The reason for the title.. cos just like the Korma, todays episode was a judicious mix f sour, spice n sweet !!

Mondays episode , How to sum it up ..Why not with the words of Byron "But time strips our illusions of their hue, And one by one in turn, some grand mistake Casts off its bright skin yearly like the snake"

Yes, indeed ..Time has begun stripping the illusions.. In some cases the Masquerade has begun to wear thin and In other cases the cloak has begun to come apart at the seams !!

The first stripping of illusion predictably begins with the Royal Bath of Arnav ..Arnav runs out of water and is unable to clean the suds ..He stands on the doorway, clad in foam in dire need of fresh water to cleanse himself , Garima offers the water stored in the kitchen for cooking purpose but Khushi vetoes it and leads Arnav by hand to water, he freshens himself and discovers to his chagrin that he has been made to take a public bath while the gathered crowd do not think it is a rare occurrence and do not give a special thought to it .

In India, We have the concept of ' Athithi Devo Bhava ' which says that Guest is akin to God and the Guest should be treated as such with due reverence, respect and affection ...I just could not help but feel the contrast between the treatment of the 2 Athithi's ...One is Arnav ..He has been welcomed with open arms, his every whim catered for, his likes and dislikes kept in mind..sometimes even at their personal cost ..Their every action revolves around whether Arnav bituwa will like it or dislike.. They are willing to undergo some hardship if Arnav gets his happiness .. A loner surrounded by love and affection in a rundown home !!

contrast this with another Guest who has come visiting, left to her own devices most of the day, inanimate machines for fellowship instead of love and company.. she is not sought, nor her wishes catered for , her desires fulfilled if it fits in with the comfort of the hosts ...Yes, I am speaking about Bubbli ..A lonely Girl in a mansion filled with costliest gadgets but no heart !!

Now comes the public bath...India has always been divided into many parts..Rural, suburban, urban ..villages, Town,City and Metro ..If we wish to see the entire gamut of India then it would be at Metropolitan cities...Metropolitan cities by itself is a mini India where the high class co exist with the lowest of the low, where stinking riches meet the below poverty line .. Kudos to the PH for showing one aspect of the disparity existing between classes ..Anywayzz on with the Show ...They say Attitude and situation shapes the Man's perception .. we got to see it in Arnav's case .. Had the same thing happened in front of his society, Arnav would have gone ballistic, his ego dented big time he would have shredded Khushi to tiny bits but he is surrounded by those people for whom lack of basic amenities are facts of life rather than a blip in a well ordered life, They have learnt to take things in their stride , laugh about it, feel happy inspite of lack ..They did not find it untoward to see Arnav taking bath publicly and dealt with it sensibly and this helped the perception of Arnav who chose not to create a scene cos though Arnav felt affronted , he understood that this was not an affront nor an insult but a way of life ,,,And That stripped him of his towering rage, his arrogance and lead to a mellowed reaction with Arnav telling Khushi not to talk to him rather than 'How Dare You Khushi Kumari Gupta ? "...In this class war, Arnav's one bastion is being stormed and has been left open..

Did I say 'Lack of Basic Amenities '.. Yes, I did ..Didn't I.. but what is the most basic of all for the survival of humans.. would it be Gold, would it be food , would it be air or would it be the bond, love, relationships ...Man by nature is a social animal, works to the best when there is a healthy interconnected links/relationships as it is this links which provides him with the will, strength and the resources to face the harsh jungle ...Arnav is the king by the dint of his strength but what about the time when his strength fails , has he got the interlinked relationship to keep him afloat ..No!! whereas Khushi has everything that Arnav lacks..Family that will buffer her, give strength and will cocoon her if need arises , individuals who love her and will stand by her ..Khushi has got the life's most basic amenities right unlike Arnav who is malnourished in this department... In this context Khushi's " Hum tho khilathe hain , par yeh khaathe nahi " is significant... Khushi willingly and spontaneously is caring and compassionate towards him but his innately suspicious nature prevents Arnav from accepting it , leading to his weakness !!

The food scene was special to me for various reasons ...One was the way the Gupta ladies rustled up the money without a frown nor wince at their Son In Laws costly stay , their sole purpose in seeing to it that their Son in law stays happy ! His happiness their paramount importance , All other troubles can go take a dunk in the Yamuna river !!

The second reason I liked it was it continued to show the difference between class .. The theme of connection, the intrinsic bonds that exist between neighbors who come to the aid of the other when in need vis Khushi going to neighbors to get Curds, a action which would have raised the plucked eyebrows of that class!!

Third was the way how Arnav unobtrusively , unassumingly took the position as the head of the family, his action unchallenged and accepted. If Nani is the nominal head of Raizada, Arnav is the unquestioned head of the Gupta's..

The fourth was the moment when Arnav informs everyone that the food is not just for him but for everyone !! The surprised look on their faces yielding to genuine happiness ..Their happiness undiminished despite the strange taste of fusili, macaroni underlining again that to the Gupta's it is not the action but the thought behind the action that counts ..What a difference between Arnav Singh Raizada and Shyam Manohar Jha !!

