I don't know if we've discussed this aspect of culture before or not . Plz close this topic if it is already been discussed.

Geographical areas which are directly affected by foreign invasions tend to take foreign cultural influences. it means they become complient to change. for eg. Punjab is one such area which was invaded several time in history by others. So you can see a culture which comprises of several elements of different origin.

On the other hand south India and bangal were reletively spared by invader. You can still see ancient cultural elements.

Now we are living in a global village , with strong influences from all around the world and no physical invasion is needed.

What do you think , which culture most likey affect and be adopted by others more and will eventually keep its unique color despite all strong influences ? 😊

This completely depends on the Value System....

If the family is very much mad of other cultures or does not have any respect for their language..culture..they donot need no time to adopt other things and shun their culture...

For that matter....Indians in Newyork can be verymuch Indian and Indians in some Secunderbad can be very American inspite of living in India..😛

^^ I agree, it's very individualistic.. the values that you have. They might be different than the rest of the family, for better or worse.

One of the biggest fears of globalization is the effect on culture. People believe that homogenization of culture will erase present culture and values.

While I do agree cultural change is inevitable, I don't think it necessarily means elimination of any culture but an evolution of culture. There is a certain core value of culture that will always prevail.

Japan has been an Asian nation overtaken by westernization, technology and capitalism. Upon first sight Tokyo appears to be a neon and concrete jungle, just like New York. However, if you walk the streets you can find a culture that is distinctly Japanese. Old fashioned noodle bars, traditional manga stores and elemental aspects of Japanese culture. Even in the modern vending machine one finds Rice drinks and udon, instead of coke and chips.

No matter how much globalization takes place there is still elements that are distinctly Indian, distinctly Latin, distinctly Slavic, distinctly English, distinctly Nordic, distinctly African, distinctly Asian.
