Geet slept off,not hearing what Maan had to say

Remembering the 7 pheras he had taken with her, Maan looked at her and said

"Maybe 1 day you will understand the promise I made with myself was from my heart, brain and soul."

He remembered his private vows to her while they were moving around the sacred fire

"I will always protect you.
I will never leave you alone
I will put your needs before mine
I will not make you erase yourself to be my wife. Instead, I will surrender my heart and soul to you. From today, I'm a part of you.
I will always love you..more each day.
I will never let you feel hurt over what happened in the past
I will never ever live without you."

Each second, the glow in his heart seemed to increase and burn a bit brighter, the flame of his love- he let it engulf him and carry him to the blissfulness of sleep.

Next morning

Maan's alarm didn't ring. Geet woke up and saw her husband sleeping on the chair, still wearing his wedding clothes, the taweez still visible.

She got up and smiled at him, feeling safe and content, knowing he was there.
She looked at her hands, now almost black with henna. She smiled a little at the old saying that her husband would love her a lot if her henna colour was dark enough.
She shook her head at that, and thought of Maan loving anyone...it seemed quite surreal.

She carefully walked over to the closet, took out her clothes and went for a long refreshing bath.
She got ready for work, and then went to where Maan was sleeping

"Maan..uth jaayiye,office ka time ho gaya hai"

Not able to help herself at him looking so adorable, she placed her hand on his cheek...

but the smell of henna reached Maan's nose and he got up with a start

"AAYE HAI!!!" maan almost jumped out of the chair.

Geet got scared and immediately started apologizing..

"main woh..sir..nahi..maan..woh main.."

Maan looked at her, and then smiled a small smile

"sorry..woh,mujhe mehendi ki smell bilkul achhi nahi lagti"

Geet smiled back and then started laughing..

For no reason,they both started laughing..feeling lighter that either had for a long long time.

Geet- Main breakfast banati hoon.
Maan- par tum jaa kahan rahi ho?
Geet- office.
Maan- par kyun? You don't need to..
Geet- Mr Maan Singh Khurana..I didn't expect this from you!! Do you think a girl's life stops after her marriage??I still want to be independent and stand on my own feet.. Just because I'm your wife,...doesn't mean....

Both realise what she said and..slightly embarrassed,

Maan-ahem...umm..okay, fine. Tum breakfast mat banao,main juice peeloonga.

Geet- Oh please. Juice se kaam nahi chalega. Important meetings hain aaj and you need to eat something solid. Ab chup chap naha lijiye, main neechhe jaa rahi hoon

She leaves Maan, who is too stunned and does exactly what she told him to do.
