A very well thought episode. Not because they might have garnered some TRPs through Jodha Akbar scene or getting the newlyweds on the same bed but because this is an episode where the message was delivered but in a very subtle and well thought manner. All I can say this that they have done their research on the characters and somehow I feel the "Dragonfly" did have an effect. How I donno, but if not for dragonfly then the message would have never been delivered so profoundly.

Wondering why Nor'Wester??? Why not Alfred Hitchcock's "North by Northwest" Movie??? Why not another Dragonfly??? Why not Prince of Persia??? Or Jodha Akbar??? Or what "Nor'wester" and "North by Northwest" and "Pigeons" has got to do with this episode???

Well, all I can say is this episode is about the upcoming "Storm" and "Repentance". I can say this much at the beginning that the file has finally found its purpose and its master. Both. But before I jump into the analysis and talk about today's message, I will certainly touch upon Bubbli and Payal first.

"Karam Karo, Fal Ki Chinta Mat Karo" ~ Bhagwad Gita

I loved the Bubbli and Payal segment. One thing I have always noticed that whenever Bubbli and Payal interaction is happening, there is at least one family member who keeps on witnessing their equation. I have always described that Bubbli will be the one who will be close to Payal and she will be instrumental in mending the relationship of Payal with Aakash. Remember when I described the difference between Maami and Garimaji and their treatment to their respective nieces??? Yes, there was one example in the upbringings of Garimaji and Maami. Isn't it??? Was it not evident today??? When we entered the scene we saw Maami asking for a suggestion on her nail paint like that day Bubbli wanted a suggestion from Maami for the Robot; it's like what you sow, so you reap. Why will Bubbli help when she didn't get any response in the first place??? Isn't it obvious that when you sow an apple tree how can you having lemons in them??? The same way as Mahatma Gandhi said - "Ahimsa ka jawaab pyaar se do". Yes, when Payal addressed her as "Beta" she smirked very nicely and was supported by Maami; but then when Maami said - "Junior Manorama" she was irritated as she definitely doesn't want to be Maami at any cost, that much brilliance this little girl has. But when Payal left the room on being humiliated then, that Bubbli who actually claims to be a 9 yr old "matured" girl, shifted her gaze to the doll and had that small realization of her "deferred dream". The small girl was brilliant there. Her pain being an orphan and declining a motherly affection from Payal was evident in her eyes. I know Payal was disheartened today but there will be one day when this girl will find solace in her lap and her chest. She will for as I said above - "fal ki chinta mat karo". Payal is a good hearted woman and when she had embraced Khushi in her childhood then why won't she embrace Bubbli now??? She will and that day she will have Bubbli and Bubbli will position her in her Mom's place.

Dragonfly. Last Friday I did this analogy with Khushi, Arnav and Anjali. Today, I will pick only Khushi and Anjali as today's episode talked about these two characters. Yes, and so does today's "Message". Remember when I mentioned about how the IPK story telling being layered and how in every episode there is certain message that is delivered??? Sometimes it might be related to future story, sometimes it might be related to the character description or sometimes it might be about the track etc. but there will be a message. It gets hard to figure out sometimes but we definitely get one, unless it is one of those days where it seems the PH has lost interest in the story-line and there is no vision. Well luckily today is that day where we don't need to feel that. Yeah, for the majority of the audience it might look like Khushi is frustrated and of course she is; Arnav is involved in JA act to garner TRPs and this is required; their first time on bed together and well, audience needs some spice; Khushi's tricks are back again and I'll say of course she will irritate him to the core unless she gets some answers; the difference between high class and low class was also shown nicely when the blackout happened and the neighbors didn't make any fuss of their discomfort, for our mighty Arnav Singh Raizada to understand the difference between class and heart, isn't it??? All these are called treatments and also a general way to portray that the story did seem to move forward at a snail's pace to the regular audiences. But, here comes the TWIST. Those who study the storytelling, for them they need that something, which will "DEFINE" the episode. Like the episode where one word "Kishmish" defined Khushi's character; like the Holi episode which was defined - "Through Anjali's eyes". The same way today's episode defined the nature and position of two characters Arnav and Khushi with very simple words - "North and West" and their action with the hint on the storyline. Yes, this is today's message and I will go one by one.

Arnav and Khushi are two polar opposites, right??? Then why the creative team didn't define them as "North and South" and rather defined them as "North and West"??? Here comes my "Dragonfly" theory. I said these two are dragonflies for they are constituted by Air and Water. Air signifies "Maturity" and water signifies "Purity". I stay close to the Navajos (Native Americans) and they define dragonfly as "Pure Water". Thanks Tant for reminding me as that day this didn't even cross my mind. All I could recollect was their characteristics. But today I have to take into consideration the Navajos and also the metaphors.

As per Navajos theory:-

1. North - Wisdom and thought

2. West - Conclusions and completeness

Now, there is another theory, as per Zodiac:-

1. North - Air (Matured)

2. West - Water (Pure)

I hope by now half of the Reduxians have got their answers. Yes, in IPK world:-

1. North - Arnav Singh Raizada

2. West - Khushi Kumari Gupta

Why the scriptwriters have defined the spaces for Arnav and Khushi through north and west and not west and north??? They cannot. Can they??? Nah. As I say always, for every action you need to have a reason, people just will show something or make the leads blabber something and we will believe it without any logic??? Nope. I cannot, at least.

Now let's come to the main part. Why Khushi said - "aap ka ghar uttar mein hain aur humara paschim mein aur agar dishaon ke hisaab se sona padhe naa, toh aap ko bahaar peir ne neeche kabootaron ke saath sona padhega" ??? Let me elaborate here:-

When I watched this part, the first thing that clicked me was - "North and West"??? Why??? Is it Alfred Hitchcock's "North by Northwest"??? I remember this story but forgot the plot and how it can be related to IPK; then I did the research and was like oh yeah??? This is indeed North by Northwest movie and how BRILLIANTLY they connected it on a metaphoric way. Here goes why???

