Actually this isn't limited to Gul Khan, there're many other shows with this similar concept and they also run with successful trp's. Given that most serial audience are female, I really dread of even the thought of the thought processes of all those women. there were ML's who kidnapped FL's and even those who sexually assaulted and it's so disgusting to watch those two act all lovey dovey later. No redemption can ever heal a scar on the heart. So can't they plzz stop showing the ML's having such cheap characters and then their redemption tracks.

It must be really depressing even for Nakul to enact those scenes as he's a really good person in reality. It's unlucky that actors have zero power in choosing what to show to their audience. I guess he wore those spunky socks intentionally to lessen the effect of the violence in that particular scene.

Diya's my name, no worries. And that is just disgusting, like I can't. I don't understand how Gul as a woman can show this on screen, it actually makes me want to cry. There was this one scene with my favorite couple, where the girl kisses the guy when he's having a panic attack, and people went crazy! Like, no! If someone is on the verge of a breakdown or something like that, you're not even really supposed to touch the person. It's all about soothing, comforting words. Kissing someone who is having a panic attack is not romantic, it is borderline dangerous, and I know it's not as serious as abuse or murder, but I don't understand how people can manage to romanticize that.

Apologies for butting in but sensible discussions like this just make me itch to post😆

I am not really surprised seeing the romanticizing of yesterday's epi and previous one. People say they are not supporting the act but then . . . Whereis the place for but if you really disagree with the way he act? Then pages of justification that how he was in character and what do we expect! My favorite line is the scene was very hawwt, return of ML👏 so you see while many are like ohh it was inhuman at the end of day all are siding with character. This is where we as a viewers are going wrong. We have these double standards when serial air we have a view and then we change it. After a while all are forgiven cause 1) the couple is meant to be no point of discussion 2) soon we will get hawwt scene minus these physical assault so what the hell!

These justification that character is Grey that's why it's fine is such a BS. Let's cut down fancy words, shall we? Grey is someone who's willing to cross the line then come back. Black or villain has no line. White is saint. When I say line i think we all know what kind of barrier that is. Threatening to kill a kid, saying he can undress a girlr and stuff is way above the line. Now let's go back to Early ekta days. Remember the quintessential villain guy with smirk and hate and raping another character? Didn't we despise them? Wanted them to die or get punishment? why not now? Cause these shows or books are selling the same villain to us with senty(or not) back story, love/obsession for a girl and good looks. We are failing to see behind the glitter the same person is there. We don't see the heinous acts and justify it. That was character! What do you expect?!

All we can do is discuss these things but problem is the PH itself loves these things. Why won't they? She has backing from phans who shuts down every word of criticism by yelling 'Character!' 'Feminist!'🥱

You can see it . . . 70+ likes for a post glorifying how so in character the epi was, while these posts discussing the follies mostly taken over by stans

Like, NO! I don't understand how any woman can like or support something like this. This worries me to no end, and I am just baffled. Like, is this the way they want to be treated by men, or think we should be treated by men? Just because it's TV, doesn't make any of this okay and not applicable to real life.</font></font>

Exactly the worst of all is Ekta Kapoor the amount of torture she puts her female leads trough is a inhuman. But TRP aunties love it and the makers gets money who cares? Some people don't get stuff if you don't put them through such things themselves. I would dare Gul or any other female producer to live with a guy like Shivaay or any other of their leading male characters

And I dare Gul to make a show wid a female character like Shivaay who is torturing d main lead. Dekhna show 1 mahina bhi nahi chalega. Gaaliyon ki bouchhaar will start coming for dat female lead 4m dat 1 of d show.

Actually Ekta showed heroine strong in a historical show which ran 2 years. Being historical show, d hero never hurt or insult d heroine in a bad way. Now there is one more historical show of Ekta on Star itself where d heroine is grey-shaded even wanting to kill d hero but people hates her n calls her irritating. They don't want her opposite d hero but another heroine who is sweet n innocent. Very few people love dat heroine.

His actions have been nothing short of sadistic and downright cruel. He is the hero. Ergo everything is explainable and ultimately justifiable. Apparently.

They have deliberately tried to show that he is doing this for his family, time and again juxtaposing their collective joy with his turbulent thoughts, and having him dance with them to emphasise the softness that is in him when it comes to them. And then the very prominently shown change when he takes off his headgear. Dadi's Billu to SSO. To keep them smiling, he is willing to do anything. As in, it excuses the atrocities he's inflicting on the girl. Because after all, it keeps the happiness intact on Dadi's face. Not to forget maintaining the khaandaan ki izzat in front of society and business rivals.

All those stylised actions in the scene when he corners her, don't in any way hide the sheer brutality of his actions. And then to have her sink in relief against him, seeking solace from the one who's toying with her, torturing her, was just shocking. Have the CVs been reading, when "Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind, And therefore is winged Cupid painted blind. Nor hath Love's mind of any judgement taste; Wings, and no eyes, figure unheedy haste." when they had Annika tell him at one point that he lost the plot upon reading Tia's little goodbye note?! To indicate she understands where he's coming from?! To already build up his redemption.

There's no denying there's evil in the world, it's this appalling attempt at justifying it that I have an issue with. It has as much to do with being humane as it does with feminism no?

I am surprised dat u being a guy is so much irked by Shivaay. On d other hand, many girls here n on instagram support Shivaay in wateva he do n call d person against it as feminists. If Gul had made Fatmagul then there wud have been no Kerim n Erdogan wud have been d male lead😆.

How dare you say that? Don't you know a female must be submissive and follow every order of her man? How dare you say she should make a female character like Shivaay?? Don't you know all girls should be is sweet innocent and bubbly? You know every woman does want a such a man. If not than they are a feminist or has lot of arrogance or attitude.

@bold

Exactly that was because the show was a historical show. If it hadn't been she had made her also a meek character.

I agree with your point of view.
And there's nothing wrong in being a feminist.😳
Afterall, we can't change our thinking just for the sake of it.

Hello to everyone here and it was really good to read everyone's views. I might have failed to pressed Like for all the posts and I will go back and do that eventually 😊

I haven't watched this week's episodes yet because I cringed at reading the written updates. I might decide to skip the episodes altogether.

GK has always been a sadist. But this isn't new to GK shows but she has stooped to a new level in my opinion. She could have shown hatred from SSO's side in a much low key way that does not show any bodily harm. What he did was actually assaulting her. I have no idea how young girls or any women on the forum or twitter or any other medium think this is okay. There are so many posts in the forum that say that its justifiable for him to do what he did because he acted in character. Its disturbing to be very frank.

I work in a very male dominated industry where I have had to work extra hard to move up the food chain, so to speak. If young girls these days think that it's acceptable for a man to treat a woman like this then it's a harsh reality in the real world. We already have so many prejudices to overcome and to add to this list is male domination.

Not to take anything away from the actors, they did a fantastic job. Both Surbhi and Nakul are amazing actors but I am sure these scenes might have been hard for them to enact as well.
