure.

Mathilli and Adi were waiting for Pragati outside the house. They then went to complete the next part of the plan.

(A few hours later)

Batuk and Dadi Bua were surprised to hear about the sudden change in Pragati. Batuk raced towards the door to meet Pragati; however, she entered the house just then.

B: I was coming to meet you.

P: I'm sorry…but I thought you must have been stuck somewhere, so I did the pooja myself. Here's the prashad.

Pragati gave everyone the sweets and quietly walked to her room.

Part 12

Two days later, it was Pragati's wedding to Batuk. Janki Devi tried her best to stop the wedding but things were difficult for her since Pragati herself agreed to this relationship. Batuk excitedly sat down and then Pragati was brought downstairs. The priest directed them to stand up to take their marital vows around the flame when Ashutosh entered with a few police officers.

Ashutosh: Stop! This marriage cannot happen.

Trishna: Who are you to stop me? Just get out.

Ashutosh: This marriage is illegal. Pragati cannot marry this man.

Trishna: Why not?

Ashutosh: Because she is legally married to someone else.

Trishna: What?

Just then Adi walked in with Ankit.

Adi: He's right Trishna dadi. Pragati is legally married to Ankit, and until they do not get a divorce, she can't marry Batuk.

Trishna turned around to face Pragati, who showed no sign of fear. She took off the garland of flowers and firmly walked passed Trishna next Ankit.

Pragati: He's right Trishna dadi. Ankit is my legally wedded husband…you remember the day when I went to the temple. I actually went to court with Ankit, where we were legally married.

Ankit: I then filed a report in police, saying that you were forcing my wife to marry someone while she was still legally married to me.

Ashutosh: And that is why I'm here. I advise you that you stop this wedding right now or else I'll have to arrest you.

Batuk: What are you talking about? I'm going to marry her right now.

Batuk was about to make his way towards Pragati, when Mathilli blocked his way.

Mathilli: Don't take a step further Batuk. Otherwise, you are going to regret it.

Batuk: Are you threatening me? I know you are the one who helped her do this. I'm not going to leave you.

Batuk raised his hand to slap Mathilli but before he could even come close to hitting her, he felt a strong arm grab his hand and twist it. Batuk couldn't help but let out a scream in pain. He looked towards his side and found Adi staring at him with anger. Trishna witnessed this whole incident in amazement.

Trishna: This man attacked Batuk. I want you to arrest him Ashutosh. I'll file a report.

Ashutosh: Sorry, I can't do that. He was trying to defend the woman he loves right in front of my eyes, and that is completely justifiable. On the other hand, Batuk tried to attack Mathilli. Therefore, I'll have to arrest him.

Batuk was handcuffed and taken to the police station.

Pragati took her mother's blessings and left the house with Ankit. However, Ankit and Pragati decided to live apart. They wanted to wait for everyone to accept their relationship before they announced it to the rest of the world.

Part 13

That day Adi returned home and explained to Mayuri what he and Mathilli had done. After hearing his story, Mayuri had some tears in her eyes. Adi was confused to see Mayuri crying.

A: Why are you crying mom?

M: I'm proud of you, Adi. Today, you indirectly helped your nani.

A: My nani? Who's that mom?

M: Janki Devi.

Mayuri then explained everything to Adi. She explained how Parvati was like her mother and how she was wrongly accused of killing Om and Krishna. She also told him about Chotu and Gayatri. After hearing everything, Adi's respect for Janki Devi grew even more. That night he called Mathilli and explained everything to her.

The next day Janki Devi was in her office working on her laptop when Mathilli entered the room.

Janki: Yes Mathilli.

Mathilli: There's someone here to see you.

Janki Devi was lost into her work that she didn't realize that someone else entered the room.

"Nani."

She looked up surprisingly. Adi was standing next to Mathilli and Mayuri at the entrance of the room.

Mayuri: Badima…your grandson is here to see you.

Janki Devi stood up and walked towards Adi while he started taking steps towards her. The two met midway. Janki Devi's eyes were starting to fill up with tears. Adi then bent down and touched her feet.

Adi: You're like a mother to my mom, and that makes you my nani, right?

Upon hearing that word, Parvati finally came out. She immediately embraced Adi and shed all her maternal love on him.

Parvati: You have no idea how happy you have made me. I was dying to hear that from my grandchildren.

Mayuri had to leave for some important work, but Adi and Mathilli remained with Parvati. She cancelled all her appointments and took them to Naryani Devi's house. There Adi and Mathilli helped Parvati cook dinner and ate together like a family. Parvati was glad to let out her inner grandmother and spoil one of her grandsons. That evening, the three sat in the main room sipping some coffee.

Janki: Thank you for helping Pragati, and I'm also glad to see the love between you two.

Adi: Please don't make me an outsider by thanking me. You have done some much for me also. If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have had the two most important women in my life.

Janki: Two women?

Adi: Yes. First you helped mom recover. Second you helped Mathilli realize her feelings for me.

By now, Mathilli was blushing like crazy.

Janki: Oh…so you told him everything, Mathilli.

Mathilli: He had the right to know.

Adi: And now we are with you. Mathilli and I have decided that we are going to look for Chotu. You concentrate on getting Trishna Agarwal and Rajeshwari Mehra punished.

Janki: Thanks Adi.
