I haven't watched this week's episodes yet because I cringed at reading the written updates. I might decide to skip the episodes altogether.

GK has always been a sadist. But this isn't new to GK shows but she has stooped to a new level in my opinion. She could have shown hatred from SSO's side in a much low key way that does not show any bodily harm. What he did was actually assaulting her. I have no idea how young girls or any women on the forum or twitter or any other medium think this is okay. There are so many posts in the forum that say that its justifiable for him to do what he did because he acted in character. Its disturbing to be very frank.

I work in a very male dominated industry where I have had to work extra hard to move up the food chain, so to speak. If young girls these days think that it's acceptable for a man to treat a woman like this then it's a harsh reality in the real world. We already have so many prejudices to overcome and to add to this list is male domination.

Not to take anything away from the actors, they did a fantastic job. Both Surbhi and Nakul are amazing actors but I am sure these scenes might have been hard for them to enact as well.

You want to know the most f**ked up thing? I read a comment in a thread where a girl was saying 'okay , yes, Sshivaay manhandled Annika. But he did not kill her or rape her, so whats the big deal?'

It makes me sick! To think that women think it's okay, acceptable, even hot for a man to push them around is despicable. It reminds me of Trump's "grab'em by the pu**y comment" and how republican women defended him saying that women like being grabbed. It's horrible and scary.

See, we are not stupid. We know this is a fictional show, we know that Shivvay and annika will end up together, no matter if he redeems himself or not. The reason we are showing our disgust is because life imitates art and vice versa. If you show your lead actor doing such actions that means you are telling the world it's okay to do so to the girl that you love. That they will like it. Spoiler alert : We Don't!

And all of the women who are defending his actions right now, I don't know what they'll say if they actually meet a victim of abuse some day. "Hey, it was your fault? Why did you interfere? You should be in your lakshman rekha like a good little lady? It's your fault that he did what he did? You made him do it?"

It's pathetic, really.

Sorry to butt in. The comment that girl made made think, We always talk about how men doesn't respect woman but does we ourselves respect each other? When a girl gets raped or gets eve teased women say that it's the girls fault. When there is a divorce it's the woman's fault. When we ourselves doesn't respect our own gender why should we ask men to respect us?

Hi Richa!

I have read that same post I think and a few more where people have gone ahead and justified his actions and said its not rape so why use that word. Some like you said have gone even further and said that its okay whatever happened, they will be together in the end. That is what GK does. She has created a cult following. She is a woman herself. But you know the saying, women are women's worst enemy.

Shows like this have a lot of affect on women. How do people not see that? this is maybe my 4th Hindi show and I think I get really worked up and quit eventually. I don't survive many shows and haven't seen the end of most of them.

Don't get me started on Trump..i didn't sleep that entire night of election. I finally went to bed at 3am when Hillary was losing Florida and Pennsylvania. I knew if she lost both she cannot win it. I have such bad luck, I now live in a country that voted for Brexit and I am citizen of a country that voted for Trump!!!!!!!!!!! 😡

and btw I am a democrat...my state voted for Hillary..thank god for small mercies... 😊

Hello my awesome, intelligent, and EMPOWERED loves!
You all have seriously made my day. Faith in humanity RESTORED.
I promise I have read each and every one of your comments (I'll try and respond as soon as I can) and I'm sending all of you great big bear hugs because I am so so PROUD of you!
You are what will move our society forward. You are what will help make this regressive mentality a thing of the past. This issue of romanticizing abusive relationships on television (whether Indian or even western) has been a perpetual problem and it can only be eradicated by people speaking out against it. If you see it, please call the PH out on it.
Keep calling people out on their hypocrisy. Keep reminding yourself and others that every woman and man has a right to their own body and should not be shamed for defending themselves! Let's continue to see things exactly as they are and NOT attempt to excuse the inexcusable!
All my love,
Anjum ❤️

Everyday so many women suffer 4m domestic violence but Gul is shamelessly romantizing it In s name of romance. She sud doob maro in chullu bhar paani. She replies to one of d girls dat they r not on d same page n she did do morchas if she is so concerned abt women wen dat girl pointed out d wrongs she is showing. She is so insensitive by giving such a reply. One of her supporters told her not to reply to d bashers n she agreed wid her dat she is right dat she sud not reply. 2day I cud not even watch as I came to know dat Anika was crying in d entire epi while Shivaay was forcing her to pose pics wid him while making her get married to him n during pheras too he was dragging her like a dog. He again threatened her wid Sahil's life. Still people r making posts of praises on them n laughing out abt d scenes in their posts. No wonder why Gul is always getn encouragement to show such nonsense wen d women only support such things against their own gender. 2mrw Shivaay will try to throw her away like a use-n-throw material as her use is over without his family's knowledge but Omkara will catch them.

Exactly! You would not believe how many women on this forum use 'feminism' in a sarastic, patronizing way. They have no bloody idea about the centuries of struggle women have taken up on their behalf, on our behalf. I see 'white feminism' and 'psuedo feminism' used a lot. What the f**k is that? Personally, I thik its complete bullshit. Yes, the West is more progressed and morre privileged than us. That does not mean sexism doesn't exist. They too have a wage gap. They too have rapes and domestic abuse and many other things. Just because our circumstances are relatively more difficult doesn't mean they have no right to fight for their rights. If we apply the theory of relativiy, then only a single person in the whole wide world is supposed o be sad because somebody else will always have it worse. And only a single person is supposed to be happy for the same logic.

To be honest, this forum has become even worse than buzzfeed comment section. It makes me sick.

Honey, when they call you a feminist (even in a mocking way), you stand tall and you wear it with pride. You wear it with pride for the women who have struggled for centuries so their voices are heard. You wear it with pride for our mothers who work so hard to bring us up and take care of our house and all they get as thanks is being called a 'housewife' in a condescending way. You wear it with pride for us, who are struggling to make the society understand that we have full right to an education and relationships and sex. You wear it for every woman ever who was ever degraded and looked down on and you promise yourself that you'll do better. That you will take a stand against what is wrong, that you will speak up for your rights and you don't give two shits about people who think that you should keep mum and stand in a corner like a good girl.

I am not trying to be preachy but I am really pissed seeing the reactions of everyone on this forum and I couldn't stop myself.

Sending you love❤️

Thank you for that legal definition of what abuse consists of. Gul and her writers should read this. That scene where Shivay physically bullied Anika will be one of the lowest moments in the writing of this show. Him threatening her could have been shown in any number of ways. The fact that they showed him throwing her around, hauling her up by her hair, etc. is typical of a certain mentality that allows men to so easily resort to physical strength as a way of imposing their dominance on women they think of as their property-be it their wives, sisters or daughters.

And I am not a fan of 50,shades but still want to say one thing. There is a difference between physical.bullying and bondage. In the latter, I think both partners consent to it and have safe words and so on to stop themselves if either goes to a limit that the other finds uncomfortable. What we saw on screen was nothing of the sort and must not be read as such. The fact that the CVs made Shivay act that way is something for which I cannot forgive them.
And going through the posts, I am even more disappointed in Gul. To think that as a woman she has such an opinion of feminism and feminists is truly saddening.

I agree. She could have shown Shivvay threatening her in many other creative ways. That whole shot was like some other Shivvay - no the cool, calculating businessman who uses his resources and smarts but a bully who uses brute strength. That actually does not go with Shivvays character at all.
Manipulative, shrewd and cunning should be used - She says he is the MIND -BRAIN whatever so where did this come from??
Respecting yourself and the fact that you are a woman with rights over your body and decisions does not make one a feminist. And if it does then I am proud of being one too!!!
