Well friends few facts which I missed to cut short my previous post will be covered in this topic.

this topic covers how Chanak was cruely killed and the cruelty of D and amatya. how sensitive C was and what made him so hard till CGM attained the throne. insult after insult makes a person even more a hard one.

How Katyayan ji helped C in getting his Father's hacked head from the tree where it was placed and all.

a bit lenghty though but to see the characters of these people it is important for me to give the details.

Chanakya and his Childhood

As I already said that Chanak was killed by D. but how cruel was he just can't explain but this is what he is.

The Katyayan ji, the military official was sent to stop Chanak. And D through Amatya ordered Senapati n some soldiers to shoot the poisonous arrows without the knowledge of Katyayan ji.

Katyayan ji was surprised to see this and the soldiers took him away from the spot. Later when all the people dispersed the secrete soldiers hacked the head of Chanak and as per D's order was placed on a old bamboo tree near river Ganga so that people see that and never dare to do such things again.

When C was in kusumapura he smelled something fishy but thought his father was safe. Chanak's spy's took care for their shelter and all. They ordered the head of the village also to take care of what ever they want. Katyayan ji sent a messenger to C and asked him to meet him secretely near his house on the bank of river Ganga in the night as soon as he arrives.

When he got to know the news that his father is no more he was speechless, no tears to cry either. Then he took a oath that vishu will be now called as Chanakya.

Katyayan ji arranged for last rites of Chanak but C demanded that he wants to get the hacked head so that he can perform the rites.

He instructed the directions of the tree to C and asked him to paint himself with a black oil kind of thing n take a dip in river so that it will last for a month. No one should recognize him.

As per the instructions he finally got his fathers hacked head, crossed the river, and found a man waiting for him to help him perform the rites. C cried a lot holding his fathers head but to his surprise he heard that some one was laughing very loudly and it was none other than his fathers laugh.

He made his heart very hard, dressed himself fully covered with various clothes and moved towards Taxila.

Entering Taxila University

On the way to Taxila he met with a group of Sadhu's who were on their way to kashi. He almost traveled for a year and finally saw the first glimpse of taxila.

He felt that the cold was very intense than Pataliputra. After few enquires he found the university gate and asked the Dwar Pundit (Gate Teacher) about the Acharya Pundarikaksha who in turn replied in chaste Sanskrit.

While Chanakya spoke in normal man's language Prakrit! Following the instructions of Dwar pundit, he reached a small house covered with greenery.

Face to Face with Acharya Pundarikaksha

There he saw a man and announced him that he want to meet Acharya Pundarikaksha and he came from Pataliputra.

The man looked intently at the boyish stanger weary with the long travel, clad in soiled outfit. The effect of the jet black solution on his face and body was still visible which made him look unusually dark in complexion.

Chanakya told him that he was sent by Sri Katyayan ji who is a minister in Magadh cabinet. He gave Acharya the letter which Katyayanji gave him.

After reading the letter Acharya says "so you are the son of Acharya Chanak. Never met your father but heard much from Katyayan. Regarding your admission into the university its not easy to enter for a commoner and is very difficult. I'd see what I can do. Mean while you take rest". Saying this he showed him a small room and departed.

Chanakya set himself in the room and gone to bed and when he woke up he was surprised to know that he slept for 14 long hours. He saw Acharya already was awake. Having breakfast of fruits and milk they both went to see the Acharya Shatananda ji who was head of Taxila University.

Chanakya Startled Shatananda ji

Shatananda ji was a bearded man with massive frame. Shatananda ji told Chanakya that he is late for admission and as you are coming from Magadh your chances are bleak.

Chanakya enquired respectfully "how can such considerations affect one's admission in an institution of learning? Here in my humble view, the criterion should be only merit, for which I have not been tested yet. Then how is my candidature rejected out right".

Shatanandaji startled a bit and thought this ugly dark boy appears to posses a really sharp brain. Then he said to Chanakya "I am impressed by your question, but to run an institution one need system and a set of rules. Magadh is a defaulter and it has not paid its dues for last 2 yrs. This university runs of grants received from various states and accordingly a quota for admission is allocated to each state. It is only when we se there is a provision for admission then we conduct the preliminary test. I don't see how you will fulfill that condition".

Pundarikaksha gave his word that he will introduce Chanakya came from his state. Then he was asked to take the responsibility to pay the first year's fees to stay in the university. Then he will prove his capability to pay fees through scholarships we grant to bright students.

So Chanakya is all set to enter into Taxila University. He was sent to Dwar Pundit to take Entrance test. Chanakya emerged with flying colours and was admitted.
