Although, I must say that I am pretty impressed with the Ayodhya verdict, lol. They get an- Exceed expectations grade for that. 🤣

Ok, sorry..

Coming back to the topic:-
Well, every politician is corrupt. I mean, most of them. When did India get a right and genuine leader in the recent times? Even if someone enters the politics uncorrupted (Which I am sure most do), they do become corrupt. It's just the influence..

Yes, we needed someone young, energetic, capable, enthusiastic and genuine. I HATE Lalit Modi for various reasons, but minus his negatives (Which are quite many, btw), he is good in terms of capability.

And if you do live in Delhi, then you can give us a clear picture about all of it. Is Media really over hyping the shortcomings???

True, some pictures were posted which lead us to losing some pride, etc..N some things also happened which contributed to it, but then, if the media wouldn't have done all those, how do you think the situation would have been?

What I hate is, when foreigners are showing faith, our media should also show some. They're INDIAN after all. I don't justify what they're doing now, but what they did before was absolutely right.

CWG has brought out the image of the real India..Majority of the Indians live in that kind of a mess 365 days...That's how it is. And out-of-order lifts, defective ACs, snakes, etc are so common. Come across them everywhere..

I was talking about the faith. The media is insulting by making these issues a big big Breaking news.

Their loss because today India showed the world just how good they are! I can bet they are really regretting it now haha!
I felt soooo proud to be an Indian today! The Opening ceremony was just awesome and I've never seen anything like it. I was so shocked to see so many things, from the painting of the hands-LIVE, to the Gandhiji statue light thingy, Bhudda light image, sand artists, dancers..DELHI CWG 2010 IS GOING TO BE THE BEST THE WORLD HAS EVER SEEN!!😃

I found it funny how as soon as the games finished, NONE of the news channels were reporting the CWG in Delhi-not BBC, nor Sky News, nor CNN..typical media right? I don't get the Indian news channels but i'm guessing all of a sudden they were busy hailing India too right? 8-)

Oh and i'm also glad suresh kalmadi got booed, serves him right and I hope he was embarassed. However we did it in the end and it looks so good!

Once again, I can't express how proud I feel to be an Indian right now! Jai Hind!!

I can comment here now. CWG's in Delhi are a success as of now.
My dad kept telling me that they will take place, they will.(He's part of MCD @ the 3rd highest post. Dont want to reveal name as its internet..PM, I can.) I didn't believe him either even though he was sitting in the inside meetings but damn was I scared for Delhi and India's reputation. Cuz Del is the capital man.
And well, Delhi is CLEAN right now. The road's are amazing. PWD's work was taken away and given to MCD and news channels are just bragging about how amazing the opening ceremony was. Media just knows how to create a frenzy!
And that village, its all clear now. 20 officers + 400 workmen were taken there and all the work done in a matter of time.
And same for Delhi. 3 nights + 200 workers and the roads etc. were shining.
@hindu4lyf:- I agree with you man!

I saw the opening ceremony.....the concept, fireworks and all was good but it still looked quite chaotic....like the ppl on the stage (dancers, performers) themselves looked confused half the time as to what they were doing.

I don't personally think India is ready to host an event like this....it's been quite an embarrassment to see the pictures of the housing arrangements with the filthy bathrooms, snakes, monkeys whatever....and reading this article that return_to_hades posted about the reception the international players are getting on reaching the airport......only gives more fodder to the rest of the world to think of India as nothing more than a backward country of snake charmers and corrupt clunky bureaucracy.....It's just shameful that the pathetic politicians could not rise above their usual cheap antics to atleast save the pride of the country.

^^^ I agree. The opening ceremony was great, but I beg to differ from those saying that it is THE best opening ceremony the world has ever seen!
The best opening ceremony still remains to be the one by Beijing, IMHO. That's just my POV- can't ignore the truth even if I am an Indian, lolzzz :D

Anyways, I am glad it did go well..Hope the rest also goes well, and for once, I hope the media DOES co-operate.

Kalmadi- hehehehe!! But well, it was bad when he got booed..Not the way one should behave anyway..That again is my POV.

President calling Duchess- Ditches, hehe..Can't get over it yet ! 😆

@Bold:- Losers!! The Indian media- NDTV 24*7 was still guessing why India felt short of chasing a total set by Australia in the 1st test match they played, lolzzzzzzz :D
I mean, c'mon!! U guys ought to be showing the live telecast or at least should be focusing on CWG when it's going on instead of focusing on cricket for Pete's sake! Let cricket go for once..M sure even those "Tendulkar-is-God" type fans also would have been more interested in the CWG games. Loser media!!!

As for BBC, or CNN..Maybe they didn't think it was of much importance, considering what happened before it and all..But to be frank, BBC or CNN never concentrated on CWG at all as such. The whole hype was from the Indian media, quite understandably.
