Chapter Eleven(11? Hope it becomes 111...or maybe you will be bored by then. 😆 )
"Ring ceremony!!!" both Maan and Geet said in unison.
They were both in Dadi's room having rushed there on hearing just one groan from her. Her pain made them almost forget their weird behaviour last night.
Not the almost.
And most wouldn't find it weird.
"Not just that. We will have sangeet, mehendi and haldi. And one pre-wedding outing, you know, a kind of introduction to your honeymoon?" said Dadi with the sophistication of a wedding planner.
"Can we take bhaiyya bhabhi along?" asked Maan hopefully. Geet scrunched up her nose. Maan had a family other than Dadi? He certainly did act like he did not.
"Ahahahaha, you expect the butler to take care of me? He's going to his hometown."
"Oh he's just a butler," said Maan shrugging.
"Excuse me," said Geet, turning to face him. "He's not just a butler. Don't you know how much work he does? Every morning he hands you your robe, serves your omelette and orange juice, , makes sure your clothes are neatly ironed and laid out on your bed so you can pull them off quickly and go to office and puts your shoes polished and ready for you to wear!"
"So you do it. Anyway we are getting married," said Maan irritably.
They both gaped. What had he just said?
"Oh you two are already acting like husband-wife!!" Dadi gushed.
"Excuse me Mr. Khurana, but women are not servants. If you're forgetting I have to comb my hair, iron and make ready my salwar kameez, put on my makeup-"
"You women can think of your appearance only," he said, glaring at her.
"How would you like it if I came to office looking like I'd just got out of bed?"
"You look pretty in whatever you wear Geet." he said, frustrated.
Again they gaped. What was wrong with him?
Luurrvee makes the world go round.
"Oh god, my chest!" wailed Dadi, to break up their fight. She had enjoyed their banter but it was kind of stressing her out.
"Dadi!" they both shouted, and both ran to the telephone.
"Why are you phoning?" he asked.
"For goodness' sake I'm going to be her grand daughter-in-law!!" Geet said exasperatedly.
Another faux pas from Geet Express. But Dadi was enjoying the sudden lack of delay.
"Geet," said Maan, his teeth gritted, 'there's no need to this emotional naatak okay?"
"You don't have trust in me right? Well you know what, my parents might be far away, i still have their sanskaar. They taught me to always help the elderly. " And tears filling up in her eyes, she walked out.
Maan smacked his forehead. She was just being concerned. Why did he have to be so cynical about her intentions?
Was it because of a certain Lianna?
