I'm in two minds about Vanraj's love at first sight and how he turns himself into the sacrificial lamb till she eventually runs back to him.

Sameer would have pissed me off enough by prioritizing that Guru Dakshina over me and taking off to Italy without a fight. He was happily... I repeat HAPPILY licking his wounds in Italy with his mother while Nandini attempted suicide and turned into a zombie after that forced marriage. NOPE, screw that.

Since Nandini falls in love with Vanraj by the end of it, I would make a deal with Vanraj. His love is unconditional, so I'm sure he'd be only happy to oblige. Basically, we would divorce just to send shockwaves across the mansion and spite my father who's a megalomanic, cold, and callous old man. He deserves to hang his head in shame and worse for picking his ego over my well-being.

After the divorce, I'd come back home for a bit to amuse myself with all the reactions and troll that evil plotting aunt for as long as I'm there. Someday's gotta give it back to her too.

After a couple of months of chilling in the mansion, I'd run off with Vanraj. And to add an extra cherry on top, I'd have another "respectable" groom of my stupid father's choice waiting at the wedding altar while I run off with Vanraj cuz they deserve that public humiliation and worse. Sorry not sorry about the collateral damage, I'm sure he'd find another girl. Leave it up to the fam to clean up that mess. Who cares! and NEVER look back! 🥳

In any case, I would make damn well sure that the old man's conscience gnaws at him every minute of the day.

Anyways, I am not much of a romantic but I would have picked Sameer. I wouldn't have been able to get over the forced aspect of the marriage with Vanraj. I would see Vanraj as shallow since he fell in love at first sight upon watching a dance. He was a good man but not the right man. Compatibility is very important and Vanraj was so depressing! Being with Vanraj is getting stuck in a routine where each day is exactly the same as the next. Couldn't be me.

Exactly my thoughts 😆. I would have picked Sameer too!

The movie feels like watching a musical more than an actual movie ... there's a song every five minutes but Aishwarya looks gorgeous and has a good chemistry with Salman, so I enjoy the visuals.

I also agree that Vanraj and Sameer are on two opposite ends in the movie ... he needed to lighten up a little but Nandini was such a zombie the whole time she was with him, you almost feel sorry for him, especially during that wild goose chase in Europe.😆

I sure wouldn't pick a guy who thought I was some price to be paid in exchange for some singing lessons and a guy who didn't even try to find out what became of me. I mean duh that was some love Sameer

As for Vanraj, I think I would have given it some time.. take time away from him to figure how I really feel about him and if I actually do want to live with him

He doesn't even try though! That annoys me. 😆 and when they show him in Italy, he's going about his day, cracking jokes and acting normal.

I don't exactly remember all the details though, the whole movie is kinda messed up, the girl's father emotionally blackmailing her guy into leaving in exchange for his Guru dakshina or something, and the guy leaving too, then the girl forced by her father into marrying a total stranger she doesn't love, then the husband trying to reunite his wife with her lover by taking a trip across another country, and the wife eventually choosing him at the end. I applaud Vanraj for trying to do the right thing, and I understand why Nandini chose him, but still this whole concept of forced marriage and her father's extremely regressive mentality doesn't sit well with me.Sameer was a nice guy, what exactly was her father's problem in accepting him, I did feel bad for him at the end. And Vanraj is also a good guy, but his broody self got on my nerves, I don't know, I prefer staying away from such guys, and I kinda liked Sameer's personality, and as another member mentioned they should have gotten a chance considering how unfair her father was to both of them, so yeah I would have chosen Sameer over Vanraj.

I'd choose Vanraj. Yeah, it was love at first sight, but then let's keep in mind that it was set in a different time so you couldn't really go on dates and get to know someone properly. And tbf it's not like she knew Sameer "that" well.

Here you have Vanraj who loves you unconditionally.. and as a woman it's allways better to end up with someone who loves you bit more than you love him.

I feel bad for Sameer too, especially right before Tadap Tadap … always tears me up.

And I agree that he had an upbeat personality … to say the least. 😆 but he wasn’t exactly waiting for Nandini in Italy, was he? He was moving on in life without making any attempts to know her whereabouts. Vanraj sets out to reunite the two but I didn’t find much depth in Sameer’s love … not enough to want to get back with him. So I would instead find a way to teach my scumbag father a massive life lesson.

Forced marriage is illegal, I would have taken help of police if I was being forced in any way.

I agree, more than anything else, this needed to be done. See I agree parents think well of their children, but I disagree to the fact that only they can know what's best for their kids, especially when it comes to something as important as marriages and choosing life partners, it's a gamble afterall, nobody knows what's in store for future, but an individual's choices should be respected, because deep down only we understand ourselves the best, so we do have an inclination towards what's good or bad for us. What I hated was the fact that Nandini's father stepped over his daughter's happiness and wishes, for something as shallow as his image, reputation etc etc. I don't know what SLB was trying to show, but having shown Nandini crying over Sameer repeatedly, forcibly getting married to another guy, and eventually choosing him at the end, this concept of only our parents know what's best for us and marriage is above all thing getting shoved down the viewers' throat this way is something I don't get. I didn't even like the movie, I understand that may be Vanraj was the right guy for her after all, but love doesn't work like that. Feelings are organic, compatibility is a real thing which is still overlooked or given the least priority in the concept of arranged marriages, at least in a lot of cases, I have personally seen, but I am glad things are changing for the better but still I feel we have a long way to go.