Shyam Manohar Jha , A man who set out to cultivate the naive Gupta's for his own purpose ..Accordingly he donned the costume of the Chaatwala , created a world of make believe and gulled them into thinking that he means well and he is considerate when in reality he was focused only on Khushi and her likes ..but Arnav ..There is no pretensions about him..he knows that Gupta's are middle class people who might not have tasted the eye-talian dishes but that does not stop him from ordering for them , Yes , even now he is thinking from his point of view and has not entered the world of Gupta's but his thinking has been widened to include the Gupta's into his world and not just Khushi Kumari Gupta ..Now they are no longer the other world inhabitants but HIS family and whose needs he will satisfy cos that's what family do !!..

Chotte ko akele Khaane ki aadat hai ...
This was line that has been stuck in my mind .. Arnav Singh Raizada , the inveterate loner has been used to loneliness , has made his peace with loneliness , has gotten used to his own company but is he happy in this loneliness ..Y'day we got a hint at how Arnav craves for company, for the approval. The hasty assurance that he is really fine and that he is getting the breeze.. , his small smile of happiness when Buaji says that she loved the food ** for a man who does not even crack an inch of his lips ** ..Somewhere inside there is a boy crying out for unconditional love and that boy's needs will be met here ..

Also loved the brief reaction of Khushi, sanaya did a good job here .. her face crumpling the moment she sees the bill , unable to pick a fight with him since she knows that in a way it was her action that lead to this but still feeling helpless anger which dissolves as soon as she realizes that Arnav was not being a typical Laad Gavarnor , but actually turned out to be a thoughtful young man , A facet which surprised her , wreathed her in happiness but the happiness does not last long as in the next second she is accused of thievery!!

The car is stripped bare leading to a furious Arnav who immediately blames Khushi for this debacle, Khushi reacts with equal fire protesting her innocence but Arnav is implacable and has fixed her as the thief in his mind and he will not budge from it , incensed by his adamant and bullish stance , Khushi tells him to stew in his own juice and walks away !!

In the simplest terms, Arnav is stripped bare of his vices and is being refitted and retooled !!

second was the fact that Arnav has begun to blow up and has let slip that he considers her a thief ..soon one name calling will lead to another and he will end up throwing the actual reason at her ..

Another reason I liked it was the switch in the characters...Not a long time ago, Arnav would have dropped dead rather than create a scene in the middle of the road vis the Nainital sequence when a hugely embarrassed Arnav will order Khushi to get off the table and Khushi would have had no qualms in creating a whole technicolor picture on the road but see the change ..Khushi is shushing him while the image conscious Arnav has no intention of switching off the loudspeaker ..

This again reinforces the middle class upbringing of Khushi ...everything out in the open except the condition and status of family relationships which will be guarded zealously and will be protected from the eyes of the prying world...The marriage or any relationship will be presented as prutty purrfect at all times and in all weathers to outside world !!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DOODS !! 🤗

Tant will wait for write-up. Today I actually wasn't in a mood to write the analysis but before I get into the analysis I just want to THANK all the Members and Reduxians and the readers for making Redux a thoughtful place. IP Redux; Nor'wester !!! have been chosen as the thread of the week. A big heartfelt thanks for making Redux the most deserving one. 😃 👏

Let's come to the troubled part. What I have been observing now a days that the plagiarism is taking place in a different way. Earlier it was about not giving the credit but now it's been taking the ideas and projecting it as their own. I don't visit too many threads in the Forum 'coz of lack of time but thanks to all of you for bringing that in notice to me. I am certainly NOT against in taking the ideas as they are meant to be shared but what I am certainly against is projecting it as their own. This is the last time I am WARNING to whoever is doing this, take the ideas and elaborate it your own way but give due credit that it was taken from me or Tant. I am certainly not going to keep quiet with this. Very mildly I am warning to whoever is concerned, otherwise I will have to come out with the names directly which I certainly do not want.

Today's episode if you ask me to put in one phrase, then I will say it's all about

"The Ability to Believe".

Yes, there is incredible power in what you believe. What you believe is greater than your circumstances, greater than your trials, greater than your medical report, greater than your bank account. Today we saw many such scenes which compelled me to think in these grounds. As I have always mentioned that this track is all about Class v/s Heart and also Shyaam v/s ASR at the same time. Some scenes did prove Class v/s Heart but at the same time some scenes really proved Shyaam v/s ASR. I'll get into two scenes here, one the Bath scene and other the food scene and I will also explain the difference between Symbolism and Metaphor as many have asked me why do I hate Symbolism and love Metaphor.

Let me start with the analysis. To everyone's surprise, I must say I loved the Bath scene. No not because of ASR's bare torso as I hated it but the logic behind it. Yes, this track is all about Class and Heart difference and this scene was perfectly proven the class difference.

This scene reminded me of the scene when Khushi was Lavanya's trainer and one day she advised Lavanya to adorn like a bride which may change ASR's thought process towards wedding. That day all Khushi thought was from the angle of a simple girl like she always dreamed of. She dreamt of a prince and a perfect wedded life and her thought process originated from her lifestyle. In her "Low Middle Class" society, girls have always dreamed of a secured married life because that was what their parents have always dreamed of as this is ONE area where they always believed of giving their daughters a "SECURED" life. Let me see the data as of now:-

India still accounts for one-third of the world's 1.42 billion poor people. 43% of Indian children are malnourished, a third of the world's total. Over 35% of Indians are illiterate, and more than 20 million children are out of school. Today access to improved water source have increased but still we have timely water supply. There are places in parts of India where the water source is scarce, the timely water supply is still valid and this is how low-middle class people really survive their daily necessities.

