If Nandini was so big on keeping promise and honor, she wouldn't have let her cousin elope.. Sameer knew fully well that Nandini didn't abode by those idiotic norma

Because the dad didn’t ask him not to write letters. He simply wanted him to leave home without meeting Nandini. So he left and asked Nandini to come out so that he can meet her outside of her home. But she never got the messages because the servant was using his own brain. And if the servant was being so true to his job, he should’ve never given those letters to Nandini but he gives them to her as her marriage gift on the first day of the marriage. 😂

I don't remember what exactly GD was😆 if it was simply for Sameer to leave, he could have easily left with Nandini😆

As far as I am concerned, it doesn't even matter what the GD was.. you have a girl who trusted you enough to let you come close to her.. Naneidi was a sheltered village girl.. She allowed Sameer to come close to her which was enough to tell just how much she trusted and loved him.. and Sameer gave her up in exchange of his music lessons? He didn't think what she would do, he didn't think how she will survive, and he disnt even try to find out about her..

So as far as I am concerned, Sameer did nothing, absolutely nothing to deserve Nandini

Sameer couldn't have left with Nandini. Her family won't have allowed that. He would've to fight with the whole family for them to leave and this wasn't a masala movie where Bhai could beat 10 people at a time.

He couldn't sneak out with Nandini either because her family would be keeping an eye on her after knowing their affair and also considering one daughter of their house has already ran away, they would be more careful this time.

Sameer didn't need to leave for Italy though. He could've stayed in India in a nearby city to keep tabs on Nandini. I feel Sameer loved Nandini but didn't want to go against her father because he was his guru. Although having an affair with his guru's daughter and helping out a girl of his house to run away was already a betrayal that he did.

I suppose he didn't want to confront or fight with Nandini's father directly. He considered his hands tied and the only way he thought he and Nandini could reunite was if she herself comes to him. Something which I think he didn't expect her to do, because it was obviously not realistic.

So he returned to Italy and tried to move on with his life. Writing her letters might be something he did out of desperation.

He could have tried.. Had she shown even the slightest bit of willingness to fight for Nandini or at least get her out of that place, even if he would have failed, I would agree that he was the right guy for Nandini.. But considering he paraded off to a faraway land without bothering to find out what became of her despite knowing how cruel her family can be and how in love Nandini was with him, he lost all his chances then and there

So he couldn't have done anything.. when he couldn't have done anything, why will Nandini pick him over Vanraj? what if she settles with Sameer and bang comes the guru asking for a second session of Guru Dakshna?😆 His hands would be tied again

Obviously.. The servant won't follow the instructions of a guy he barely knows over someone he has worked for years.. That's why I said Sameer lacked brains😆

Gosh, I really hope I don't ever fall for some doofus with some crazy archaic notions of guru worship or anything. I do believe that we owe a debt of gratitude towards gurus or mentor figures because they shape our lives. But it all has to be within reason. Whenever an elder acts unreasonably, forces their will on people, makes arbitrary decisions - then they don't deserve obedience or reverence. Nandini's father behaves unreasonably when he forces Sameer to sacrifice his love and Sameer should not have obeyed.

In my twenties, I would have rushed to Sameer because I had lofty notions of fairytale romances. Now I see Sameer as a fairweather boyfriend. Someone who is a good person, but not capable of taking a stance in difficult situations.

Now, I'd give Vanraj a choice. Be transparent that I'm not over my ex and have been forced into a marriage. But my ex made a choice of leaving instead of taking a stance. I cannot guarantee that if and when I will get closure, and if I will ever be fulfilled in this marriage. But I am willing to have a fresh start in the marriage as friends and see where it goes if Vanraj is willing to wait. But, I don't want to lead him on or keep him hanging. If he doesn't feel like waiting he can divorce me and try to find a bride who is more eager and willing.

💯

With the jarring nimbooda playing in my ears, I doubt I would be able to focus on anything...let alone fall in love at first sight with a girl with 4 expressions per milisecond rate, prancing around with an invisible lemon in her hand.

Forget the part where in all this I'm also trying to make sense of the lyrics, and its connection with the event.

Not sure if peacock or woman.

I can't imagine being in Nandinis place because I ll never make fart jokes or fall in love with someone who enjoys those. I have no idea what she saw in him and I don't say that because the character was played by Salman.

Anyway, for the sake of argument if I had to marry a guy my father chose for me and not the guy I loved , I m not sure how I d deal with the love part. I mean, I'd try to tell the groom beforehand so that he wouldn't have to go through a charade. If that isn't possible I would at least make sure I don't take out my anger on the groom and treat him like shit ,the way Nandini did. But I'm pretty sure I won't be so deep in love with anyone that I'd go hunting for him all over Europe. With that money I'd buy myself a nice weekend at a spa or something and maybe a watch for the husband ,put aside the rest of the money for impulsive Amazon purchases and move on. The perks of being a non-romantic .

If I were Nandini:

Run away from home

Get a damn education since my stupid ass thinks kissing makes babies

Get a job and be independent

NOW re evaluate the situation and see which man I want vs settling for the first non familial male that I meet or the guy who wants to marry me because I cute
