We have originated out of a male dominated society where men were considered supreme while females were meant to bring up kids and confined to household responsibilities. Even I wonder why was this condition of our society. Gender inequality always existed. We have witnessed many examples from our past records of how women have always been considered a weaker sex. Sati system, female foeticide, dowry, etc still exist though these are reduced to a great extent now. But this decrease today, cannot erase the past difference between two sexes. How this assumption of man being fairer sex came into existense? From men itself. Even today rapists feel themselves superior to women that they intend to this henious crime of rape! After every 40minutes, a girl is being raped in India, statistics says so. We have not moved on! There were no strict laws for such crimes that encouraged rapists to throw mud on feminity. Even today, if we consider sex ratio of India, females are comparitively less than males. This is our past, and this is still our present. Majority of people in India haven't moved on. In that case, if a girl comes forward to take up the work of earning income for her family, then does she not deserve a word of encouragement or appreciation? I think yes. In class, if a weak student tries to improve himself in studies, then teachers motivate him by all means. Every individual tends to perform better if he/she is appreciated and encouraged. So if today, girls are coming forward to reduce this gender inequality, then they do deserve applauds. Thats why we refered Indira as inspiration. Government offering scholarships to girls for education is again a way of motivation. Even today parents tend to spend more money on boy's education as compared to girl's. Many have moved on! But the percentage of people who still maintain the thinking of males superiority is no less. But we are working on reduce this gender gap today. That is why possible efforts are being taken to provide the girls the same position as that of males be it in the field of education or work sector. I do not think applauding Indira for earning income being a girl is increasing gender gap. It's rather encouraging females. Even many boys support this thing.

Comin to work sector, Mona Lisa Tours and Travels ran on Indira's shoulders and her boss respected and credited her for this. Even if she was a guy, his boss would have given credit to her in the same way. Rakesh Sharma was the first man to reach moon from India, while Kalpna Chawla was the first indian to reach space. Don't we give the same level of respect to both of them? It's not that because Kalpna Chawla is a female that's why we appreciated her more. Prakash Padukone was a world no.3 in bandminton and won various medals for India while Saina Nehwal won medals in Olympics and Commonwealth games and reached world no.2 at one stage of her career. Both are given same level of respect no matter whether they are boy or girl.
No one is saint in today's world. Not even those babajis who gave their pravachan on religious channels! They do expect things in return. Saint is that person who offers people without expecting anything in return. But today, if you offer a piece of bread to them, they ask for more Kajus,Kishmish, etc. I have experienced it. Not even a single person on this earth is saint today. It's not that men do not expect anything from their wives after coming from duty. They expect them to prepare food, manage other household works, prepare tea for them. So does this makes a man selfless? NO...I can also tag them as selfish because they do expect things in return. So was Indira. Expecting love from family was her weakness. I don't think expecting love and support can be tagged as selfish. That way even I can call Rishi as selfish person cause he needed love of Indira when everyone of his family disowned him.
Some are saying taking care of Munna's family was Indira responsibility while some are saying it her stupidity. Decide first ! If it was her responsibility being a part of family, then Rishi fighting against Sameer Diwaan for Mandira's justice was also his responsibility because he was part of Indira's family! Regarding Zara saving Indu from those terrorists, then it was her duty being a policewoman. Okay let me analyze the difference between humanity and responsibility. When Simi Diwan's deliberately collided her car with that vendor's cart(which served as his livelihood) and refused to pay conpensation, then Indira helped that vendor in getting him the compensation. Vendor was not Indira's relative, it was not her responsibility to do so..She did it for humanity and justice. When Sanjay(Vidit's caretaker in hospital) needed blood for Vidit and Indira had extra blood sample. She could have sold that blood and earned money through it. But she gave it to sanjay at free of cost. It was a symbol of humanity. If any person does all these, then he/she is respectable irrespective of gender.
Whatever she did in BT track for her family so that they could stand on their own feet then I respect her. I would have respected her even if she was a son of her family. Indira's character is quite similar to Arnav Singh Raizada(from IPKKND) and Asad Ahmed Khan(from QH). All these three share similar childhood and betrayal. Then did audience not respect or adore both these so called MEN? So I think even if Indira were a man, she would have got the same respect as these two characters.

awesome post uk👏👏
women r always degraded n considered lesser than their male counterparts...so wen she does sumthing praiseworthy then why nt give her d necessary footage...?