That day, when ASR returned from office, we saw him agitated seeing Lavanya sitting like a bride on the bed. Then upon knowing this being the plan of Khushi he mildly told her - "Main samajh sakta hoon ke tum jahan pali badi ho wahan ki soch alag hoti hain, par tumhari iss low middle class mentality ke liye, yahan koi jagah nehin hain; yahan kisike personal life mein interfere karne ko badtameezi kahetein hain". According to him that day, she interfered in his life but according to Khushi this is what "Friends are for", for she was brought up in that way. She came from a community where people are used to stay together with each other; they share each other's problem and treat them as their own; they help each other and solve their issues. Today, whatever Khushi did was wrong by delaying the time so that the water supply runs out. Yeah, she wanted to show him how tough it is for people below the poverty line to survive; how they have to depend on "Ration" food; how they have to wait for the "Municipal Water Supply"; how they need to always be on their toes and still their daily chores ever seem to complete. One day, if they run out of time, they are delayed in everything. Then there was the Dargah scene when Khushi told him - "aap ko toh Bhagwan ka ehsaan manna chahiye ke aap ke paas sab kuch hain". Indeed that was so true and today we saw even if these people are not of high class still they have "Manners" in their life. I loved the lady who invited them for breakfast. This is how a "Low-middle class" society operates. This scene was for ASR to understand how people work hard for "every single penny" just to earn their bread and butter.

This track is for ASR to understand in reality the importance of "Maslow's Pyramid". First, are the physiological needs where the first priority always is food, water and shelter. Then the safety needs are taken care of which are security and safety. Then comes the belonging needs, which consists of love, society and acceptance. Now, being a Harvard Grad (here I have an issue with 4 Lions. Why they didn't promote IIM and promoted Harvard to the younger generations???) ASR might think Khushi and family and society is in extreme poverty according to Maslow's Pyramid. But is it really??? According to western standards it might be but not according to Indian standards. This is where Maslow's Pyramid fails. India can be experienced in its depth only by an inward and spiritual mindset. This mindset requires flexibility in one's schedule, love for her people, respect for traditions and thoughts, an intern calmness to cope with scenes of severe poverty and a devotion of one's activities to a higher Power. The experiences can then go beyond one's mind and visual perceptions. Now this is where the Class v/s Heart falls. This is where ASR needs to understand his knowledge of Indian Culture and values v/s Western Culture and values.

Then cometh the scene which depicted the "Heart" paraphrase in Class v/s Heart. Yes, the "Dining Table Scene". This scene took me to two scenes as this scene was also meant to show Shyaam v/s ASR. One scene that I immediately remembered while watching was the car-scooter collision scene and the other was Shyaam- Chaat scene.

When ASR and Khushi's vehicles collided on the roads of Delhi, ASR's Safari was scratched by Khushi's Scooter and Khushi told him - "har cheez paison mein toil nehin jaati". Aur ek baat, hum aapke lukshaan ke saare paise chukka denge, lekin jo lukshaan aap ne humara kiya naa, uski bhar pai aap zindagi nehin kar paoge". Then she said again - "Khuddari se jeetein hain humlog". Then ASR said - "Khuddari ki baatein bahut sasti hoti hain, tum bhi yehin ho, aur main bhi. We'll see". Fantastic.

Today when the food came we saw how Garimaji and Buaji without any discomfort and hesitation and irritation had spent all the money they had just so that their Son-in-law doesn't feel bad and it falls under their duty to provide all the comfort to ASR. This is called "Khuddari and responsibility and heart" that Khushi always talk about. Garimaji and Buaji did all that even without knowing that Arnav had ordered the food for the entire family and that scene took me to Shyaam's Chaat scene. I remembered that day, Shyaam to put himself in the good books of Khushi and Buaji and Payal to succeed in his plans, he arranged the chaat in Lukhnowi style.

"Koi pyar kare toh tumse kare, tum jaise ho waise kare, koi tumhe badal kar pyar kare toh woh pyar nahi, sauda kare" ~ Mohabbatein

I remember he only took into consideration the likes of Khushi and not others, especially Payal. That day he said - "Hum aap ki pasand jaan te hain Khuhiji". As I mentioned earlier he had the charms to please everyone and one therapy that to please one he takes into consideration their likings and disliking; their comfort zone. He wanted to please them in their way and not his way. He entered in to their territory but didn't bring them into his territory.

The exact opposite was ASR today. ASR didn't forcefully want to enter into the Guptas' territory but he allowed them to enter into his "TERRITORY". We witnessed how ASR took into consideration the likes of each family member into account while ordering the food. Healthy soup for Bauji, Spicy pasta for Khushi, macaroni with mild sauce (yup, white sauce is generally mild; it's either Bchamel or Alfredo or Mac n cheese) for Buaji and Fusili for Garimaji. Yeah these foods were new to them but that is what ASR all about. He never purposefully tries to please anyone and also expects if anyone wants to love him or accept him, then they have to first understand him like the way he never forced Khushi to change for him or he purposefully entered Khushi's territory before loving her. He reminded me of the above dialogue from Mohabbatein and here lies the difference between ASR and Shyaam.

