I also agree that Vanraj and Sameer are on two opposite ends in the movie ... he needed to lighten up a little but Nandini was such a zombie the whole time she was with him, you almost feel sorry for him, especially during that wild goose chase in Europe.😆

Sameer didn't stand by Nandini, as he should have. He stood by his name, which means 'Hawa ka jhonka' (a gust of wind). Which he was😆The minute a storm brewed up, he moved and just went with the flow. Didn't stand his ground for Nandini.

He was upbeat, fun loving and great at flirting! He's someone that makes you wanna live 'in the moment' and gets a lot of attention. He's light, chirpy and easy to fall for. Easy Boyfriend material!

Vanraj is your ideal 'Husband Material'. Serious, level headed, not fun in the moment (infact crazy boring!) but perhaps a good long-term deal😆 And his wife to be, soon became a zombie like him following the twist of fate with that forced marriage.

But it's hard to fanthom someone like Sameer, waiting for someone like Nandini. Sam grew up in Italy! Seen lots of hot girls I bet and Italy is a great place to be in really - will help you move on easy peasy and keep you distracted. He'd have probably fallen for Nandini during those moments there were together. She's goodlooking and he's flirtatious, why not? lol But you were right in observing that Sameer lacked depth and was all about living in the 'moment'.

Surely felt really bad for him during the Tadap Tadap song😒 That's not the way to humiliate someone or to be asked to leave..

I don’t think sameer lacked depth …he was fun and effervescent but he had a lot of depth

He was dedicated to learn music, was focused enough to impress a classical music guru who misjudged him initially as being “shallow”

He mingled with nandinis family and got along well with all of them

There is no reason why her dad would reject him…ofcourse it was merely his ego and not “him knowing better” that caused nandini to marry vanraj

Also disagree vanraj was husband material compared to sameer …sameer was pretty good husband material too…he wasn’t some unstable kabir Singh type drug addict 😂 the guy was just fun loving and flirty but never misbehaved and was monogamous throughout

That's a different and thoughtful perspective. I respect everyone's opinion but honestly I was quite tired of this "Vanraj being husband material" and Sameer and his love lacking depth thing. As you said, there was no reason for Nandini's father to reject Sameer other than his own ego, Sameer could have easily ran away with Nandini, but he chose to keep her family and father's honour above everything, now whether that was right or wrong is something debatable, but he indeed was a man of integrity. I wouldn't necessarily say he forgot about her after leaving India, I guess he never moved on, he did send her letters if I am not wrong. Sameer was as much a husband material as Vanraj if not more or less, and I felt for him the most in the movie

Sameer didn't lack depth . He lacked brains.. I mean he went away leaving Nandini without a fight and was yet somehow sure she will come to him because "his baba" was more powerful than "her baba"

He didn't pause to this k what if Nandini did something to herself.. what if Nandini is forcefully married to an abusive guy like her cousin?

It was Nandini's luck that her husband wasnt abusive and that she was rescued by her family during that suicide attempt..

And where was Sameer all this while? Drawing cartoons, singing at concerts, sad at losing Nandini but still doing nothing absolutely nothing to find out more about what became of her

He is ith all his resources didn't fight for Nandini.. yet he expected a girl with limited resources and understanding of the world to fight, win and cone to Italy all by herself? That's one heck of optimism and actual stupidity

The space where Nandini let herself be put is by basics wrong. I'm someone who would not have married at any cost. Been there so saying from experience.

If my boyfriend didn't fight enough for us then even if I decide to break the relationship based on that, even then I would not have married at that point because emotions doesn't have a switch just because I broke up my feelings won't die in a day. It's unfair to walk into a relationship without a clean open heart. Like I always say parents'are human too they makes mistakes children shouldn't put them on a pedestal and be like they will only do the correct for me.

Just because the person I loved wasn't strong enough to fight for us wouldn't make me kill my soul and go for another man. I'm rather someone to take time fight it or even run away on my own to save my heart. I'm not someone to marry Vanraj and pin for sameer.

The biggest stumbling block with picking Vanraj is undoubtedly his boring personality. 😆 But I think he never got the chance to show his fun and cheeky side cuz he was too busy dragging a zombie around Europe. He had this stillness about him that kept Nandini sane (or about as sane as a zombie can be) but I definitely had to knock points off him when he makes a move on her while she's sleeping. 🤣

Personality wise, I pick Sameer's over Vanraj ... of course. Although Sameer could dial it down a little too ... he was too much of a whirlwind for my liking.😆

Oh boy. 😆 I'm just glad I didn't write Salman there ... and stuck to Sameer, the character in the movie.😆