This movie is based on the story of a mistaken identity; an innocent man who was pursued by agents across United States, who want to stop his interference in their plans. See the metaphoric connection. Khushi is an innocent girl and is mistaken to be involved with Shyaam by Arnav and just because he wanted to stop Khushi's interference in his plans to tackle Shyaam, he married her bounded with a contract. This was the blow given by "North" to the "West". As Alfred Hitchcock said - "North by Northwest is not a direction on the compass at all", it actually meant - "Slippery nature of reality". Indeed. This is why Arnav misunderstood Khushi in totality and this is reality.

It was that day when Arnav decided to lay down his heart to Khushi and he headed to the terrace. But as he was about to open the door of happiness he received the shock of his life; his world shattered down the moment he saw his heart in the arms of Shyaam. His whole world crashed down knowing the girl he loves considers someone else as her beau; knowing that the girl with whom he decided to build a home is actually in the process of breaking his sister's home. Yes, he was shattered that day and he was in no mood to understand this girl at all for he believes in "believe in what you see". The lover in him crashed down and the brother in him had taken the charge. Yes, he had mistaken her and decided to stop her further in interfering in his plans to tackle Shyaam Manohar Jha. He married her putting forward a condition and in a "6 months Contract". That was the biggest shock of Khushi's life and she had to accept her destiny thwacked by "North". Till today she couldn't even get to know the reason for this punishment. She tried every single possibility to get the answers from Arnav's mouth but in vain. The frustration level of Khushi has gone up so high that she now just wants some answers otherwise the "DAM" of her frustration is almost at the limit and on the verge of exploding.

There is a dialogue in the movie where the lead character exploded and said - "Now you listen to me, I'm an advertising man, not a red herring. I've got a job, a secretary, a mother, two ex-wives and several bartenders that depend upon me, and I don't intend to disappoint them all by getting myself "slightly" killed". This is the situation "Khushi" is in and when she will explode she will say - "now you tell me what is the reason and why you married me and sabotaged my life and stigmatized me and even gave me a life sentence without even telling me my fault??? Either you tell me or I will tell everyone". This was happened 3 months back and yes, the anniversary was of "3 months" as that justifies by end June the "Repentance and Confession" will happen to celebrate IPK's anniversary.

Let me come to the actual message and the title. "Nor'Wester". What is Nor'Wester??? In Bengali we call it "Kalbaishakhi". Nor'wester is a type of storm that occurs in pre-summer / Spring. When there is roasting heat, then breeze starts; then with the rumbling clouds and lightning which is followed by dust storm and when it rains, it washes away everything and cools everything down. Generally, this hits in the eastern part of India during mid-April to mid-May. These are the facts of Nor'wester but this is why I didn't give the title. It had much more significance here.

These thunderstorms approach most frequently from west to north-west and hence they are called nor'westers. But for IPK story line and in this context, it relates to Khushi; she is in a situation on the verge of breaking down; she is doing everything she can think of for that one single answer. Her mind is trying to recollect all the events and understand the situations, but all in vain. It irritated her to such a point that she is unable to take it any further; she needs to confront Arnav and let it out of her system and learn the answers. Yes, this storm comes from the West to the North. In this context the storm will come from Khushi to Arnav pretty soon and that's INEVITABLE. She will break the MYTH that Arnav has of her. This blow from Khushi (West) to Arnav (North) is knocking at the door and that's why she said - "agar dishaon ke hisaab se sona padhe naa toh aap ko bahaar peir ne neeche kabootaron ke saath sona padhega". WOW. Brilliant.

The message of today's episode is that the storm is coming from the west to the north, from Khushi to Arnav. This storm is going to hit Arnav Singh Raizada pretty hard and he will have to find his way home (Khushi's Heart) like the "Pigeons" when he will realize how he had mistaken her for someone which she is not. Here comes his "Repentance".

Why Pigeons and why not any other birds??? I'll tell you, because "Pigeon" is the only bird that have the uncanny ability to find its way home, "NO MATTER WHAT and no matter from WHERE". Scientists have tried all methods to find out the reason why Pigeons have this ability but they can only theorize as none of the experiments seem to affect their navigation skills, even in unfamiliar territories. This is the reason, the man in the Akhada said - "arre ustaadji, yeh toh manjhe hue khilaadi hain, yeh toh sab kuch kar sakte hain". Yes, he will find his way to Khushi's heart, his home no matter what like he did sweat out today, he will work towards his absolution from Khushi. Trees, always are rooted firmly in the earth while reaching up towards the sky. Tree, is Arnav's happiness and his peace. Khushi has already taken the plant along with her; she has already taken away Arnav's happiness and peace and a bird can only have peace in its home. Like the pigeon, Arnav will return to his home, the most coveted place for him in this world and that is Khushi's heart. He will work towards it and will achieve "Absolution" like he did in the Akhada and then Khushi cannot bear the load of his guilt like she couldn't bear the load today and will forgive him like she did purify him with water today. She will and that day he will return to her only after he serves his sentence. The Arnav rekha will automatically be out of the bed then.

The last scene made me think that the file contains the legal documents of the "contract marriage" of Arnav-Khushi. I am yet to get the confirmation but since Khushi delayed the flood as Buaji mentioned "baanr aa jayega" through back door entry to the GH and managing the time to get the water supply to run out, I think it indicated that Khushi and Arnav will try to save the reason for their sudden wedding to get leaked. When Arnav and Khushi will unite they will try to hide the "reason" for the wedding to the Guptas and this is when the 6 month contract will be over and Shyaam will catch hold of the file and try to expose this in the society and this is where the "Blackout" fits. Shyaam is the only person who knows the half-truth about the wedding. Because of this I felt Khushi will try to delay this "Blow" to the Guptas but Arnav and Khushi will fight Shyaam and the Society together which explains the blackout difference that I mentioned yesterday.

