guys i founded some info abt durdhara as i was searching on the net abt her. plz read and tell me how was that

Queen durdhara was wife of chandragupta maurya. Due to lack of textual material regarding her historians have different perspective regarding her life. One view suggest that she was princess of a kingdom that was situated in north western india. another view suggest that she was macedonian and her real greek name was Diodora.

Reference in jain literature:

As per the jain literature durdhara was the first wife of cgm. The jain text mention that durdhara fell in love at first sight with cgm ❤️. Chandu saved the princess from a prince who was having corrupted intentions. She also helped chandu to establish tie with various small kingdom to collectively defeat Alexander's officers.

Reference in indica:

Megasthenes was sent to patliputra to record the details of mauryan empire. He was the special envoy of king seleucus. In his book megasthenes mentioned a macedonian princess called diodara, which was the greek name of durdhara. Some historians argue that durdhara was actually not indian, but the daughter of seleucas (i dont think as we know his daughter was helen). After a long battle he decided to marry her daughter to king cgm to establish peaceful ties with his empire.

This evidence becomes more prominent when it was discovered that seleucas who was greek, married an iranian girl called Apama. So it could be a possibility that future maurya rulers shared greek, iranian and indian blood.

guys do u think durdhara was greek😕 ? i dont think what abt u all?

reg. CGM's marriage itself there are many stories and of Durdhara there are many stories. some say she is Maecidonian, some say persian and some article which i found say she is daughter of one of CGM's maternal uncle and hence she is of mauryan descent.

and it also says that CGM married Durdhara later after marrying Helen (acc. she is first whom he married) as he didn't have any successors after him. some say he married Helen almost 4yrs prior to his death. so which is correct we don't know. and we all know CGM is a polygamist just as other kings do.

Are Swetha u r just talking abt Durdhara!!! Guess what I found reg CGM...according to a historian, I'll not reveal his name now, CGM was not even an Indian!!!! but an Iranian!!!! The pataliputra referred to in the greek texts by megasthenes was actually the city Patali...which meant he never met Chankya because Chanakya was 100% Indian as he was a brahman and brahmans were found only in India...😲

So now we all know its not true...

dear... very nice efforts!!!!! actually seleucus had other daughters too apart from helen...He also had a son Antiochus whom he loved very much...there is one interesting story regarding seleucus and his son...I'll post it for sure in near future...😉

helen can't be his first wife cuz yes!! He married her 4 yrs prior to his death, it can be concluded from the dates...i think so...no idea!! what will be shown in the show???

new update!!!!!!

this is the story abt Vishkanyas and how Chanakya saved Chandragupta from them!!! [as I promised]

It was the age of Vishkanyas [poison girls] who were trained in different ways to administer poison to selected persons, mostly kings, princesand other rich young men. They were made to take poison every day through snake bites or directly in the form of powder or tablet. This made them poisonous and poisoned their system and organs so that persons who made relations with them was killed. On the other hand, they also kept different types of poisons hidden in their apparel and were trained to administer enough out of the secretly kept poison to wipe out the target.

One such poison girl was planted to kill Chandragupta Maurya. She came to the sourt with a secret agent. hey offered many thing to the king. Their first aim was to gain the favour of the king without making Chanakya suspicious. It was a well thought out and dexterously executed plan. They came very close to the king. They would come to the court everyday and return back before the evening.

As they were expecting, one day Chandragupta made the crucial and deadly mistake of inviting them to dinner. In the late evening, they came for the dinner. The poison girl had everyone present there in their view including the service men who were coming in and going out. She mixed the poison. The moment it was done, Chanakya appeared and ordered the soldiers to arrest them. he has kept them under surveillance ans was watchful. When the invitation was extended to them he intuitively knew was was to happen, so he made all the arrabgements to avoid the worst and had to get them arrested along with the proof.

Though an obedient disciple , yet CGM did not like the interference of his GURU and MINISTER. But he became dumbfounded to see the overwhelming proof. At his heart, he was thankful to his mentor and guide for making him what he was and for saving his life God knows how many times!!!!!
