He's singing Patta Patta Boota Boota from a Jaya Bahaduri/Amitabh Bachchan film "Ek Nazar".

It was sung by Lataji and Rafi Saheb.

I'm quite looking forward to watchIng Devendrapal's rendition this Friday. 😊

Originally this is a famous Gazzal from Janab Mehdi Hassan sahab of Pakistan, the king of Gazzals.

I like Ghulam Ali's version as well. But my favourite is Jagjit Singh's version from Mirza Ghalib.

Some poems do stand the test of time. Mir originally wrote it over 300 years ago.