Edited:-

P.S.:- Many of you have asked whether Khushi will return to RM or not; well all I can say is that lets see where the track is leading. IMO, Khushi will return as I said in the track layout because she is unaware that Arnav witnessed her with Shyaam at the terrace whereas she will think about Arnav knowing her engagement with Shyaam. So, unless the tracks unfolds a bit, it's tough to say whether she will return or not. She will learn the truth and the storm will come from her to Arnav. This much is indicated today, So, let's enjoy the show.

Heyy All,

What a beautiful culmination to a week of delightful episodes ..The episode was a drooler's delight, Analyst's paradise, Gutter minds Heaven !!

Couple of things began to clear out today.. Heart has begun to merge with class and lines between classes are blurring, Khushi's awakening , Arnav's thinning patience and eruption ..

Darkness has come, the newly weds are tottering and stumbling in the darkness, unable to find their way out the labyrinth ..Buaji opens the door to the neighbors who have come for an explanation ...Buaji apologetically explains the reason but the good natured neighbors are understanding , assure Buaji of no ill will and leave the premise in good humor ..

A good beginning to the scene.. I really liked the attention to the detail given here, Khushi being a family member knows where each and every items are placed but Arnav is not and he dashes against the table not knowing the positioning of the table, a subtle underlining of his status as a outsider and a guest ..Again the lesson on heart was reinforced when the neighbors accepted the reason and when Buaji solicitously enquires whether she can fan Arnav until sleep comes .. Has Arnav ever been subjected to such care, such concern, Such attention !!

Now comes the most interesting part and every Analysts delight ; The couple retire for the night , Khushi glaring at Arnav in the dark and muttering" Jaisi karni waise Bharni " ..Not just content with this she lets loose two other gems," of Uthar - Pashchim and Kabootar ..

Jaisi Karni waise Bharni >>>>> As ye sow , so shall ye reap !! .
.Who says this?? Khushi , to whom?? Arnav !! .. Does this imply that Arnav who had been having a home run and was cruising towards the lifting of the trophy will be stopped and his victory snatched or is this directed towards Khushi ...The more I thought about it, the more I felt that at this juncture , this proverb is applicable to Khushi.. She is the one who is irritating the life out of Arnav, mocking love, deriding relationships at every chance she gets, Khushi has brought Arnav with the intention of humiliating him , teaching him a lesson but it will be Khushi who will end up learning .. The plans meant for Arnav will backfire on her .. That her pranks and behavior are born out of frustration, anger and confusion is understandable but at the same time, I do feel that when she has pushed and goaded Arnav too far, she will face swift, straightforward annihilation which will strike at her very roots, which will mock at all the things she held dear , which will crush her !!..Always remember Arnav has been at his calmest when he is about to go deadly .. He was calm when he began the Faraq Padtha hai , torturing her emotionally and Psychologically, he was calm when he laid that condition for marriage , He was calm before throwing her out !! A calm Arnav is a dangerous Arnav !!

The second one was the the comparison of Arnav and herself as 'North and West ' ..

When I heard this , I was aghast for a second as I simply did not know on how to relate this ..North & South are understandable, West and East can be related but North & West !! ..One is at the pinnacle while the other is the left hand of the pinnacle ...I was confused and elated at having to solve this puzzle ..Let me take u through the process of my thinking .

The simplest and ofc the easiest decoding of this is ;..North is at the top suggesting head in other words Mind ergo Arnav , the thinker ..who stays at North and is considered the Mind part of the Arnav-Khushi Combo... while West is always to the left of North and what is in the left of the body .. Heart !! Who is the heart , the soul of this relationship..Yes, Indeed ...It is Khushi...There we have our North & West easily explained ..it is again a oblique reference made to the Mind and Heart of IPKKND i,e; Arnav & Khushi !!

But could it be so easy or do we have a layered nuances here ..The more I thought about it ..The greater grew the conviction that there is something more to it than what is obvious ... In my earlier REDUX, I had brought out the hidden symbolism's between Ramayan and IPKKND and also compared Arnav to Krishna/Paarth ...Today I derive from another source..I quote from the Book of Jeremiah, Jeremiah 46-20: "destruction cometh; it cometh out of the north"...when u read this , u will understand that the dots gets connected .. we begin with Buaji who moans that Khushi always brings a storm with her ..Then we have Khushi saying ' Jaisi Karni ..."..we have also got Arnav fixated as Krishna/Paarth ... when we take this together .. we begin to have a glimmer ...Khushi , The Impulsive Khushi , the short sighted Khushi will be unleashing a tornado, Arnav, the North will be the one who will be letting loose this destruction and why would he destroy his very own family [albeit extended one].. we dip into Freemasons this time ,'We learn from the first degree lecture, that "there are three lights in a Lodge...There is none in the north"In "King Solomon's Temple...the sun and moon...could dart no ray of light into the north part thereof. The north, therefore, we term a place of darkness"....Yes, bec the North is in darkness ..The North has not had the benefit of light, benefit of truth .. Arnav will lash out in blind ignorance not knowing that there is such a thing as truth for he is convinced of the darkness residing in him , in Khushi and in shyam...,

There you see so, North & West easily explained once u delve into it , BUT again I thought if it was about just Arnav and Khushi why bring in the home ..why say ..Ur home is in the North instead of U stay in the North ..Then I thought the key is the Home !! ..so let me ask the obvious question..What makes a home..Is it the doors, windows and Roofs ..evidently no !!..It is the members , the family who make up a home ..Let me make a head count of Arnav's family... Nani, Mama-Mami, Payal-Akash , Arnav-Khushi, Anjali &&& SHYAM !!! .. when I recollected Shyam, I understood that the house in Uthar was not just for Arnav , it also stood for Shyam !! ...

