will try the pr route... let us see. (so sobtii will read poem, rush to writer's page and check age, you think?... hayee, i am number 54...)

No there has to be another way of letting him know, that's it not just screaming teens and twenty somethings, but 30s, 40s, 50s...also!

What strikes me most is the love his fans are showering on him. The poems.. are all lovely Indi di.. absolutely dil se..

I have been giving this some thought. On twitter I noticed groups growing crazy because that pooja girl (his PR) said he had read everything they sent him and asked her to thank everyone mentioning each and every persons name. So I am thinking maybe we could compile everything on the slam and send it.

I have a feeling he likes and appreciates humor and wit and of course all this betahasha love.. so wishful thinking maybe but part of me says he will love reading all this..

Then whatever he mumbles.. am okay with.. and since after all this poetry party is your original idea.. am willing to agree that his mumbling says..he wants to read indi52.. we can join him too reading indi52..I volunteer to show him all your best posts 😉

And of course, it is cos you mentioned Gautam Menon... Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein is the only film of his am really familiar with...Saif and Maddy and a very young Dia Mirza...and the gorgeous song above you and i have posted in the two languages!!

Rajeev Menon, I remember watching Sapney (the hindi version of the film Durga has brought the song from) with much excitement cos i knew him as Mani Ratnam's cinematographer in Bombay. I also liked that other fast paced song with percussion perfect...Kajol's introduction, was it? Can't remember clearly but i remember loving it. Now recall reading somewhere back then that they shot the Tamil and the Hindi version together...every scene, two takes...it was a new thing then perhaps. I have seen Kandukondein too...and very much like you, with my friends right when it came out...i have two close close college friends from chennai land actually... but found it much too pretty and sweet for my taste... truth be told, am not much of a fan of sense and sensibility either for the same reason 😳

Kamal Haasan - chhota muuh badi baat - the guy is a genius. I enjoyed watching the song you posted, Durga, i haven't seen the film...Madhavi, truly lovely...and so sexy.

Of Kamal's work...i was in school i think when i first watched Sadma...and i've never forgotten the film esp the last scene when he goes to see her on the train. Lifelong fan, i became of his, and Sridevi's. Wasn't that one also a remake?

And Thevar Magan is my other fave of his...great songs wahan bhi.

Nice this chat thing man...down memory lane firmly and finely right now...

Kandukondein, in relation to Sapnay I liked better. I think the music had a big role to play in that! I actually watched it on dvd. There's some bharathiyar (I think) poem sung by Hariharan. I liked the casting too. Oh, I forgot the Mani Ratnam connection , he was in advertising before that. And Sense & sensibility, not my favourite too among the Austens.

Gautam Menon, made another movie in hindi recently with Prateik Babbar and some gori chick. I was talking about the tamil original of that. There's another song sung by Bombay Jayashree from an earlier picture, will try and find it.

Thevar magan was a fantastic movie, Sadma is a dubbed version of the tamil Moonam Pirai.

I had so forgotten that Sadma was a dub...of course it was!! The other Mani Ratnam connection that excites me terribly is Santosh Sivan - i'm sure you know him - also his cinematographer on quite a few - and a director now. Did you ever see a small film called Terrorist with Ayesha Dharker? Rajiv Menon, btw, to the best of my knowledge, is still, also, an adman.

i agree with you on Kandukondein...worked on many fronts. Abbas was quite the heartthrob then, wasn't he? And all those cameos. Them, as sisters...perfectly cast...much like emmma thompson and kate winslet. And Mammooty...and Ajith! Yes, i recall Hariharan singing a SB rendition...must look for it.. There was an amazing art exhibition in delhi a few months ago...centuries old pieces from all over the country brought together...it was breathtaking...and they had a bharathiyar poem - eng translation - gorgeously inscribed on a wall...on Shakti...Uff.
One of the ones i absolutely love btw - translated as "I know no fear" - hope i got that title right!

Prateek B and the gori chick😆...Amy something i think😆...yes i recall seeing some dheela dhaala promos!
