Mitchell Marsh | Australia captain: I thought it was a competitive total. We probably left ourselves a few short after the start we had. Well played to SL, they outplayed us tonight. We know that at our best we can make big scores. We just lost our way towards the back end. SL bowled really well towards the back end. We knew we were a few short. Not much else to say except that SL outplayed us. We're in the lap of the Gods now I think. Lot of emotions in the room right now. Haven't been at our best. Disappointed bunch at the moment.

And...breathe. What a run-chase, especially for those with a Sri Lankan persuasion. They now become the fifth team to punch a ticket to the next stage, and Australia, as Marsh said, are now at Ireland and fate's mercy.

Australia came into this tournament as one of the favorites. But things have gone south pretty quickly. If Zimbabwe beat Ireland tomorrow, Australia are heading home. So the Aussies will all be Ireland supporters for one day. Sri Lanka came into this tournament on the back of some poor results but have now gone into the next round. It's time to bring down the curtains on this one.

No, all four teams have four matches.

Australia has a match against Oman on 20th. Supposing they win the match, they'll have 4 points. But Ireland has a match tomorrow with Zimbabwe. If Zim wins the match, they'll have 6 points. That means it's game over for Australia. Phir kya fayda khelne ka ?

If Ireland decides to play spoil sport, then Australia has a chance but it's not a sure shot chance since there's the factor of NRR. Like Marsh said, it all depends on fate.

Even if they qualify, they'll have to face teams much stronger than them (at present). WI, SL, IND, SA, their arch rivals NZ.

Even if they qualify, it'll not mean much.

Feeling bad for Afghanistan. They are in a group with really strong teams. SA are the top of their form.

Shubh shubh boliye smiley36

There's no reserve day for league level matches. It means the teams will split the points.