Things began to pan out in my mind after this..Once again , Let me begin my journey from the Book Of Jeremiah !! Jeremiah 1-13/14 we find: "What seest thou? And I said, I see a seething pot; and the face thereof is toward the north. Then the Lord said unto me, out of the north an evil shall break forth upon all the inhabitants of the land".

Yes.. Pretty soon there is going to be a seething pot, the situations churning and in flux as on the one hand Khushi will be getting the answer to what she seeks, Arnav's suspicion rising , Shyam beginning to have a marginally upper hand initially and Shyam will release the evil , it could be the contents in the file , it could be an indirect attack on Arnav or it could be a direct physical assault on Khushi !! ..Shyam will be the evil from the North , Shyam will be the evil North ..so where does that live Arnav.. Haven't we said
already.. He will be the Krishna/Paarth.. the person who will be driving his own chariot and fighting against his own kin to uphold the values of truth, Arnav will be the Krishna who will enter the battlefield to pierce and eradicate the darkness, he will be the protective shield to the Gupta's cos Arnav has always been a just man. !!

I f we think that we have resolved the issue of House and direction...then Let me disabuse you of that notion cux the conundrum continues ... 😊..If it was about Arnav's family and its members ..why bring west into it ??.. so here again I switched back to thinking that the North served dual purpose ...The House in North stood for Shyam but North by itself stood for Arnav !!...If we now consider North as Arnav, Khushi as West makes for perfect sense ...

What does North stand for ??

"As high pines kiss north skies, we stand tall in our growth. We provide, we expand, we rule thunderously as the buffalo."..This very much explains Arnav ..He is a man towering over both the families with none matching him in stature !! He is the provider , He has expanded and now includes both the homes and he does rule over both..Not bothering to take the members of the Gupta's into his counsel before ordering AC ..deciding whats best in that situation ..This has been the Hall mark of Arnav as is of North !!

In the Celtic religion North was considered as a plce of security, of home and who better than Arnav to provide that security , protecting both the homes from the evil of the North !!

Now we come to the West ..

while East has been the cradle of civilization, the Mother ..West by virtue is the new , undiscovered territory, the young kid who has been born ..Khushi to Arnav is yet a undiscovered territory, a less civilized child who needs to be looked after and just as the west, holding many secrets and promises for the future ..

Taking the Celtic symbolism.. West has been associated with Water, Movement & emotions ..What is water but a life giver, a purifier ..Water by its constant movement also cleanses the dirt accumulated leading to a new beginning ..Doesn't this suit Khushi, who holds the chalice of Life ...If she lets go of the Chalice ..she will be destroying 3 lives but A unmoving, still water becomes stagnant , the content becomes toxic , instead of giving life, it will slowly and inexorable kill the very life it sought to protect and nurture ..it is here the water has to move, freshen itself, cleanse itself of its impurities and that can come about when the accumulated dirt is thrown out ...

Let me conclude the North -West pointer by bringing in the Native American's.. Lakota, for example hold to the following guideline:

North = wisdom/thought

West = conclusions/fullness

Arnav the Man of thought, the man who connects the dots will get the full details from the West and West will help him in drawing a conclusion !!

If things had gone ur way then , You would be sleeping with the Pigeons..But we do not find Arnav sleeping with the Pigeons Do we..Pigeons have been associated with Pure, chaste, loving marriage ..Pigeons usually bond until death ..But the marriage of Khushi & Arnav violates all the things that the Pigeon stands for , hence the banishment of Arnav from Pigeons tree !! ...On the other hand, Pigeons are said to have a strong homing sense, take them anywhere and release them , they unerringly make their way home !! Arnav has been brought into alien territory but like a homing Pigeon he will be on track of truth and on track of winning his love..

Morning dawns and sweaty Arnav wakes up to see that He has become part of Khushi's mattress, An irritated Arnav turns to look at her, intending to blast her off with his eyes alone when he is bewitched by her beauty, His hand which had enclosed around Khushi's fist , slowly encircles it in a gentle clasp ..quietly watching her breathing ..the world at a stand still..He dons his jogging shoes and begins to run when he is accosted by Body builders who try to coax him into working out with them , Arnav declines but egged on by Khushi, he firmly shows off to her, earning the respect admiration of the BB crowd , Much to the chagrin of Khushi ...

Again the continuation was bang on..Arnav troubled by heat and waking up wiping the sweat ..Good one.. Loved the brief moment when Arnav gently clasps Khushi's hand.. that one action showing his yearning for her, his helplessness , his lack of control .. Khushi stirs, he takes off his hand but not hers, he allows her to claim him but does not enforce his will on her and waits for her !!

Arnav begins to jog and comes across the training ground .. The BG music when Arnav joins the earthy BB's was quite interesting..His signature tune was merging with the desi beat suggesting that the mighty ASR is slowly accepting the lower class and has begun to blend in smoothly ..he is still ASR but changed man ...

The lifting of weights ..how suggestive can the CV's be... Arnav first does weights with one wooden bat.. that would be the love he has for Khushi, when suddenly in the middle he pauses and lifts another burden, the burden of Khushi's affair with Shyam.. he manages to balance it both deftly, never going off wire but the balancing act costs him, it is sapping at his emotions, he is weakening but yet he continues , not letting go until done to his satisfaction...

The quip, Manjhe hue Khiladi hai'...implies that he is a man who shud not be under estimated and that he knows the games, its rules and will play by the necessary rules at given time surprising one and all or is it a hint to us viewer's saying that the PH are experts and know which card to reveal at the chosen time !!