This scene was subtle and it showed the "Big Heart" that the Guptas have and also at the same time it forwarded a step ahead in the direction of Shyaam v/s ASR and the Guptas got a glimpse of what exactly ASR is made of. I have always mentioned he has a presence of mind and opportunist but at the same time his heart is "Pure". Just that Khushi and the Guptas' need to figure out and which is going to happen at the end of the track.

Now, the most debatable topic ever - Metaphor v/s Symbolism. Metaphor will be related to real life comparison but symbolism is what you are interpreting, where there is no such connection at all. A metaphor is an example, or different way of explaining a concept, to better understand the concept or idea. A symbol is more of a physical thing to look at to be used to represent a physical thing. There is a very fine line between metaphor and symbolism. They're related, but a metaphor is used to draw a comparison between two distinct objects, whereas a symbol is used a stand-in for a much more complex, and generally more abstract, idea. In literature, a metaphor would typically be used in a specific instance to compare two objects, but a symbol would be used throughout the work as a major part of the theme. Metaphor is proven but symbolism is not IMO.

Like I explained in "Raisin" or "North by Northwest". Raisin is compared to "Deferred Dream" like how a grape when dried under the sun wears out and becomes hard and tough like a raisin; when we weave a dream we nurture them and when slowly slowly the reality strikes in and the dreams are deferred then it becomes like a raisin in the sun. This is called "Metaphor" or an example I can cite - the life cycle of a butterfly could be a metaphor for the career of a ballerina or like we say "love is like a rose" which basically means "Pyaar katon se bharphur hota hai."

But "Symbols" are used as "Substitution" like "a pipe for a father's authority" or "Liberation like a bird". The pipe and liberation have little inherent meaning, the author uses them (consciously or not) in reference to the real subject.

Now today's Food scene:- If you use the symbolism here then you will say -"red sauce for Khushi means red color for her, Buaji is a widow so white sauce, Fusili for Aama means she is like a supporting agent to all and Mushroom for Bauji because he is earthy" which is not a symbolism at all. Now the shape of Fusili is "Spiral" and in symbol it means -"the door through which life enters this world, basically feminine". But why a spiral and not some other image? Anthropologists are still unsure about the origin of its use, but there are speculations. See, this is why I say, understand the meaning of symbolism first before relating to it. Now, the food scene had no symbolisms but it was just their choice that ASR took into consideration. Just remember, the writers have NOT got that much free time to think so much on a daily soap and please don't link everything to symbolism. When I was watching the episode today, I seriously was counting the files on the table just because it had strike in my mind that what if fans will say - "these no. of files and so ASR will take the responsibility for all the members". I mean you got to be kidding me. Seriously??? So, don't jump into symbols for every scene. Like "Bijli aa gayi" means his life will lit up. I mean what??? Logically it means ONLY one thing that he can use his phone to order the food. That's it.

Then cometh the car scene where all the parts are taken off. It had NO ulterior meaning of him losing his wealth. It was an "OLD IDEA" by the PH taken from their earlier serial. Yes, the only difference is there only the tires were stolen and here even the interiors were stolen. That's it. This had no symbolism. Instead blast the PH for not using fresh ideas and recycling their archives.

Just one request, never jump into any conclusion without understanding the concept and rather think logically.

Tanthya,

An episode today filled with all the right ingredients but a calm episode, a calm that comes before the storm which is coming and all I can say is, "Bring it on", we all are ready, we have been for ages.

**Will wait for your update**

Below is my analysis:

Khushi

I have been a little upset with Khushi Kumari Gupta - Singh Raizada since Friday. I did not like her antics, I understood her purpose but I just could not fathom her ways. I could not understand why a girl like her would put her "Mayka" in jeopardy. Tanthya, Doods and others tried explaining but I was still not convinced. I just did not like the execution. There are ways of irritating someone and her way was definitely not one of them especially when she is aware of the Indian culture and values.

Then over the weekend, I saw "Hunger games" (The book is better) and in there, the President said something that just stuck with me. He said, "Hope is the only thing stronger than fear". I kept thinking on it and suddenly everything Khushi was doing started making sense because in reality she has nothing in her arsenal but hope. A simple four letter word but with so much of potential. Right now, in her life there is nothing but HOPE, hope that she will be able to find the reason for this sudden marriage, hope that she will be able to find the reason of how can a person change so drastically from one moment to other, hope that she will be able to push Arnav enough for him to spill the truth, hope that she will be able to defend herself, hope that she will be able to change the opinion of that person who subconsciously is very important to her and hope that she will be able to remove that "nafrat" that she seeing everyday in his eyes. Hope is her only lifeline because the other side is fear and that she cannot afford to feel, because that fear represents her worst nightmare, infact it is one for every girl and that is the end of her marriage, marriage which was and is the most important thing for Khushi Kumari Gupta. The end of which will have a long-lasting effect on her life, a stigma which will not only affect her but also her family, the stigma that her family, her mother this time just might not be able to bear as she always had a fear of infamy since her young days.

