an12345678 - No impolite comment is when mockery is made of certain members or their comments, sarcastic or snide remarks are passed, comments made about a members mental health. Thats what I define as impolite. As for "Why don't you see the character the way I see it " goes , well the one who enters someone else's post to discuss holds the same question and hence there to discuss his/her points. Till its discussion done I don't think one objects but when it gets overboard to not share but make a point there where things take a argumentative shape to avoid which few feel the need to add the disclaimer.
Not that I am in support of disclaimers but the question 'why the need to add disclaimer' its one that should be solved before expecting members to stop adding it.

Just for people to know what a healthy discussion means... I would adivse them to go through the 8 pages of discussion in this thread. People have agreed disagreed... discussed and brought out many points. Nowhere in this thread you can see the line crossed even when people did disagree with each other. Why cant all discussion threads on this forum be like this...
PS: This would not have happened if there had been a disclaimer.

I think the Geet DT is doing a commendable job on that front. Our idea of what is impolite and what is not may differ- but I do think that most offenders do get a warning. Our job is to report, policing is the mods job. Prohibition and blanket bans never work.

I find a lot of the disclaimers pretty insulting/mocking as well- bashers not allowed, mera deemag mat khao, dont disrespect me by posting if you disagree. These disclaimers are very offputting especially since every second post on GF (serious posts that do carry someones opinion) these days carries a disclaimer.

I am thinking of going back and editing the main post 😆. I don't want to break the trend😆

Preethi jee: Stealing of my Sword is useless jee. It works only when I hold it jee ... 😆😆😆

Yep, there will be varied opinions including unpleasant ones too, it does not mean that you choose a public park and then put a sign there "Only Similar Thoughts Welcome."

Report an abusive post but not the ones that disagree with you. 😊

There is a massive difference between voicing your point of view and forcing your point of view. Voicing your views means letting people know what u have to say about any topic but not wanting all of them to agree with your view. & on the other hand forcing your views on other means you are expecting other to be of the same mind with your views. If they are not, there starts the bashing round.
This is happening all the time. When a member voices something, other members have right to voice their POV too on this topic. Not bashing members, or attacking them why they don't have the same opinion with u.

That's why sometimes disclaimers are important. Disclaimer doesn't prevent you from voicing your point of views. Just to be respectful of what other say & not make Mockery of them.😊

@ Shradha: Thanks.😊

I wonder if Shakespeare ever felt the need to put up such a disclaimer. And, I wonder if the GHSP team ever felt the need to do so too. By rights, they ought to have been the first one to do so.

@Preethi-Premi - Its more to do with the subject/content of the post than the disclaimer.

Unfortunately, I haven't seen a single disclaimer that says something to that effect😆 and therein lies the problem.

@Shradha - You left out the "dont try to argue with me i am not intersted"

I would say such comments are a mass bashing of the other people in the forum who might disagree. Mods should warn such comments if not official it should be a verbal warning atleast. I mean comeon, there are people who politely put a discalimer saying "Please tay away" but some disclaimers are a mockery if you know what i mean.😊