Arnav comes towards Khushi, still carrying the mighty wooden staff , Khushi offers him water ..In return, Arnav asks her to hold on to one of the staff , Khushi is unable to hold on to it and is about to let go when Arnav control the fall, takes it away from her and shoulders it himself ..Khushi yields to him and allows him to carry the burden instead of her usual , " No, I'll do it myself, I don't need ur help " speech .. It is only after this is the water accepted and Arnav is anointed as the 'Chosen one ' by sprinkling the water atop his Head !!

We have seen the North/West in action.. How Arnav will be the one who will think it out while Khushi will provide the push towards the truth,Arnav will begin to connect the dots and Khushi will provide the final picture.. The picture will make sense to Arnav and he will stand like the 'Ped/Tree ' covering the Gupta ladies ...In accordance with his mission, he has even begun training and just like a warrir is anointed with tilak, so has been Khushi anointed Arnav using water . but when will the time come ??The constant emphasis on the time in the latter half suggests that the showdown is imminent, first it will be between Arnav and Gupta's..it could be a showdown or it could be a explosion.

Arnav is stopped everytime he is almost at the doorstep of truth...we saw Buaji stopping him, we saw Khushi stopping him.. but then he finally will not be stopped and that is when a precious suggestion comes from Buaji, Buaji tells Arnav to manage the flow of water, if opened incautiously it will flood the washroom , inundating him too.. Arnav appears to heed the suggestion,,... Will Arnav act wisely and just allow such amount of information that will allow him to tackle Shyam or will he explode devastating every one's life ...??

The dirty laundry which has been kept safely inside is brought out by Arnav and it is Buaji's which comes out first, does that mean, Buaji will be the first one to crack in the Gupta's clan and reveal information about Shyam or will Arnav pries it out of her ..

Khushi holder of 3 cans ..if it was 3 towels earlier now it is 3 cans , She states her family motto of restoring things to its place But we find her outside at the threshold unable to do so and Arnav is the one who begins to do it but not before displacing the 3 cans and confirming Khushi's, " You always make things worse before controlling and managing it !!

Doodhs šŸ¤— What brilliant write up! šŸ‘ šŸ‘ When I saw the title - I was like what is "Nor'wester"!? šŸ˜• And then I read your analysis - North and West - beautiful āļø I loved the explanation of North and West in Novjas theory and in the Zodiac and how well it fits with Arnav and Khushi and who they are šŸ‘ I loved the description of pigeons and how they come to home - no matter what and now matter from where. Brilliant as usual.

However - why do I not see Khushi doing all this for Arnav's answers!? Her thought process extends to mostly that she is going to teach him a lesson and nothing else. šŸ¤” I know and realize that she is pushing him till the edge but where are the monolgues that show that she indeed is doing it for her answers - seems like she is just taking revenge. I guess I should be patient and wait 🄱
My Analysis
I will confess - I did not think I could do any analysis today after watching the episode - Arnav Singh Raizada was back with a bang and looked so freaking Hot (ā˜ŗļø) that to see anything in the first moment was so difficult. But then I watched the repeat again and I saw some things that were quite noticeable ( and I mean more than Arnav). As usual - I will bring it with my equations ;
The Middle - class equation
Today it was all about acceptance of Arnav Singh Raizada into the family and into the middle class society. I was amazed at the reaction of the people when they found out that it was because of the 'damaad' of the Gupta household that the whole electricity had gone off. It was like he was not just the Gupta household's son-in-law but the whole society's son-in-law. The way they dealt it off with a smile and with a proper reason was adorable and that sure made Arnav even more guilty than he already was. He did offer to help - to be refused by Khushi. This is what will happen when Khushi will leave Arnav and go - he will offer her help and support and she will refuse. She would not take his help till she knows the complete reason behind what had happened and when she does - she will herself seek him out.
Arnav Khushi Equation I
The bedroom scene - the fight of left and right side of the bed - the actual fight between truth and lies - the fight between right and wrong - this is what is happening. They fought for the side of the bed - and Arnav takes on Khushi's side - while she takes the other side. He puts the 'Arnav rekha' - a line that he creates to divide and separate both of them - irrespective of what they feel. He did this by forcing her into marriage and the divide just kept strengthening with more misunderstandings. However Khushi's movement over and on the bed - toeing the line of separation made by him - always coming on to his side - shows that the line has been crossed - the acceptance has begun sub-consciously and the divide will disappear and Khushi will be the one who will push him to the edge (Arnav almost on the edge of the bed) - and then finish off this line of control and then be together with him.
They wake up in the morning with Arnav realizing the close proximity with Khushi - and losing himself in her - when he sees her move and looks the other way but does not close his eyes as she looks at him slowly. Beautiful scene - He loves her - lost himself in her - but before the realization could touch her - he withdrew himself from her - but does not close his eyes to his feelings and her goodness yet very far off.
Arnav Khushi Equation II
The jogging and the akhada scene - what a brilliantly shot scene. Loved it not only because of Arnav but because of the symbolism.
Khushi had in her mind from the time she heard Arnav say that he was going to jog - to make him late for taking bath. Her main intention behind challenging Arnav was this and this alone and then to make fun of him. And what does Arnav Singh Raizada do!? He takes up on the challenge without thinking twice - that is what he is about - he knows his strengths and he plays on them. He did exactly that and showed a shocked Khushi - who he actually is and what he actually can do.
'Ye toh manjhe hue khiladi hai - yeh toh sabkuch kar sakte hain'
I caught on this line when one of the men said this. He is a player - he knows how to play games and win them, he knows how to play on his strengths and defeat the opponent - he has done it time and again and he knows that too. When Arnav Singh Raizada plays - he plays to win and nothing else. He can do anything and I mean anything to get what he wants and what he wants to be done. And who better than us audience to vouch for it. He shows to Khushi Kumari Gupta what he is made of and what he can do.
He comes out to take the glass of water from Khushi and hands her the 'weight lifting object' - which she cannot lift obviously. I would relate it to the actual burden on Arnav's shoulder - he is carrying a heavy mass of burden on his shoulders - in his mind and in his heart and very rarely do we hear that 'uff' of pain. If only Khushi knew the extent of pain and hurt and agony that is stuffed somewhere down his heart and carrying it everyday without letting anyone know. If only she could see through him.
Arnav Khushi Equation III
Okay writers I get it - why do you want me to hate Khushi!? I love the Gupta's - infact I adore the Gupta's - but why does Khushi not fall in the same category. While the Gupta's excluding Khushi try to make Arnav comfortable and happy - Khushi does the extreme opposite. I can see that this may lead to Arnav and the Gupta ladies bond a bit much more but why make Khushi irritating for it!? I would just say for me - Khushi's list of redemption is growing long day by day - while Arnav's is just still - if this is for her also to redeem later - then do show it in the future otherwise don't show these scenes where even a bit of guilt from her side for her actions is missing. Atleast Arnav regrets and is guilty time and again for his actions - but with Khushi there is no guilt and no regret and I really want to see her repenting as strongly as Arnav in the future.
I did not see much in the last scene - except the one line that caught my attention.
'Humare parivaar mein jo cheez jahan se uthate hain - usko uski sahi jagah pe rakh dete hain...'
I would decipher the whole shyam truth going haywire. The Gupta's did come to know about Shyam - they knew it was wrong - and yet they did not tell the right person about it. Were there right moments available!? Many! Yet they did not. They did not tell this one secret at the right time to the right person and hence - the whole situation has become a mess now (just like the spilt shampoo). And for this only Khushi is not to be blamed but all the ladies of the Gupta household. They lost out their chance to make things right and they are and will suffer the consequences of it.
Pointers :
1) I can see Arnav will be able to adjust easily in the GH - I do not see much trouble except for the one's Khushi creates. Rest if he is left alone - then he will manage himself fine.
2) On a lighter note - both Arnav and Khushi - what has happened to your freaking hormones!? šŸ˜† Khushi is practically over Arnav and he pushes her aside. Arnav is looking yummilicious and Khushi is worried about the water!? Are these the two people who lost control of themselves in the Diwali night!? Guys - wake up!😔 ā˜ŗļø
3) The rabba ve's not much impressive - something is definitely amiss. Barun looked very very tired - poor guy he needs a long break - however Sanaya was okay. I miss Abhaas in action. Shyam takes the whole episode into a suspense mode and for a layman it is easy to understand where the story is going. Hope to see him on monday. šŸ¤”
This is from my dabba today - Written completely under the influence of a gutter mind.😳 šŸ˜†
Love :)

