In the recently released film “Tu meri main tera, Main tera tu meri”, starring Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday, actor Mohit Nehra has made his film debut. Mohit plays the role of Sukhi, an NRI who comes to India for his wedding. He is also featured prominently in the song “Pehla Nasha”, which is picturised on his character and shows him performing musically for his fiancée.
This is Mohit Nehra’s first film, though he has been associated with theatre for several years. Alongside his work in performing arts, Mohit is also a Chartered Accountant by profession, making his entry into films an unconventional career shift. Speaking about his journey, Mohit said, “From childhood, the world of films attracted me, and I had faith in my heart that one day I would become a part of this world.” He further added that getting his first film with Dharma Productions reaffirmed his belief, saying, “If you truly desire something from your heart, then the entire universe starts conspiring to make it happen for you.”
Mohit also spoke about his interaction with filmmaker Karan Johar at the film’s premiere held at Yash Raj Studios. Recalling the moment, he shared that Karan congratulated him for the film and spoke to him with warmth. Addressing industry perceptions, Mohit said, “It is a misconception that Karan gives opportunities only to nepo kids.” He pointed out that the film is headlined by Kartik Aaryan, who is also an outsider, and mentioned that several other actors in the project come from non film backgrounds.
