This is the fake feminism we are dealing with every where. Malini comes into that category, that is why most people may be able to relate to her, it is another story that she doesn’t take a stand for her at all.

Imlie is the personification of women empowerment, this is a girl who didn’t had any privileges growing up, but still worked hard to get educated and make her career, she faced a lot of issues but had the strength to fight and come victorious. Yes she had some bad memories with them shaadi the jhoda, but she is not someone who will sit and cry over it and guilt trip everyone, she is someone recognizes the problem and finds a solution her own way, we have seen Adi mentioning the same exact thing when she dressed up BK and CK as devi’s with 8 hands to make a point that they can do all the chores at home alone. This girl always faces any issue head on and with dignity and that is the real women empowerment

+1 well said, Jo. It is a sad truth indeed that aajkal “empowerment” has been reduced to just pointing fingers and giving token rude replies for the heck of it without actually trying to manage or solve situations or relationships. These are false victories if people want to consider them “victories for empowerment” 🙄

Imlie’s approach to life is where empowerment lies. A woman who doesn’t let the challenges in her path bog her down and still manages to make her place no matter what the situation. A woman who doesn’t rely on others to come and solve her problems but solves them herself, makes her mistakes and learns from them on her own. If this is not an empowered individual then what is?

But somehow she will always be dismissed as “regressive” if she follows her faith and respects her marriage 🤷‍♀️😂. As if you aren’t strong or empowered if you respect your faith, values and elders. Waah Kya soch hai 🙄…..matlab as long as you go around doing token naarebaazi to pull down others like Malini types do, it’s 2021. Warna Imlie is supposedly from the dark ages 😂……I never knew ki rishton ko sambhaalna, nibhaana while still adhering to your self respect and values makes you regressive 🤷‍♀️…..Some people want to make everything a zero sum game.

I did skim this episode a bit, but for me the best bits were:-

Imlie saying she would wear original wedding sari and why.

Aparna finding out how Imlie gave away her haq with her own sindoor to Malini when she married Adi, Apu was well shocked.

Imlie taking aashirwaad from Apu.

Pallavi and Imlie comradeship.

Looks between Adi and Imlie.

Nishu still seems a bit too non-reacting.

Exactly, men or women doesn't need anyone else to solve their problems, it doesn't mean you can't take help from others. Take help as required but don't just sit and wait that others will solve your problems. Don't look for shoulders to cry on and show you pity.. This show exactly shows that difference. Imlie faced all her problems head on, Adi didn't accept the marriage, she didn't had any place to go then (she is young, new to city) but once she saw a chance after coming to T house, she found her own way to stay there, said she needs work and that is what she did. If he didn't want the relationship she gave up on that however difficult it was to her. You don't want to be in a relationship where you are not needed. She went back to her village only for Adi to bring her back in both the instances. She didn't complain about Adi to anyone because it is no ones business except hers. Meethi is another great example of an empowered women, who raised a brave, independent girl as a single mother facing the society that would have made her life difficult.

On the other, we have 'you know who' who cries on any and every shoulder she finds, even though she is an educated, working women with all the privileges one could ask for. Her mother, doesn't have her own identity, she is only known as her husband's wife.

The apple didn't fall far from the tree in both the cases.

I totally agree with the rest, but I have a slightly different take on the bolded bit.

So again, it's worth remembering that Imlie only came to T house because Adi brought her over from the NGO after that incident......otherwise she was willing to stay even at the NGO and try and figure out her situation......THAT is the courage and resilience of this girl. She was never at anyone's mercy......she has literally made a place for herself in EVERY circumstance. The forced marriage took away every choice from her and even THEN she made her way.....with DIGNITY at every step of the way. She took Adi's hurtful words, his frustrations - everything in stride and still kept making her OWN way. He brought her to T house, so she came.....but she stayed in such a way so that HE could save face.....that is why she chose to take on the role of a maid......T's gave her room in one corner of the house as they would any maid, so she decorated that whole place and made it her own.....THAT is who this girl is.......kisi ke rehem-o-karam pe kabhi nahin pali.

She was never looking for any chances or opportunities.....coming to the city was her dream but the way she was brought to the city never made her look at it like an opportunity.....those early months were about her just trying to get her bearings in T house and she managed to balance both things - hiding the truth because Adi didn't want to accept her and still making her own place in the house.....and she did both things because that's just who she is.....it was never to achieve any agenda.

Everything that happened from that point on was DESTINY.....a flow of circumstances.....she didn't go searching for opportunities to get taught by BK....woh apne aap hi hua.....aur jab mauka milaa, she didn't refuse it, she accepted it.....but she never went SEEKING.

The marvel of Imlie to me is in her unique mix of acceptance and willpower.....she accepts whatever life throws her way but never lets it DEFINE her.....she still makes her OWN way....whether in subtle or big ways.....kisi bhi situation ko yaad kar lo....that is what she has done at every point.....she will accept a lot of things out of love and regard from those in her life.....but she will still do things her OWN way😆.....it is deceptive to think she is a push-over in any way😆.......and that is what ultimately made Adi fall so deeply in love with her too......this mix of qualities that are a rare sort of gem.

So much word on the bold. This reminds me so much of the conversation she had with Adi just before she goes to PD. I cannot forget the expression she had when she stopped Aditya from calling her his Zimmedari. Even then she was ready to go and continue with her life her own way and of course we all know what happened next 😆

Caught up on all the discussion 👍🏼 great discussion everyone! Are you all ready for the dance competition?😆 Ha ha here too she is figuring it her own way of including Adi in her dance 😆😆 I wonder what stops Adi from dancing with her if it’s a couples competition 😆

Oh I was so SO floored by Sumbul that day.....what a phenom she is

My other fav. bit from that scene is this one.....just reminds me again ki abhi bhi KITNE log nahin samajh paate Imlie ko as they demand such ajeeb things from her character without understanding the basis of who she is as a person

To answer your question.....LOL I don't think dance competition will happen today.....aaj build up hi chalega😆.....but yes, excited for it either way😆.....and also yes, on Imlie making her OWN way once again.....jin logon ko hasna hai, mazaak udaana hai woh unki problem😛😆

I think Adi ko Aparna stop karegi and Imlie will ask him to rakho Aparna ki baat ka maan😆.....waise bhi this whole competition is about Imlie wanting to prove herself on her own level....she will likely ask that he step back from participating with her taaki family waale aur upset na ho😆
