Mihika was shocked. She glanced at the note, then she looked in the mirror and admired the chain. Now she knew where she had seen it. It was Abhishek's. That was the reason she felt she has seen it earlier.
But a big question troubled her.
"Should I go?"
But going would be nothing but encouraging his feelings but born going would be rude and it might leave him dejected. She was confused and this confusion was heightened by sudden realization that she was wearing Abhishek's chain in her neck. She quickly took it off and kept it on the table.
She frequently read the note to decide her next step. Going was not a good idea but not going was not a good one either. If going was again promoting his feelings then not going was ending them forever. Maybe she will lose his friendship too. She was entangled in her chain of thoughts badly and needed help. She rested her head on the pillow and closed her eyes to engross in her thoughts.
The clock rang when she opened her eyes next. Mihika got up in an instant. She took a glance at time. It was 6:30 am already. Her next step was something even she could not explain. But she took the note and the chain and stormed out of her house.
She took and cab for the airport. It was strange. "Why am I doing this?" She thought. She could easily choose to let him leave without meeting her but reason that she did not worried her. Affection, was something she had for him but was it enough to justify her moves? She knew not.
In her way, she strongly clutched the chain and note. She looked at the chain, she could not help smiling. She could not stop liking it. She was not sure whether she had anything for its owner but the thought that she had Abhishek's chain in her hand was something which made her feel secured.
"You are mad Mihika".
Her thoughts shouted out on her liking for the chain. She could not, as of now, remove them but her head was diverted to the thoughts of reaching late and she worried that by the time she reached, Abhishek might have left. She asked the driver to drive faster. He nodded in reply.
Mihika looked outside and she could see couples walking together on the street. London was quite a good place to celebrate romance. But not for her, because she did not have any to celebrate. Nor did she believe that love was the only thing that a girl could or should be engaged with. But she surely felt that loving and being loved were two wonderful experiences.
On her path she also saw a few couples splitting away, some coming together. All this just supported her belief that love was never permanent. It was not the best thing for anyone to invest emotions in. And considering her experiences she wished not to engage in matters of love and romance. But her choice contradicted her actions today. It was not like she came to meet him because she loved him but she definitely found her step absurd.
"Mam, we are here." The driver told her.
She got off, paid the driver and looked ahead. She stood in front of the airport, but she had a bigger task to do, she had to meet Abhishek to clear ant thought of his mind which promoted their romance to brew up.
That was moment, she heard the tagline of a new show on television,
"Dil ka paas dimag nahi hota, aur jo dimag she ho woh pyaar nahi hota".
"Rubbish. All they know is to engage people to stupid matters of love and make the believe how magical it is. Only if that could portray reality through their 'pyaar'." She said as she advanced.