Time is the longest distance between two places. ~Tennessee Williams

What caught my attention the most in yesterday's episode was the 'Clock'.

Yep... tick-tock, tick-tock it went, showing the passage of time. And isn't that what the show is mainly about now? All of us have our eyes on that clock - 'When?' - we keep asking - 'When?' will the MU be cleared? 'When?' will she tell Arnav the truth? 'When?' will Shyam be exposed? 'When?' will Arnav tell her the reason behind their marriage? (Well, we know that this one is around the corner, probably next Saturday, if the spoilers are to believed.)

The clock keeps ticking there, it counts down: The time for a confrontation, the time for, perhaps, more misunderstanding, the time for confessions, the time for regrets, and the time for separation, the time for the truth to come out and flood every carefully built relationship.

But will Khushi delay the truth from being exposed? Just like she delayed Arnav for his bath, by stalling him and counting down the minutes when the water would stop?

Khushi is the one who maintains a steady eye on the Clock.
She is waiting for Arnav to say something, to tell her about the reason behind the marriage. She is desperately counting every minute and using the limited time (3 months now) to heighten his frustration, provoke his anger, incense him in some way to incite him to lose his temper. She had noted a long time back, that Arnav's mind shuts down completely when he's in a rage. Once he reaches this point - she hopes that he may let out the reason behind their marriage - thereby, satisfying her impatient curiosity.

So, she does what she's best at - irritate him, give him a sleepless night, challenge him the next morning and annoy him further. Arnav, however, knowing his strengths, takes up her challenge knowing fully well that he can handle it - and he handles it with such flair that it leaves Khushi well and truly stumped! šŸ˜† Her antics are not over yet though, she purposely delays him from his bath, by making excuses about clothes to be dried out, washing powder to be taken from the racks, fiddling with the tap while giving him instructions... And it is here, that the truth is right within Arnav's reach, but Khushi fully aware of it, times it to the precise minute when the truth will not be available to him (at least for some time...)

I may be wrong in my interpretation of the scene - but this fit best... I have other theories, may write them down in another post if I have time.

SCENES ANALYZED:

NORTH-WEST GEOMETRICALLY EXPLAINED: "Aap ka ghar uttar mein hain, aur hamara paschim mein, aur agar dishaaon ke hisaab se sona padhe, toh aapko baahar ped ke neeche kabootaron ke saath sona padega." - is what Khushi tells Arnav when they argue about the sleeping arrangements.

Since DB and Tants have already touched upon the Navajos, Zodiac, Air-Water significance of North-West, I won't repeat it here. But, I did think on the lines of 'Geometry'.

Most of us have used graphs during school - the perpendicular 'x' and 'y' axis, '0' in the middle where they join. Now, when you see a 'compass' for the cardinal directions (North, East, South and West), they are mostly drawn in a '+' (plus sign) Now,
Khushi and Arnav are much like an 'x' and 'y' axis. 'X' being Khushi, and 'Y' being Arnav, since Khushi states that Arnav's home is in the 'North'. 'X' is the horizontal line on the left of '+', and 'Y' is the vertical line moving upward perpendicular to 'X'.

