If this flops I'll feel really bad for Ashutosh especially. He's a good director.

And there's nothing wrong with casting Arjun in romcoms (or any movie for that matter, seeing as his dad is producer for sure he can get him roles) , providing he FITS IN the role.

He fits modern boys more than historicals, IMO. Cannot see him as warrior- this 'persona' looks 'put on'.

Panipat And Pati Patni Aur Woh Early Estimates

Panipat has had a poor opening day with early estimates in the 3.5-4 crore nett range which is lower than Marjaavaan and Commando 3 despite being a film made on a bigger scale. The film has not even collected well in Maharashtra. It is the best circuit but the collections are not even average.

The film faces a huge task to recover from here as this number is too low for the first day. The film will have to double its collections on day two which does not really happen expect for a few films and those are released on limited screens.

Pati Patni Aur Woh has done well on day one with collections of 8.5-9 crore nett which is the highest opening day for a Kartik Aryan film beating the numbers of Luka Chuppi this year. The film will fail to reach double digits which none of the newer actors have reached and it will also finish below the numbers of Dream Girl which is the best for a newer actor.

The opening day is a solid start for the film and it should see good growth especially on Saturday for a good weekend total. The film has done good to decent business all over but its Delhi / UP with the best numbers as the circuit should cross the 2 crore nett mark.

Ok went to watch this coz our group didn't get desired seats of PPAW in next audi😆

But damn I am glad that we didn't, coz this is indeed how a historical war drama should be made, this doesn't focusses on showing off grandiose, sets, lame love story or chandelier esque heroines but strictly on war politics & how one makes moves and that's its biggest USP, surprisingly fast paced screenplay in most parts still could have been like 20 minutes short

Coming to performances, solid support cast mohnish behl, padmini kolhapure & esp mention to Zeenam Aman who has a narrative changing scene n dialogue

Arjun Kapoor isn't bad infact does a decent job acting wise, but falls short big time to bring the necessary aura, persona, commanding voice & most importantly the audience

Sanjay dutt looks the part & his pretty menacing as Abdali but he could n should have put in more effort.

And now coming to Kriti Sanon who is an absolute revelation, she owns the film through n through, she gets to display a myriad of emotions & does to all of them, watch out for the scene where she is cornered into raising the sword, or when out of desperation she devises a hasty plan, she carries the historical part with lots of elan & grace. She really has great screen presence & this is the kind of performance which uplifts careers coz stealing the show in a seemingly male dominated film isn't a cake walk, but sadly all is in vain coz Ashutosh Govarikar made a collosal mistake in choosing the male lead.

Anyway 3.5 Stars from my side, worth a watch, songs & hero is a big letdown.
