"I thought you were against me."

Raghav was sitting in a cafe with "miss over-reactor" i.e. Preeti. She had suddenly caught hold of him on the morning following their previous interaction and asked him to meet in the cafe for some urgent talk'. Raghav was quite confused at the sudden change in her attitude, but went there nevertheless.

"I'm still against you. I just don't dislike you enough to choose it over Kalpi's happiness." Preeti replied with her usual air of impatience.

This puzzled Raghav even further. Sensing his bafflement, Preeti continued even more impatiently.

"Isn't it obvious? You know she loves you, so it's easy enough to guess that she hasn't moved on. It's nothing to be surprised. If she sacrificed her life, her happiness, her peace of mind for you, she can't just forget you, can she? I sensed it yesterday after talking to you, she still loves you a lot, she is still so into you that she can't even be happy, let alone move on. You're the only one who can return her happiness, if you can redeem yourself in her eyes."

Raghav considered her words. "I don't know... I don't deserve to get her -"

"I know you don't. But she deserves happiness, and if her happiness is in you..." She sighed, "I don't think even I should have any problem, so you definitely shouldn't... and you said you love her, you said you want to repent for what you had done, so go back to her! Give her all the happiness she deserves! That will be your penance and her well-earned happy life. Don't go back to her for your happiness, but for hers..."

Raghav couldn't disagree to the truth in Preeti's words.

"Okay, but what should I do?"

"You're the one supposed to think of that, not me... and by the way, you know her better, so you'll be the one to get the better ideas, unless of course if you completely forgot her in your Mission Revenge', which is quite likely -"

"Has anyone ever told you that you talk too much? Really, it's getting on my nerves."

"Maybe I've heard that once or twice..." She said, lost in thoughts, but then got back to her senses "I thought we were discussing how you'd get Kalpi back, weren't we?"

"Yes, I'll have to think something up. Anyways, I'll get going now... and thanks... for your help and support."

"It's not for you, it's for Kalpi."

"And maybe I'm saying thanks from her side?"

Preeti smiled, "Hmmm... Maybe you're not as bad as you seemed at first... Okay, Mission Kalpi-Raghav' finalised"

That whole night Raghav was awake, trying to think of anything by which he could make up for what he'd done. They'd never had such a big problem coming between them. Little fights had always been the limit. But he was the one to cross the limit, so he'll have to be the one to recover the friendship which they had lost in his supposed hate.

Finally he got an idea. It was of the sort of idea Kalpi loved, especially if it was coming from him. It was quite likely to work out, if just...

Raghav slowly drifted off to sleep with a smile.