Thus, right now for her, her only hope is finding the truth and there is only one person who can tell the truth. She tried numerous ways to get it out of him, she badgered, she forced, she blackmailed but nothing worked. Anjali then gave her ray of light and without thinking of the consequences she started using it. Her goal became to irritate Arnav, to make him angry and to push him to the core just so that he spills the beans. In her desperation, she involved her family too, not at all thinking about the impact her actions will have on her family. She asked them to serve him tasteless food not realizing that it will also hurt her mother. She did not consider the consequences nor Arnav's reaction. She at that moment thought it was right and she went ahead with her decision, her plan. She did this in exact same way like she did the other time when she took the decision to not tell Anjali or Arnav, the truth about Shyam. At that moment she only thought about Arnav and Anjali. She did not consider the long term consequences it will have on her family or on Payal's life who was marrying into the family. She did not think how it will affect her own life or how in the long-term hiding the truth can only be dangerous to the people from whom she was hiding the truth, At that time the only thought in her mind was Anjali psychotic love for Shyam and Arnav's love for his sister. She took the decision only to protect these two from immediate heartache compromising herself, her sister, her family and her own values in the process.

Her that one decision set up a chain of events which only brought hurt and pain to the whole family. Her one action resulted in Arnav finding a solution that not only affected his family but hers too. Just like today, he did not think about the consequences. He had a problem, he solved it, thinking it will be best for all people concerned. He married Khushi, as that was the only solution that he could come up with, not caring of the pain he will be giving both the families, not caring about the consequences, not caring about the effects his one action will have on both families. For him saving his sister's marriage was important and he did that. Today too, because of Khushi's action or decision, he ordered food, without thinking that it will hurt Guptas, that it will be not be to their liking, that they will not be able to afford it, that his paying will insult them. He did not because he is man of action and as long as that action is justified to him, as long as, according to him its benefits the people around him, he will execute it.

His actions, now and then, have affected Guptas, more than he realizes or is aware of. That time they had to scamper emotionally to handle the cost of his actions, this time monetarily. That time, his actions resulted in the Guptas paying the cost by compromising their "izzat" and this time it was my compromising their financial resources. They paid for his actions but his actions were the direct result of Khushi's actions, then and now, and like today by the time she realizes her mistakes, by the time she realizes it effects, it will be too late.

The sad fact is, the effects of her actions have not yet been fully realized. Her actions from today will soon result in the storm, which is brewing since her action from that day, the day she hid the truth and when it hits, the first house that is going to disrupt is the Guptas. This time too, it will Buaji and Garima who will be most affected, who will be scrambling to find the solution, who will be trying to save both their daughters marriage, who will be trying to defend the fragile relationships which though has love in abundance has no trust.

Arnav:

Arnav is not a person who conveys his feelings very easily. He is a very private person who is an enigma even for his family. He is a person whose problems are his own, whose thoughts are his own and whose matters are his own. He is a person who loves to live within his boundaries and he hates it when the anyone tries to cross it. He is a big-hearted man but for him class is important. He is the person who has always put himself above the general public. He is the king of the castle who does not interact with his minions, who is aloof and loves to stay alone away from everyone. He has never allowed anyone to enter his domain but Khushi today did the impossible. She took the king out of the castle and made him one with the general public.

Khushi today crossed that boundary. She took him to a public bath, a place where he would not have visited even in his wildest dreams. He is a person who does not even share things with Aakash, his brother and today he had to share a bath with the outsiders. Clothes are his image and his dignity and she stripped him of that in front of strangers and this was a grave insult to him. He is not person who can easily convey his inner feelings but he was hurt, he was insulted, he tried telling her that but when she did not heed, he left her. He did not scream at her, he did not show his anger but his behavior indicated that he did not like it, his attitude screamed that he hated it.

Today he was very near to his limit, but he had not crossed it yet. How much can a person bear before his feelings come out? When the next shock came with his car he could not control it any longer and he blamed her for the bath. A person who has been quiet about the vast amount of pain he is holding inside him referred to the bath not once, but twice and called her a "Chor". Chor means someone who steals and from Arnav's perspective Khushi is a thief. She stole his sister's husband, she stole his sister's happiness and she stole his dreams, dreams that he had started weaving because of her, dreams that she had initiated in his life, dreams that made him believe that life can be beautiful, dreams that made him want to live a whole life once again and now, according to him, not being satisfied with that, she is stealing his dignity, his class, his veneer, everything that makes him a man he is today.

How wrong he is because like Khushi said "Aaapka anuman mausam vibhaag ki bhavishyavani ki tarah galat hain", all his interpretations, all his assumptions, all his views are incorrect. His reality is all wrong, his base is all wrong because he is unaware that its not Khushi who is the thief but he himself is a thief who stole her dreams, who stole Gupta's dreams and who stole his family's dreams and when the truth will be out he will be the one who will responsible for stealing her innocence, her outlook, her happiness just because he did not trust her enough, he did not believe her enough.

Chances of flooding!!! Arnav has been warned twice.. First by buaji and then Khushi reiterated the same thing!!!! And Arnav is a good listener. He followed the instructions to T. I think it said something. The earnest longing in his eyes when he asked if they all liked what they were eating.. he so wanted to make them happy. Its like he has found a family and wants to be a part of them. We are all social beings. We all like to be belonged, have family which has a structure.A doting father, loving and caring mother and siblings. If this structure is broken even though you get that love in other form, you long for it. For Arnav I have this feeling that has left a empty hole in his heart. He has carved a life for himself, filled it with material things but that still is a empty space. And Khushi is the answer for this in his life. Seeing ammaji and buaji doting on him, that longing which was sleeping has suddenly been awakened. The way he is interacting with Guptas says a lot of things. !!!

