Great post and very good point about cvs not yet relating the 2.incidents which was actually required
And as for Shravan...his character seem non redeemable to me now..
Stepping back we all.have seen him mistreat Sumo in the revenge pct Nirmala& realization tracks... publicly insulting her and holding her responsible things she dint do!.So what if he helped Sumo in the khosla track and then in the accident track that too out of his guilt( I would now like to believe that)..does this wipe off all the other greys and black from his character graph?
In the above tracks he could be redeemed coz he was impulsive and non calculative in his actions
He seemed highly irredeemable after the way he behaved with her at PCT and then the bedroom talk at the party after Preekar wedding and his other actions to hurt Sumo
But with his talk with Aditya at bachelor party cvs seem to have closed all doors for Shravan return...as he stooped down to the level of lowlessness which seems impossible to redeem! And its not only coz what he said but ...
if we think back this was a calculated move by Shravan..he had thought thru it b4 arriving at the party and he even brought liquor for his personal celebration...So this one was not a impulsive reaction..
But the very fact that Sumo dint occur to him while he made this plan speaks volumes about his ruthless careless attitude which now seem.to have taken over better of him which is why he seems irredeemable
And also seemed to have actually moved which is why she din't even occur to him this time!!!

Rekha,

But why do we have to think the dark route?

She is the one who feels he would never forgive her...that he would never be able to trust her again...

So how would she react in a situation like this?

Why should she seek forgiveness? If you mean the incident 10 years ago, he did forgive her, but never forgot what she did - my point again about the difference between forgiving and forgetting. So, even if Suman does forgive him, she will never be able to forget.

It is not about the pettiness of one and the silence of the other, IMO...and redemption doesn't have to be a punishment either.

No matter how much he tries to redeem himself, it will still rankle that he broke her trust, and HOW! Years ago, as a child and in all her immaturity, she broke his trust. He is now a grown man who knows and understands the implications of his actions. Whatever she did, she was not spiteful and malicious. Shravan was spiteful and thirsty for vengeance. His breach of trust was malicious and pre meditated.

In all this, it is enough that if she suffers, he suffers more...and if he suffers, she'd suffer more.

People never embrace the joy of life with an open heart. For most people life is a slow moving charade that has to be performed with fake smiles and narrow lanes and by-lanes of lies, acts, deceptions. Her suffering is like so, her own making. A self-respecting girl, like she is made out to be, will suffer a lot more living life with a man who has scant respect and regard for her feelings. She will be happier single.

Let them be open to this knowledge once and for all...The suffering would be shared.

Also,
WRT Aditya- I was not basing my views on where his future might lie...but wishing he had been answered the one last time he had asked Shravan...Any secrets t o share?- Too bad it had to sound like a challenge...when the guy was at his wit's end...I will leave him there...and we will see where the script takes him.

There was no secret to share. They were best friends and nothing more. neither knew of the others feelings. So they spoke the truth when they told him that there was nothing to share. And, why should Aditya know about Suman's past? It is not necessary. Let the past remain buried in the past. Walking it forward into the present and future will only create trouble for everyone concerned. Some history is best forgotten. Since it is her decision to move ahead it is pointless to look back and analyse and counter analyse past relationships.

Rekha,

Not sure whether the CVs were just lucky to not step onto the landmine last week or they were careful and will continue to be careful. Only time will tell.

I, on the other hand, want to avoid this landmine ( the topic ) 😉

Much has been written about the two incidents and the relation or lack of relation between the two. I am more interested to see as to when and how Sumo will come to know of the lie and her reaction to it - in the short term and long term.😕

You mean to say Suman cannot file defamation suit against Shravan because what he had said had resulted in her marriage being broken and and her family was disgraced..I mean, if Aditya had called off the wedding after what Shravan had said, that is what would have happened...

Forget Shraman...

Imagine any girl whose honour had been used in such a way against her future...Would she not be able to get justice? (I am again cutting out the assault part...so that we see Shravan's act in isolation.)

