Appreciation Thread

~Thanks to Sami01 for this lovely creation above :)~

Why we love Devendra Pal?

-He has an amazing voice at only the tender age of 17, amazing voice quality and tone

-He has a fun loving attitude, and seems to take whatever comes to him with happiness

-He is very modest and seems down to earth

-He is such a pyaara bacha :) in the words of Anuji

-Lataji loves him

-He has such a natural, non-contrived way of singing

-Expressions are simply, right on!

ABOUT DEVENDRA

Age: 17

Location: Born in Patna, Bihar but now resides in Ludhiana, Punjab

School: Guru Nanak Public School

Music Career: Started singing at 9. His formal training under Ustad Sukhwant Singh began when he was in 12th. He can sing Bollywood, Sufi, Classical and Western. He won Voice of Bihar and came in 3rd place in a competition commemorating the memory of Ishmeet Singh.

I agree! His singling is so clear and touching!! I hope he gets in the top slot...he deserves it! His attitude is so good...always smiling. He looks very patient. There have been contestents who literally plead for the card but he seems so receptive to whatever be the outcome. I love his approach.

I have to agree I am impressed. He seems very talented as such and young age. I can see this guy being one of the finest singers of India some day whether its through II6 or outside of II6

Its better for the judges as well because kids who start crying are very hard to reject lol.

He seems to be very fun loving, i loved his song from chalte chalte- teri meri oun tut gayi soniye jivaa tutaya ambar thaun thara.

I think he also has the cutest smile, makes him more loveable.

I saw an article on him on TOI. I will post it here. It is his tone quality which is amazing, however I would also love to see his range...we have seen some, but I want to see his scale. I am not familiar with Indian music, since I have been trained in Western, but maybe some high C's etc. His voice sometimes has hints of sukhwinder singh in him.

Wow! He is a sweet kid who has a great voice with excellent voice quality & modulation. He has been very impressive during these auditions.

I am not too sure if he is attending Jawwadi Taksal, Ludhiana at the moment. Usually all Punajbi kids start their career from Gurmat Sangeet that is shabads from holy Guru Granth sahab. I know Ishmeet Singh was a student of this institution. About seven years ago two teachers fron Jawwadi kalan came to Toronto and offered free Harmonium & Tabla classes for 10 weeks. I was lucky to attend these classes as it was a good opportunity to learn Shabad Gurbani in Raags.

Can you change the title of this post and make it to read, "Davinder Pal Appreciation Thread"

I think he was there in some earlier show for a very very short period. I think srgmp. wondered why ashaji had rejected him then😕

Well I don't think this kid has appeared in any other show so far. Yes there was another guy in srgmap from Faridabad who looked like Davinder Pal. His name was Tajinder Singh.

Yup will change the name of the thread, and it would be nice to know if he was in Jawwadi Taksal! I will try to fancy up the main page as well. I loved Ishmeet, its nice to see someone sing like him!