Hola people 🤗

Sathya Love the title and the explanation - it indeed was an episode with spice, sourness and sweetness in it! 😃

Before watching the episode today I kept saying to myself - "Take a deep breath Anna, all will be fine... Its all going to be for good." And this is how I watched the episode today and now I do not regret it at all - because if I did not like Khushi's antics in the first half - the second half was covered by Arnav and then Arnav and Khushi and how. SBS no doubt makes us very uneasy and we decide to not watch the episode - however there is no point of not watching the episode because even though some of it may just be irritating the other parts are just adorable and does not make you cringe.

Coming to the episode and my equations ;

The Shyam Equation

I do not feel like talking about the first half of the episode because it was irritating to the core, however I did see something and I will mention that in Arnav Khushi Equation III. Coming to Shyam loved him - because Finally the key is made! Yayyy!! However Mama's presence on the scene and a witness to the formation of a key is definitely a stepping up point for Arnav to get a lead on when the file goes missing. Looks like Mama will definitely have a strong role to play in the coming episodes - since the formation of the key was a definite important start to the movement of the story line.

Arnav Khushi Equation I

"Bijlii aagayi"

Bijli - light - that is what is missing from Arnav's life. He is frustrated, in pain and hurt from within and this is where Khushi screams that light has come - that the darkness is coming to an end - that the misunderstanding will soon be resolved and she will bring that light in his darkness - something I have said time and again. And moreover - Arnav is in the Gupta Household - means that this is where his final part of the MU will get cleared. This is where the story of Khushi and Shyam started and this is where Arnav will see its reality.

Arnav Khushi Equation II

Arnav orders food - scared that he will be given the same boiled food to eat - and I do not blame him at all. The food arrives and the bill is of Rs.5070. Since Arnav is not there when the food arrives - the Gupta ladies decide to pay for the food themselves as they cannot let the 'damaad' of the house pay for the food. That is how a son-in-law is treated in the house and that is what has made me love Garima and Buaji. They do not care about themselves but about Arnav - take the food and pay from their savings. Khushi comes into see the bill and is disappointed. However I would say - if she had not pulled the stunt of serving bland food to him on the very first day - Arnav would not have felt the need to order. So no - no points for her.

Arnav comes and wants to pay for the food. You can see the look of guilt on his face - and that is what I like about Arnav - he regrets and he is guilty of his actions. And moreover I think he is guilty of what he has done to Khushi and indirectly to Payal that he cannot even look at Buaji in the eyes. He lowers his eyes whenever he speaks to them and bows his tone a bit and is calm and silent.

Coming to the dining table scene - Khushi is frustrated with Arnav, Garima and Buaji are hurt while Shashi ji's expression - I could not guess. But just one action of Arnav when he tells them that the food was not only for him but all of them - catches them by surprise and the whole situation changes. When Arnav hands the soup for Shashi ji - saying it is light - Khushi is touched - when he hands over the pasta to her - ordered especially keeping her taste in mind - she loves teekha aka spice - she holds on to it as if her life depends on it - when he gives the food to Buaji and Garima - again Khushi is touched. She knew that Buaji and Garima would not like the food - yet she knew his thought was what mattered. He thought of them and ordered food not only for them - but keeping in mind the tastes of everyone - did he order it. The whole dining table scene was nothing but adorable. Maybe this will give Khushi an insight into Arnav Singh Raizada.

One particular scene which was my favorite - when Arnav hands Khushi her box of pasta - she holds on to it tightly and looks at it as if it is the most precious thing in the world and if I may say for her it definitely was. For the first time as I can remember - Arnav got (ordered) something for her keeping in mind her taste. The way she looked at it was adorable. Arnav has given his heart to Khushi - but she does not know that - and there is a long time when that will actually happen - but whenever that happens - it will be the most precious thing that she will have and she will take care of his heart and will place it and him above everything and over everything.

Arnav Khushi Equation III

Arnav's car has been ripped off everything - the tires, the steering wheel and the seats - every little thing of the big huge car was gone - practically leaving a metal box and nothing else. Obviously by now he is quite aware of Khushi's intentions - and that is to irritate him and no doubt his first suspicion goes on her. He knows she is an expert with cars and he thinks that she has stolen the parts to irritate him... However that was not the case and they ended up fighting like cats and dogs in the middle of the street. When Khushi realizes that people are gathering around them - she tries to sush him down - and he retorts back with - 'Its okay for people to see me bath - but its not okay for us to fight!?' (That was awesome - had to write it 😃)

Significance - why do I think that the file holds something so important and dangerous that it is going to rip Arnav off his reputation and family!? Even if it is the 6 month contract - that file in public view would finish off Arnav's status in the society. And what more - he will think it was Khushi who did it - not listen to her - and hold her responsible for it - just like he did today and then he will be left standing alone because after a point of time - done with his accusations Khushi will also move away from him - leaving him all alone just like the end shot of today's episode.

