Okay so I was just watching this show and I am confused. Now I am not a lawyer but I was under the impression that a prosecutor fights criminal cases against a defendant trying to prove them guilty. So this is definitely a criminal case: rape/murder. Anyway, I didn't get the impression that Aanchal was a prosecutor. She works for an NGO right. What sort of lawyer is she anyway.

She owns an NGO so I thought she would be a cause lawyer but then she started fighting for a rape and murder case so she may be a prosecutor? But as this is an Indian show, I am sure they will turn her into an all-things lawyer and then into a criminal defense lawyer for the Raichands (once she is in a relationship with either of the brothers)😆
All jokes apart, I am confused too!

Honestly that was what I was Confused about initially... Coz technically it'd be a prosecutor fighting against the defendant.. But then I realized that this is Indian Tv.. Yaha pe prosecutor, lawyer, attorney is one and the same.. 😆

I have a friend who's a lawyer. She gets offended and disgusted even by soaps like Adalat and movies like Rustom 😆
So one can only imagine where a court scene like this would rank for a real lawyer 😆

Yeh indian soap hai, kuch bhi ho sakta hai. I have not much knowledge of this profession. Anchal runs NGO, phir court cases ke liye time kaise milta hai.

Chalo chaddo!!! Sanu ki... 😆

Yeah its slightly logic less but I am assuming that the state is not really fighting the case(then it becomes a civil case and not a criminal case) and Aanchal is fighting the case on behalf of Meenu's mother, pro bono basis.

Aanchal needs to be a prosecutor to bring the case against the defendant, however since she runs an NGO full-time, she is not likely to be employed by the DOP.

The entire case was a sham and there was no adherence to legal procedure at all. They didn't even have a jury.

The legal aspect of this show has been largely disappointing so far. Especially, Aanchal's so-called legal prowess seems ridiculously over-hyped given the abysmal case she presented against Ranvir.
Clearly, a lawyer is not writing this show and the lack of such a presence indicates that the show will swiftly divert to a more romance/ revenge drama soon.

They could have gone that way, but it wasn't argued as such.

If it were a civil suit then it wouldn't be a murder case at all - it would be a case of wrongful death and Ranvir would need to be proven liable instead of guilty.

Which is exactly why Aanchal was so terrible in court on Friday 😆. She isn't a prosecuting lawyer specifically, she isn't cut out for such criminal cases (murder, etc.).