@chicksoup-
Let's agree to disagree:) it would take a huge shift in his opinions for Shravan to give Sumo the trust and respect she deserves. And whether a relationship existed between them is immaterial. W
For him to lie about intimacy with any girl is wrong. It is a violation of that girls privacy, personhood and rights. It's bad enough when a man kisses and tells but in this case, he alluded to a relationship that does not exist. As a woman, as a person, it will be difficult to forget his rancorous behaviour. It will be difficult to accept friendship with him on the same level and depth let alone companionship for the rest of their lives, especially a girl who holds self respect and duty above all.

On Aditya, but there was no secret in her past to tell. She is not obliged to share with Aditya any romantic feelings she may have had in the past. There was no relationship other than friendship between Shravan and sumo. They did not exchange sweet nothings, words of love. Contrary to their feelings, their relationship and exchange of thoughts was as platonic as that between friends. So there was nothing to share, sadly.

Glad you made this post.I am completely baffled with the people who are thinking that shravan's words led aditya trying to molest Suman. Though i agree that Shravan's act in itself was breach of a woman's modesty and friendship. Also Aditya is a complete pevert. what he did & his thinking actually makes me glad that shravan said those words to make him do the shameful act which he would have mostly done after marriage. because aditya is that type of a guy who would not give space to his wife and force himself upon her thinking he has a right as a husband. That aditya would have made suman's life hell
Shravan on the other hand is only limited to saying things like warming up the bed n implying a physical relationship whereas he will never go forward and do the same thing he has said.
if we look at intentions...shravan's intention was to hurt aditya & nirmala& in that process breached a woman's modesty & his friendship. Suman was collateral damage
Aditya's intentions was to get physical with suman. the thinking that she has done it with shravan so can with me too. his intention was clearly to force suman into a physical relationship with him.
So u see the intentions are also different here though both have led to the same result of breaching a woman's modesty

@sanfan : I had mentioned in one of my earlier posts that it's likely Shravan provoked Aditya because he was fed up and irritated with this guy for claiming what Shravan always felt was his AND he wanted Sumo to be free. Shravan started feeling that Sumo is suffocated and has been pressurised into this marriage. Kamini played her role well here. Probably, lying about their relationship was the only way Aditya would back off.

But, Shravan never expected Aditya to behave this ruthlessly. It was appalling. 👎🏼 The consequence of his lies is already out in the open. The trauma that Sumo would go thru would make Shravan realise his mistake. He took the matter too far. His ego refused the basic reasoning of discussion before taking this step. Once Sumo knows the reason for Aditya's behaviour, she could squarely put the blame on Shravan's shoulders.

Aditya's act was despicable. What a way to get the truth out? But I guess this character has some more acts coming on...

Picking a cue from what all of you are discussing - how do you anticipate Suman's path of forgiveness will be?
Its a given that she IS more forgiving than Shravan - but this massive breach of trust (intended or not) will be difficult to forget. how will shravan guarantee that he won;t flip again, in future?

also, given that shravan himself is not easy on the forgiving or the forgetting front - it should not be easy for him to seek forgiveness as well, right? considering he has been repeatedly blaming suman for how his life and character has turned out to be following a silly reaction of hers whilst a teenager.

It is clear that there will be an elaborate redemption track for shravan, but I am more interested in seeing how he will approach suman for forgiveness and how she reacts to this.

Beagle,

Suman really doesn't hold her self respect above Shravan...She even said that once in a monologue- I remember that clearly...Shravan always comes first, PROVIDED it is clear to her that she is what he needs the most. We didn't see that before because Shravan didn't seem to need her at all...He had been picking up a fight every other second..so she had to retaliate...

Believe me, when two people are truly in love, the 'I' part slowly stops existing...That is because each one knows the other one holds up the other over everything else...

There will come a time in Shraman relationship where Shravan will see Suman for who she actually is..Slowly he will start understanding the difference between self respect and ego...and he will stop holding back...He will also know what she meant by majboori of a ladki..

By then, Suman will also grow to realise Shravan needs her the most..more than his dad or his mom...

If she ever gets to know what he had done, it'd break her heart...and it'd break him further...and she would simply reach out to him in love...

This is my expectation from a love story...I hope I won't be disappointed.😊

On Aditya,

Exactly...Had there been no sweet words and intimacy, even Aditya would have left the matter..He was led to believe otherwise...that is what made him FEEL CHEATED by both of them...I feel the script has been pretty clear on this matter..will wait to see how Aditya is 'judged' further by the writers...😉