What is interesting to note, is that, 'X' and 'Y' being perpendicular to each other, will never have the same reciprocal values, except '0' where they 'join'. 'Y' moving upward has 'positive' ordinate, while 'X' has negative ones. They well never be on the same page. The co-ordinates will always be 'one positive, the other negative'. And since both lines travel at right angles to each other, when one sees something, the other one is busy looking at something else. When one is clear, the other one won't, when one sees light, the other will see darkness, when one understands something, the other one will misunderstand - and this will go on. But the moment these meet and become one at '0' - only then will they be in harmony.

Right now, the two are busy cutting each other at various points - there will be a time however when they will see eye to eye, and look in the same direction - but for that, they will have to be one, confess their love for each other perhaps.

Never knew that geometry would ever help decode a television serial scene!! 😃

As for the pigeon, well again, DB and Tants have explained that quite well, and I have similar points. Can't resist writing though, that pigeons have long
been recognized as symbols of love, serenity, and home. Which means that in the end, Arnav will go back to a place that offers him all this along with his dearest comfort - 'tree'/plant. Like DB said, pigeons have the ability to find their way home - and that is what Arnav will do too. He will find his way 'home' to Khushi's 'love'. okay... all romantic butterflies are fluttering around in my stomach with those lines šŸ˜†

THE BED SCENE: A mosquito net is put up so that daamadji won't be disturbed by the mosquitoes (little did anyone know that another pest would disturb him once in bed šŸ˜†). Anyway, there is an argument over who sleeps on which side of the bed, both wanting the 'left' side. Khushi gives in, for once, and Arnav puts an 'Arnav Rekha' so that they don't cross each others decided sides. Khushi starts her sleep dance, while Arnav keeps pushing her off him. They finally sleep with Khushi holding onto Arnav's tee.

I don't know why, but the mosquito net gives a sense of protection, warding off bad, warding off - Shyam? Will Khushi and her family protect Arnav from Shyam in the future? This one remains to be seen... The 'left' side of the bed had me thinking that both are fighting for a piece of love. Since 'left' signifies the place of the heart (actually it's a bit central, just tilted to the left.. anyway) - so there they are, the two doofy people wanting to be loved. Khushi, probably since she doesn't even recognize the 'feeling' gives in and goes to the 'right' side of the bed. Now, in Biblical context, the right side is considered to be a side of high importance. So, while Arnav chooses love (Khushi), Khushi herself chooses to be on his right, the place of highest regard in Arnav's life!

The Arnav Rekha symbolized the month contract marriage of Arnav-Khushi. It also symbolizes Arnav's need to put a barrier from getting too close to Khushi. She is his weakness, but ASR won't allow himself to slip in emotional matters. He keeps a tight reign over his feelings, especially after the Terrace scene. During their marriage, Khushi in her unintentional ways will keep going closer to Arnav, only to be pushed away by him. Arnav will do his best to emotionally distance her from himself, but he will fail, as Khushi will hold on to him. Arnav will be aware of this hold she has on him, yet he won't tell that to her himself, rather Khushi, one day, will see for herself how deep her feelings run for this man.

Arnav in the Akhada: Khushi challenges Arnav that he won't be able to lift the weights, but Arnav picks up one weight and swings it around easily, and then picks the other one and manages both weights at the same time.

This shows that Arnav knows his strengths, his capabilities, his limits and his endurance levels. The weights represent the burdens he carries. One, his wounded love for Khushi, and two, the terrace scene of Khushi and Shyam. What keeps him intact to handle these is his Ego. Yeah, well okay, ego mixed with anger at being played with. He will not allow himself to let himself go in Khushi's charms (we see that in the bed scene, where he keeps pushing her away), and he won't let Shyam get away with his evil intentions (he marries Khushi to get an upper hand over Shyam).

Arnav asking Khushi to hold one of the weights: After Arnav finishes with the weights to an awestruck Khushi and praises from the men there, he askS her to hold one of the weights so that he can have some water. Khushi however is unable to hold it and bends down with the weight of it when Arnav catches it and says, "Rehene do Khushi, tum nahi kar paaogi."

In the near future, Khushi may get a taste of Arnav's burden. She, being the more emotional, sensitive one, may not be able to take the load, and that is where Arnav will take over.

The Bathroom scene: After his jogging, Arnav goes to shower, but is held up by Buaji who chatters away (now he knows where Khushi gets her 'chattiness' from 😃). After this, Khushi tries to stall Arnav from bathing (in order to put him through the grind of a common person's life) by taking out clothes to dry from the bathroom, making him search for washing powder, instructing him on how to use the tap. During this she says, "Hamare ghar mein jo cheez jahan se uthathe hai, usko uski sahi jagah pe rakhte hai".

Like I said in my clock explanation, Khushi is just delaying the outcome of the truth for Arnav. But her dialogue struck me in two ways:

1. That 'she' Khushi should be given back her original dignity. right now, she is in a marriage that will end in 3 months. She is seen as a liar, a trickster, a home wrecker. So, this can mean that when arnav comes to know the whole truth, right fromt he beginning of how Shyam came into the GH lives and what he did, then he will give Khushi back the respect and love she deserves.

2. Khushi has been playing umpteen number of pranks on bechaara Arnav. This line also sounded like, an admonishment for Khushi herself. 'Apni jagah pe rakhna'. The Gupta ladies may see through her pranks, since they know her so well, and will put her in her place. But this explanation comes only if you focus on the second line.

The episode was a really good one for the brains!! Could write pages, but the others have written similar points, and I've written quite a lot, as usual, so will just end with two characters: one is

Bubbly

This girl again reminded me of Arnav when she states to Payal that 'Aap meri bhabhi ho, mummy nahin" - classic 'reverse statement of the real feeling' like Arnav. This orphaned girl, deep inside, longs for a family of her own. A mother, father... not sure if she would want siblings, but, this is what she would really like in her life.

She makes a face at first on seeing the doll that Payal offers her, but after Payal leaves the room, she eyes it thoughtfully, there's a bit of longing in her eyes too. For someone to see the child she is. Yes, she keeps saying "mai chotti bacchi nahin hoon" but that again is the reverse talk. It's just a cover for the lonely child that she is on the inside.

