Look, Chick...I don't agree here with you here...semantics will not get us anywhere... If u are saying if he did not feel he had breached her privacy here...he needs a hard knock on his cracked pot...really needs urgent clinical help and I would be flabbergasted with the "Leave" having a guy like that on the loose... If the CVs intend to play it anyother way from here...its not going to go down well. If u are saying he has psycho issues..well I suspect the same...but that does not mean that based on what has been shown to us..we should not consider the obvious possibility that he is perverted.
Rekha,

Let u snot judge the guy based on one outburst that went horribly wrong for Suman...there are other things to him..

CPing from what I had written elsewhere..

And here I am seeing a parallel between Aditya and Shravan... Pray the forum forgives me..But..I have to point this out...

For Shravan, what he said about his intimacy with her did not strike as lie fabricated to defame her...That was not his intention at all..

Same way, for Adi...It had to be pointed out that his outburst was tantamount to sexual abuse...He really hadn't intended it that way...I don't feel sorry for the guy at all...Just that he could very well be Shravan's more than half- brother by the end of the show..It is best we learn not to despise him...

Regarding his expectations from a wife...at least it was better than 'a wife should warm her husband's bed' by Shravan...So if Shravan said that in a moment of angry outburst and we can forgive him, Adi should be allowed the same luxury. At least this guy had been genuine about helping her with PCT and had stepped around with caution..It is only when his sorted out mom gave the green signal that he went totally berserk!

Indrani,
Please forgive me Chick..rapes or molestation are just that breaching of privacy...I am appalled you wrote it that it was not a breaching of privacy...crimes committed against women have no explanation as well...They are meant to only endorse power of males over females..A right to control women as a property whom they could violate at will...
And if Aditya didnt understand it...you are trying to say he should be let off the hook...It is his failure that he didnt respect Sumo's no...he didnt respect that she had her own choices and was a free agent..
The fact that Aditya was trying to lay the blame on Shravan was far more sickening than anything else..

Nowhere did I mention it was not a breach of privacy..In fact, I am saying he should be punished...

The same Court of Law should try both the men..

One for implying sexual intimacy, where they had been none.. and the other for forcing her to admit it in the most distasteful way...

Aditya comes around as a psycho to Suman, for sure...because she has no idea how Kamini and Shravan had primed him...

I hope I have not deviated from the script here.

@ sanfan -
@underlined...I said this before in a private conversation and perhaps wrote it as well in one of the posts...that the tone of the conversation (The nuance of which i initially missed noting) is at the core of the issue. While I will not say that he knew what he set out to do, (not to Sumo, in my view) his words and tenor of tone have indicted him as a misogynist who is under the impression that he has power over the relationship as a typical MCP thinks...so somewhere his thought gets equated with Adi's thought if not his actions; The CVs mucked it up big time here..and the monologue was adding insult to injury😡😡😡 I know I am clutching at straws here for my sanity as
Shravan is a character I have loved dearly...😊

@Sanfan - he has to be daft to ignore it's implications for Sumo, as a woman, as a friend and as a person. Or perhaps he ignored what it could do to her. He used a woman, as much as his friend, in the context of his conversation. Would this woman have allowed him to use her so? No! He must have known that. Would his friend allow him to do so, even if they were romantically entangled? No! Sumo could not have been an after thought. But that's where the monologue went wrong. Consistency cannot be spoken of in the same vein as Indian TV. But, having said all this, to err is human after all. All of us make mistakes, some more grave than others. And so, in a moment of weak spirit and malicious intent, out of pure evil spite, we do or say things that we would shudder to think about. Sometimes. So, I am not too concerned that Shravan's character has been butchered. He made a mistake. Thats quite alright. What I object to is this 'need' to redeem him. I see no justification here. He made a mistake and he has to bear its burden now - by letting go of Suman, because no woman in her right mind would choose him. Sometimes, mistakes we make cost us people and things we hold dear. In life, we don't get second chances and even second chances come with caveats. So I would like to their diplomatic stand oft continue. He has acted irrationally upon his visceral pique and has punished her enough. It's time to move on.

Brilliant post Rekha! Couldnt have explained better. Kudos to you!! You know what reading your post i just realized that how intresting it would be to see Sumos reaction when Adi will tell about Shravans lie. I would love to see Sumo slap that creep at that particular moment when he will try to justify or shelter his monstrous act against Shravans lie. That will be a cherry on the cake. Also, i would love to know how Sumo will perceive Shravans reaction and exactly what aspect of the truth will hurt her most. And as far as I am able to understand it wont be the fact that her marriage broke with Aditya but the fact that the man she loved n trusted the most in the world betrayed her friendship so brutally. Because she will think his intention was to avenge her or prove that he cannot be defeated. And for that he gave up on all they ever shared till date.
There was a time he said that he would break all their ties, this time she will actually do it! She will devoid him of that one thing that means the world to him, her friendship and that shall be the most painful punishment for him.

@Sanfan: Your post is wonderful!👏 I'd like go over one aspect( Shravan's monologue) of the post because I have a slighly different take on it.
Why did Shravan do what he did if he wasn't cognizant of Adi's psychology? Shravan deliberately made Adi face his worst insecurities head on, no holds barred, by cooking up a story...but if it wasn't going to have a smattering of affect in Adi, would he have done it? Shravan in his quest for instant gratification didn't weigh in the pros and cons of his act! Shravan's monologue in the Thursday's episode was his way of putting himself in Adi's shoes, it didn't necessarily mean he'd conformed to Adi's school of thoughts and endorsed his principles. IF they had showed the face-off scene as a flashback post the molestation incident, it would have looked as if Shravan was trying to do do a root-cause analysis and that would have made the narrative sink into a bottomless cesspit.

There is also this issue of marriage. Oh! Such a sore topic with me (sorry Poppins!). Why should any man feel obliged to marry a woman? That is just wrong. 'She will do just fine without him by her side, thank you!'. What I want is the disestablishment of antiquated norms of chastity and marriage. But this a cultural quagmire in Eastern societies where people kill women in order to protect honour.

I ask, What is the honour of a woman and how is it different from the honour of a person? How does society define it?

Lovely post! I had never thought of it all this way. Extremely forward thinking.

I enjoyed the comments here more than show which I confess I stopped watching a while ago. Great views here.

But the makers of the show. I don't know if I can credit with such deep thoughtful analysis.
They cannot avoid all landmines because they are right now in a quagmire! Grey characters are really tough to handle and they have messed it up with too much conflict.

Currently I think they have compartmentalized shra reactions.. The guilt and redemption are postponed to a later convenient date 😆