I would also add the first scene here - where Arnav was ripped off everything he ever was - by bringing him to bath in public she ripped him off his 'so-called' dignity and status. The thing that caught my attention was the foam that kept Arnav's eyes closed - just like the misunderstanding that is keeping Arnav's eyes closed as of now. And it is Khushi who washes the foam off his eyes - clearing his sight and hence if I may say that clearing his misunderstanding and giving him the right perspective in the future.

Pointers :

1) Why was their no reaction from Arnav on Khushi's antics once he was dressed!?

2) Rs. 5070 ka bill for 5 pastas!? Are u kidding me!?

3) The whole car had been ripped off and instead of asking around where Arnav had parked - they decided to fight over it!?

4) On a serious note : Can we please not have Barun strip anymore!? Its not even droolsworthy when you see it so many times. I really don't like him stripping please give him his clothes back and end any water track for a week or two.

Favorite Character

Garima and Buaji - these two ladies have been winning my heart time and again for their patience while dealing with Arnav and Khushi both. The way they handled the money issue and the way Garima was ready to bring water for Arnav from kitchen was adorable. Something tells me - soon enough Garima will be the Mom Arnav misses. He will seek solace in her lap and give her that respect that she deserves and more.

I was considering whether to watch the episode or not - but well it was a good watch. I did find the first half irritating - but I will ignore it because the rest was on a lighter note and in good taste.

Love ;)

The clouds are reaching, they are trning, soon there will be raining clearing all the ugly & the sun will shine agian, but may the strom will take evrything with it... the stage is setting with all the small incidences..

Shyam wanted the knowledge abt the file, and therefore he getting the key made by keymaker, Mamaji finds him, questions him & get incohrent replies, points them & his alert mind isnt convinced, The ladies at GH are so concerened for the MIGHTY HIFI DAMAD of theirs, the first when he was in bath, they wanted to gv him the water from Kitchen, and the second time, they paid his food bill, which was way beyond their imagination & reach yet they wanted to do that for him the damad, reflects how well hv they accepted him as a part of their family. Loved Buaji & garimaji's expression during the whole scene.
Arnav guilty/ subdued reaction nvr had he expected them to pay yet they did, and they were touched by his humility that he had ordered everything considering evryone's choice. shows how he used to being the man of the house, in some earlier episode Akash had remarked Arnav shoulders the responsibilty of all members of RM & today he showeed agn at GUPTA's all members are equally important to him, ie if he considers them as family, slowly he has started accepting the GUPTAS as his own thats why he cares for evrybody's taste buds.
Also I loved the fact that they mentioned Khushi is financially helping Guptas through her DABBA BUSINESS bcz I had always believed rather than means of irking Arnav it was a method of survival for Khushi.
Loved the expressions of Khushi as for the first time he ackowledged her prefrences in such a small thing as food, she held in with atmost concern & gratitude.
In the bath scene, khushi tells Arnav to come with her for water, he hears both the elders stopping Khushi yet he Trusts her goes with her, Khushi makes a joke of it
In the last scene Khushi tells him, she didnt ruin his car, he doesnt trust her, Once agn the Irony Of TRUST play its game between the, wish they would be sane at the same moment for ONCE.
The Bijli aagayi is it to reflect that Light will adawn evrything soon, and bring harmony agn.
Barun is TOO GOOD with most of his scenes. His eyes once agn due the potryal for him,
This was funny: Inder ko fone lagao main baat karta hoon.

I loved the entire dining table sequence. Arnav being very mindful of everyone's taste and at the same time, discomfort that Guptas had paid for the bill was very nicely done. Arnav is definitely bonding and also the way he talks to Buaji and Garima is almost with a certain amount of reverence. The relief that the electricity is back makes him appreciative of things he has taken for granted. The genuine smile on Khushi's face was heartening to watch and all it took was just a simple gesture from her hubby - I cannot just imagine how she will feel when all this MU is all cleared and she can see that Arnav has always loved her from the beginning!

I tried to love for years upon years
You refuse to take me for real
It's time you saw what I want you to see
I'd still love you if you'd just love me

The above lyrics are a part of Eric Clapton's song 'Promises'. The song talks about a man who loves a woman, but she's quite indifferent to his love. She is the life of the party wherever she goes, and thinks that he hates her. He is broken, and trying to cope with this relationship - in time, his love too starts taking a backseat, but he hopes that she will, one day, see the abundant love he has for her - and that, a glimpse of love from her side is all he needs.

Suits our dear bickering couple, doesn't it? Only thing is, the song applies to both of them, not Arnav alone. Why? Because, the soft shade of happiness in Khushi's eyes when she saw Arnav extending his warmth to her family was enough to melt her anger at him within a heart-beat's moment.

That little loving action on Arnav's part, of taking into consideration her family's likes and dislikes (including hers) brought back the old Arnav she fell in love with. A man, who looked after his family all these years, is doing the same with her family. One touch of care by Arnav, and see how this girl forgets all her frustration with him.

Inspite of being subjected to bland food, sleepless night, rigorous exercise, and a public bath, Arnav chooses to brush these incidents off as part of Khushi's pranks, and he doesn't allow his irritation at her antics to cloud his respect toward her family members.

I almost expected Khushi to take him to task about running up such a high bill too be paid by Amma and Buaji, but she didn't. She didn't do that because she realized that it was because of her messing around with feeding him bland food that led to this today. I'm glad that a little bit of sense has been deposited in her brain now.