I sense that Payal and Bubbly will get along well later on. Payal, being the caring, considerate, thoughtful, kind, and loving person will help this girl feel that she does have a place in the family.

The other character is:

ARNAV

This guy's character has been chugging along pleasantly on a growth track.
There are few ASR qualities that he has retained like being a bit inconsiderate (unintentionally), doing things his way, and taking up Khushi's challenges. But at the same time, he is modifying his behavior according to his new surroundings. His interactions with Buaji and Garimaji yesterday show how he understands the plight he has brought on to them (the AC that he installs, is too heavy for the mohhala's load and there's a blackout). When they offer to ease his discomfort in the heat, he politely refuses and tells them that he will be fine, and that there's no need to worry about him. He hasn't complained about anything yet, if he did find something unbearable he took his own methods to make the situation bearable (the AC being one, asking for his toiletries..)

He is slowly becoming grounded - his interactions with the men at the Akhada and the neighbours all show him, maintaining respect, manners, and a touch of humility. He realizes immediately that it is because of his vanity that the whole mohalla has to be in the heat, and he immediately tries to rectify it by offering to call someone to repair the damage.

He patiently listens to Buaji
in the morning as she delays his time for a bath. It was also good to note that he informed Garimaji about going out for a jog. Aye haye, these small things he does simply transports me to dream-land. 😳

Besides that, he is tolerating Khushi's extreme efforts to push him to the edge (which she almost did when they shared the bed - but that was literally) šŸ˜† Of course he now knows that this is her way of getting back at him for lying to her about fainting. Even then, he has been quite wise enough to not indulge in petty arguments with her.
The thing is, how much more will he tolerate? We'll find out on Monday about the extent of his tolerance level.

Well, if I had my way I would have written a lot more... but chalo, will stop here.

Hope you guys are having a good weekend!! 😊 Enjoy...

Cheers!!

Hello Doods šŸ¤— ... My day is never complete until I read Tant's & your analysis on the Redux ... It always gives me a fresh perspective on a lot of things in the episode that I sometimes miss or that I catch on & wonder if I am on the right track or not (& yes my doubts are always cleared after I go through the Redux)

The analysis today was fantastic Doodsāļø ... you are right about the storm brewing up soon in the Arnav's life but as usual whatever happens to Arnav cannot leave Khushi untouched ... The fact that the storm this time starts from Khushi says a lot to me -- often I had wondered if Khushi would know the truth about the marriage first or Arnav know about her innocence first. Both these situations have the same crux -- truth out in open... but both these have vastly different implications. From where I see it, Khushi knowing the truth first & Arnav still not knowing the truth about her will make Arnav's redemption all the more difficult. It will become all the more difficult for him when he will make genuine efforts towards Khushi & she will not appreciate them (as she would have if she did not know the truth & thus would have probably been confused on the change of heart but still accepted it in a better way) . It will be all the more difficult for him to convince Khushi to be a part of his life despite everything that happened.

Waiting for Tant's update 😃

@ doodle, absolutely wonderful.šŸ‘šŸ‘šŸ‘
your reference to the pigeons are so informative.
yes kal baishakhi is d word which i was looking for more than north westerlies. they are d dusty storm which brings a spell of rain and cools down the heat.
i would like to add something here which i felt. though this kind of storms comes and cools down the atmosphere for a day or two, then again we get d scorching heat of summer. khushi's questions about her marriage, sudden change in Arnav's behaviour towards her will find an answer when arnav reaches d last stage of patience and blurts out d truth. arnav's repentance and coming back to her will cool down d heat in her relationship. and once they are settled in their commitment to each other , they would again set out to bring d rains to heat from which both the families are subjected to. they set out to douse d fire started by Shyam Manohar Jha in d life of Anjali. but this journey they will be together, with each other.
coming to my Pov:
i understand the need of the hour for khushi. she has to push Arnav so much to d edge of his patience that he would have to blurt out the truth. but again i felt in doing so cvs are treading dangerous water. some times she is a little rude. to put someone in d bathroom with no water is not a very kind gesture but then again does this person deserve anything good? he is d one who has made her sleep on d stony floor in d cold of Delhi and shattered all her hopes and dreams of getting married to her prince charming. oho i know i am contradicting myself. so obviously i understand khushi's behaviour now.😊
again comes Arnav singh raizada. who gives his best when challenged. he took d challenge from those ppl in Akhada and khushi head on. thru d entire scene his gaze was fixed on khushi. he wanted to show her his power, his strength. and then gets d water from khushi who is despite all her follies is always pure.
next comes Bubbly-Payal-Mami scene.
what wonderful lessons did d Gupta's gave to their kids. both d sisters are humble, honest, and so pure in their heart. Bubbly d motherless child is rude to payal and gets an insensitive support from manorama mami. what a nice approach from payal. she is not showing any kind of anger or dislike for bubbly inspite of her unapproachable behaviour. slowly this child will see d mother figure in her Bhavs who is not aiming at spoiling her silly just to start d relation. āļø

Hi doodhs... That was fantastic explanation "North West" and "Pigeons"
Somehow I felt yesterday that Khushi is going to test ASR's patience to the limit in GH track seeing the irritation she gave him in that "exercise' segment... And you have put that down so beautifully. So she is going to get the first blow. Not only she all the Gupta's are going to be blown up by ASR in his way.

But somehow I feel she should return with ASR to confront or blast or fire up Shyam and prove her stance and then leave Arnav. But still as the plant is with her now I dont know how this will unfold.

Coming to the file segment .. yes if its contents are going to be about the Contract Marriage then Shyam is on roll ...for he is one and only person knowing all the truth . So his role play should be increased in further episodes to make the moves interesting.