Arnav in his own way, touches everyone by his gesture. Yes, it wasn't the food they are accustomed to eating, it is again 'his' style, his choice of food, but the thoughtfulness that he displayed didn't go unnoticed by anyone at the table. It is these little things that matter most to the GH household. Arnav is slowly learning this and his actions prove beyond a doubt that he has a good regard for them, and despite being tough on the outside, he has a good, generous heart.

Khushi is stunned into silence by Arnav's considerate behaviour. It is only her eyes and her smile that convey how special the moment is for her. To see her family bonding with Arnav, appreciating his choice of food, and sharing a sweet moment. The little things are what touches her heart. And, when he says with a bit of hesitation and very slight shyness that he got a spicy dish for Khushi since she likes 'teekha' - Khushi takes it in her hand and holds it so carefully, almost as if it was fragile. There's a thoughtful, loving expression as she holds it close to her. She cherishes the moment, and I'm sure she's committed it to memory.

This is all she really needs. To witness a piece of his buried love. But more than love, trust is also needed, which is seriously lacking in their relationship. The first public bath scene and the car scene is proof of this fact.

PUBLIC BATH SCENE

Arnav, blinded by the soap covering his eyes, allows Khushi to lead him toward water. Here, he blindly trusts her to clear his eyes, and wash away the soap. Once the soap is removed, he is shocked to see himself standing in the midst of the mohalla people. He feels humiliated, while Khushi's only point was to show him their way of life. But, this doesn't settle in Arnav's head and his budding trust dips again.

THE CASE OF THE MISSING CAR PARTS SCENE

Habituated to Khushi's endless tricks and games, it takes Arnav only a few seconds to suspect her to be behind the 'case of the missing car parts'. Just like Khushi brought about her family paying the sky-rise food bill because of her prank, for the second time in the day, she is paying for her penchant for tricks by being the first suspect over stealing Arnav's car parts.

Khushi, on her mission to show Arnav how people of her class live, is hindering the growth of trust between them. Each game of hers deepens the disbelief and mistrust in Arnav's mind, she keeps messing around with him so much, that he is unable to take her seriously when she claims innocence.

Like I said in my post on Friday's episode, they are the two axes ('X' and 'Y' axis), at right angles to each other - when one does something positive, the other one indulges in the opposite. If, Arnav warms up to the Gupta's, then Khushi is there to torment the life out of him. If they each move in their own individual directions, they will always be at loggerheads, but when they both move toward the same direction, toward the same point ( 0 on the axis), they will join, unite and be in harmony, sharing the same value.

This means, that if Khushi and Arnav work together toward love, understanding, trust, repect and faith - then they will meet. Together, with Arnav's fantastic brain, and Khushi's loving heart - these two can weather any storm. (But the PH has to keep the spice alive, so we won't get this until the repentance on both sides is over!)

GARIMA-BUAJI-SHASHIJI

This family can do wonders to Arnav's nature. They bring out the sensitive, caring, hurt boy that is hiding in the recesses of ASR's persona. Yes, Arnav shows his caring side at RM too. But over here, he is extremely down to earth. The immediate apologetic expression is on his face when he realizes that the Gupta's footed the expensive food bill. The instant acknowledgement that he is comfortable with the cooler, shows that he is touched by their concern to keep him comfortable and he immediately tries to put them at ease, and is grateful for their efforts.

They respect their daamad and do everything they can to treat him the way a daamad is treated - with care, affection, comfort and generosity. They empty their savings to pay the bill as it isn't conidered done to make the daamad pay when he's at the sasural's home. They politely refuse his offer to pay them back, and invite him to start his meal.
Arnav, used to being on his own for most of the time, is new to this. Sitting with a family for a meal, sharing, bonding, and most of all to see them happy with his gesture brings to light the face of a man who longs for loved ones to surround him, for happy smiles to be bestowed on him, for being recognized as a source of joy, for gaining a much desired and warm approval of family.

It was the first time I saw Arnav seeking approval from someone else. How often has he done that? In a way, he does feel indebted to this family since he was the one who caused Payal's marriage to be broken (but he closed this loop by being one of the people behind her marriage to Aakash), he caused them to shift base from Lucknow to Delhi, he didn't give Khushi much of a choice when he asked her to marry him... But in a way, his gentle query of whether they liked the food also points toward a person, who has hardly shared such an equation before - one of mutual respect.

SHYAM AND MAMAJI

Shyam at last gets the key made, only to be witnessed by Mamaji. Mamaji sees not only the key, but also the bar of soap! With Bubbly and Mamaji aware about the soap, it may help in pinning Shyam down later on. Shyam, thanks to his lawyer practice, weasels his way out of this tricky situation too. I really admire his deft way of covering up for his evil intentions and actions with his smooth, unruffled talk and behaviour. Mamaji has nearly caught Shyam on two other occasions before, one - the live wire in the pool, and two - the scorpion in the sweet box. Feel like reiterating the luck quote "Three time's lucky" for Shyam.

I'm not getting into Symbolisms today, cause I got too many interpretations for various scenes. And yes, this wasn't much of an analysis, just felt like writing a light piece today.

The episode was a really good one. It showed a good development toward inching the story forward. The pre-cap is extremely riveting - and I'm going to do my countdown for the show today!

Cheers folks!!
